Another nice working together video learning life skills and spending quality time. A suggestion for you is to use a block of wood between the pendulum and wheel or a heavy rubber faced model.
I LOVE WATCHING WHATEVER YOU ALL DO!!! Not likely I will ever need to know any of this but INTERESTING & GREAT KNOWLEDGEABLE CONTENT BY YOU SAM. BUT, I have to Say I CRIED, 😢Literally to watch Elijah run the trencher & the Most PERFECT ❤ Song to Go with it! Thank You & God Bless ..love to All there from MO😊❤
Your son is getting first hand training from dad. He's gonna big e vert resourceful and not afraid to try anything and I think he likes the machines. Maybe a future excavator pro
2 things, never put your hand under a suspended load. You took off the access plate for the tensioner then proceeded to put your hand under the track as you didn’t have good access with a big wrench. Use the right tools. Socket set. Had a line blown, you’d be pinned and possibly lose that hand. Use a socket wrench next time and only got through the access panel. Or use dunnage then go under. Not trying to shit on you, I love your content, just trying to save your hand or fingers in case the worst happened. Next is just smacking that front idler as you mentioned with a hammer. Wood or wiggle then kick. These things crack so easy with the type of metal they use. Great video.
Thanks Sam for the clear how-to on the track. It helps that I have the same Creworks 1.1 T machine. BTW, the sizes for the locknut and tension bolt are 32mm and 16mm, respectively. I didn't have a 32mm but a 15/16 worked just fine.😀 Mine keeps throwing the track off the front idler on the same side. Maybe it's not tight enough?
Sam, next time use a jack to move the idler. A bottle jack or a scissor jack will keep you from damaging the idler with your "pendulum device". You could even use your car jack between the idler and the blade.
I’m enjoying watching just how much you have saved your back or rental fees! That little backhoe is working out great! Glad to see the project progress! Thanks for sharing.
When laying out the path to dig, plan your corners to be exact 45° or 90°. Makes it lots easier to connect the conduit. Be sure to lay "CAUTION" tape at 1' below grade over the conduit. (Like the septic company DIDN'T do). Thanks for the video.
Good job Sam, by chance did you tighten up the other track when you got the 'wandering' track back in its correct position? If the first track stretched enough to loosen up and pop off, maybe the other one should be tightened up a bit. I really doubt if those tracks are of a high quality like Cat or Volvo that they are going to standup as long. HAPPY TRAILS!
over kill is always good thing in my book even over size bury pipes / conduits allow for possible expansion in future or not but good to know if you do expand in future
Do those treads stretch with usage and require re tensioning? I love watching the boys work. Takes me back to when mine were small. I told them lots of the things in that song. It’s funny how they change as they grow watching them find their way is exciting and hard as a momma all too soon they grow up and leave home.
You see the other video of a guy dump his on its side trying to meet in the middle and drive out. A bit sketchy with those small tracks. Nice job. They have teh no tooth version of the 8 inch bucket, you think that would work just as well?
Hello. could you give me the spring dimensions? (length, thickness and diameter of the spring) I'm making a track drive, but I don't know what kind of spring it should be. thank you
probably be a good idea to put a toolbag with the escavator with all the tools you need , i can immagine being at work some distance away from civilisation so to say and having the tools needed at hand saves you a lot of walking back and forth and possibly even a long drive theres allso a chance that those rubber tracks stretch over time and that ione of the regulair maintanance items wiould be to retuiighten them kindah wonder why you didnt dug the ditch maibe even layed the cable and closed it up befiore installing the panels, using the wooden structure as a guide you wouldve know where the cables needed to go
Give this video a thumbs up if you got any entertainment out of it at least it's the least you could do for free entertainment I try to do it on all of my favorite channels and this is one of my favorites.
Come on sam you have to keep tools and machine clean after each use that rig looks bad all dried up caked on dirt number one rule is keep your machines and tools in good working condition and will last long time im suprised that your over look this fundemental uses
You said that you assumed something. You are aware of what assumes means aren't you. Still not gonna fess up on where the funds come from. All that stuff was not free if it was you should become a Master Grant Writer for underprivileged disabled persons. I would say that wheel is made of CAST IRON which would break before it flat spotted.
@@tracy419 I am not whinning just trying to understand how you have no visible means of a real job yet have all of these items just appear. I bet that you and them are Demonrats too.
I gave these nice folks a 👍! Did you?!?
Always!
First thing I do even before watching
A good father raises good sons!
13:41 you can see the machine starting to throw the track.
Even with having to fix the track, that excavator is worth its weight in Chow Mein! 👍🏼
Now I want chow mein! :D
Those tracks stretch some under use, maybe a maintenance factor is checking track tension?
suggestion to use ratchet tie straps to possibly pull track wheels together

Love how they explain what ever they are working on. Both would make great teachers or instructors.

I hope you adjusted the other track while you were down. Might save some time and frustration

A cat has always something to say, especially when you work 😂
😢our little boy is growing up 😢❤
The mini-excavator is a blessing for the homestead! Great video! 👍👏😍
May be better to use a block of wood do lay on the idler to hit on to keep from bending it next time
That song was so meaningful, beautiful. Would love to know more.
Speaking of obstacles, map out your runs, for future use.
This trenching project for power was so much easier than the original trench from the road to the house!
That's a beautiful dad-to-child song. When are you building your kids a tree house Sam? That'd be awesome.
I’m enjoying watching just how much you have saved your back or rental fees! That little backhoe is working out great! Glad to see the project progress! Thanks for sharing.
Very cool. You're moving right along to solar power!

Love the way you are teaching your boys life skills…. They are hard workers 18:34
Very interesting video today....please consider listing the music/tunes you use......
I don't know where or how you learned all this, but you are amazing! I love watching your videos. 🤗

Love your videos and enjoy watching. May the lord bless and protect you and your family and working on the homestead
Coming along great Sam. Love how you are doing it “over kill”, you should not have to repair any wire due to ground exposure.
The mini excavator has been very useful for all the projects on the homestead!
Holy Molly I can't believe how big the baby boy got. It doesn't seem like it's been that long.
Im buying one of those mini ex soon. Will be so handy on my property.
Are the tracks rubber could it have stretched?
Sam, you work so hard, but make it look so easy...🤪
That mini excavator could really come in handy around here.

Bravo 👍👍👍👍 Teaching by OJB training dreams of every DIY kids growing up ❤️🙏🙏🙏🙏
Thanks Sam! I love learning something new! Great job guys! 😊
Well done guys xx
Thanks Sam! Always enjoy your videos!
Great video👍🙏
Expected a much worse time getting that track back on. Was pleasently surprised at how easy it was.
One more plus for the mini.

How has this machine held up? Does the hydrlc oil stay pretty cool? does it have a cooler?
I was gonna say why do you get to do the cool stuff. 😎 But you did let your son get in on it. 😊
Someday I would like an excavator too!
Hi friend, does that machine have a hydraulic cooler? Greetings. and good luck,
More great work. ❤❤❤❤
Yep 👍🏻
SAM, YOU ALWAYS DO SUCH AN AMAZING JOB EXPLAINING EVERYTHING YOU DO ON THE HOMESTEAD. DID YOU HAVE TO GET CODE OUT TO INSPECT EVERYTHING?
Keep the dirt cleaned as well as possible off from under where the track rides!!!!!!!
This is so cool!!! 😀
Oh my GOSH! The song about kids…….😭😭😭😭😭😭😭!!!!!!!!!
Rubber mallets maybe a better tool

Sam. You totally surprised me when you didn't use a block of wood between that wheel and the hammer. You're normally more cautious. Shame. 😀😀

👍🏻

Use your hammer, but also use a piece of wood so you don't damage the wheel any..
👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️
Any ideal why it threw… and a lot easier than a M1A1 tank…lol
I think it may have loosen as it got broken in from use? Since there isn't an idler wheel with spring, there isn't a ton of room for adjustment.
@@sam-and-angelanormal for new tracks to stretch as they break in. I just had to tighten mine this week with only 6 hours on it!
💖💖👍👍💖💖🙏🙏💖💖👍👍
Do you have a wetland or body of water on or near your land? I keep hearing Red-winged Blackbirds calling in your videos.
We have a pond in our woods, but there is also a bird sanctuary area not very far from us. We have a ton of those birds around this time of year!
