This is a good way to show off the MPC's sound shaping tools & how using a good FX unit can really bring even a simple sample to life! I hope you make more of these type of videos. I'll pass it around.
@@gemfire.mp3 You're talking to that someone. Messing stuff that on the box in ways it wasn't really meant for is what I love to do on the MPC 1k/2500 with JJOS 2XL - So powerful! Now I use the Force which way more advanced.
@@gemfire.mp3 I just upload my first TH-cam video today which uses the Force FXs+DR202. The Force/MPC are pretty much 80% the same, but if like to mess with sounds on a deep level the Force is the way to go. The Force has 4× more pads than the MPC. I've had an MPC 1k/2500 both with JJOS since 2005 & once you use 64 pads, it changes your style & you can't go back to 16 without feeling limited. The Force is better at messing with parameters because it has a more advanced macro system over the MPC since it has unique Force only features like the 16 envelope followers that can be uses as LFOs & a crossfader that can use 16 times independently per project. There's a side A & B for the crossfader & each can assign up to 128 parameters to manipulate simultaneously! That just with crossfader set 1, you still have 15 to use. There are also 8 Q-Link knobs, only the X has 16 & the Live & One has 4. So 8 is a good middle for me. Here's a link to all the best marco videos I could find & I suggest reading the manual macro section for more info: Check MPC-Forums Force page for Tread I posted with all the best Force Marco videos. It also has disk-streaming, so you can record your 2-hour gig if you want or whatever. The OS, which is currently 3.30, is more stable than the MPC. The Force has a clip based sequencer that has the same 128 tracks as the MPCs but each track can play 1 of 999 clips, each can be a different bar length like 3 bars, 1.3 bars...etc, but the mpc can have different bar lengths if you change the track setting from Seq to Track or something like that. But the Force clip matrix sequencer gives you instant access to 8 scenes (each scene is a row of 128 tracks which is like a 1 sequence on the mpc) at the same time & you can mix & match clips from different scenes in real time. Powerful! Especially if you use Legato mode for the clips so they can play in the middle of it seq cycle in real time. It's not easy to explain, so check out this demo:th-cam.com/video/v09s0nWyCWU/w-d-xo.htmlsi=Lp_wfW1p-TDCS6gH The Force can't change tempo automatically like the MPC & it's stuck on 4/4 time-sig. There's the Mockba Mod OS hack that gives it many missing features, tho. There's even a tilt screen mod.
Very interesting. Would this work on a 2500? I have a 2000XL but the screen and individual outs need to be repaired on it so I'm thinking of getting a 2500 to add to my collection. Would you recommend it?
This should work on any device that has time stretching 2500 included. A friend of mine has one and it's a great machine. But I do highly recommend getting the JJOS for it.

Question, what would be the tune setting to drop the sound a full octave?
Minus 120 cents
@@gemfire.mp3 -120 is a full octave? interesting. So +240 would be 2 octaves up?
@@themrschantz exactly
Damn, why did I sell my 2000xl XD
Awesome
