My main concern with PSA is the issue of them messing up their grades (higher than deserved) and damaging cards submitted for grading. They don't even answer submitters' concerns or refund for damaging people's cards when it's clear they damaged thrm. PSA is getting away by being too big and people not accepting anything else.
I recently got refunded by psa die to damaging the card. It than got an "Authentic" slab (either that or getting the card back raw) and after I inspecties the card it appeared to have zero damage! 😅
PSA bent me over on submission I got a couple months ago and gave me extremely low grades on Mint condition cards. But I agree they do give higher grades than deserved on a lot of cards as well
Haven't been feeling PSA lately. Been getting 10's that I can tell shouldn't be with obvious print lines. Then I'll get back a 6 that looks like it should be a 10. I just really have no idea what they are doing anymore.
@@Rub3nAlexander nah CGC’s a scam. After seeing them give Illustrator cards 10’s that are obviously 8’s just because someone is internet famous and can help them by leeching off their fame is bullshit. Ain’t no way me or you are getting a 10 on a card with two busted up corners.
I don't really care about grading for flipping because I don't do that sort of thing, and I prefer CGC slabs over PSA, they feel a lot better in hand. Also, the reason there's no perfect 10 SIR Charizards is because they don't do that score anymore, they don't do "Perfect" 10's anymore, the highest is Pristine 10.
Faster turnover, better reputation, cheaper grading and now the best slab in the business. I have a hard time seeing how CGC wouldn't take considerable market share from PSA in the coming years.
@@Rub3nAlexanderI prefer CGC. Much better slab as you mentioned. I do miss the old blue labels but the black ones are growing on me. Reason I went for CGC in the first place is because to me I see PSA as being more for sports cards. I do own some PSA sports cards and once I got my first CGC card I could really feel the difference. Would have liked to see comparison of only CGC Pristine 10 to PSA 10. Black labels seem to be the only thing making Beckett prices different, since they go for a lot higher prices.
I think you'll find CGC Pristine 10 sell for more then a PSA 10 on average. PSA is the legacy company therefore the defactco industry standard and for many the standard for their collection uniformity. However I believe this is slowly changing for Pokemon cards, as CGC is more affordable and has the possibility of a Pristine 10, which typically have a higher monetary return than Gem Mint 10. Also PSA has more lawsuits against them from clients/ customers than CGC, which to my knowledge currently doesnt have any. Which may also just be a byproduct of having a larger customer base. Most newer collectors are building their collection uniformity around CGC and in perhaps 10-15 years from now if this trend continues, it could be the defacto standard for Pokemon collectors collection uniformity, and continue perpetually until it eclipses PSA. CGC will need to start grading packs, sealed items, and coins if they really want to draw in the uniformity crowd. Right now they grade a few things that PSA doesnt like certain types of error cards. Which for anyone looking to have their vintage error cards labeled, CGC becomes the defacto grading company for any collector looking for uniformity.

I wish PSA would be more transparent with their grades. I know they don’t offer subgrabes but knowing what reasons a card came back with a lower grade would be nice. You often see a batch submission to PSA come back with mostly 8-10 grades and a random 5 or 6 that appears to have no real significant flaws.
I sent 26 CGC GM 10 slabs to PSA for a crossover and only 2 got rejected for the crossover. I sent 12 PSA 10 slabs to CGC (my personal collection it CGC and BGS only) and only TWO SLABS made the cut. Speaks volumes about how accurate the grades actually are.

I recently submitted my 151 cards for grading, got all the starter alternates and their evolutions including the Charizard (why is Charizard in such high demand?), never sent cards in to be graded before and haven't been collecting since basically 1999. Always buy the card not the slab, take a look at the high res scans or ask for additional pics. There plenty of misgraded stinkers out there and its still the same card no matter what slab its in.

Wow, should i just buy cgc 10s and crack them and send to psa?
Perfect timing , I was just wondering about getting some cards graded 🤝
Hey Danny just FYI the lack of perfect 10s from CGC goes without saying here, because they were retired before the English release of the set. Only Japanese 151 had a perfect 10 window. Love you bud.
@9:42 Danny tries his Boston accent. :p
Wow! I had no idea! Thanks for the content!
Good luck to everyone watching Danny’s vids‼️ And congrats to the winner on December 31‼️
You can't get a perf CGC 10 anymore as of July
Cgc is inferior the only cgc I would think about buying is the perfects and pristine with the better looking labels
Hope you had a great Christmas celebration! Thank you for you generosity
Your amazing guy man love your insite on everything and keeping the community aware of everything it's amazing to see thank you so much 😊
Let’s gooo!!! Missed my chance to get your latest packs sold out SO FAST!!!
Hey Dan the man phanny have you heard about the HD swirl vs reg swirl Hype??
Personally i dont do stuff with graded cards, just expensive and people always want PSA for the brand name and its kinda hard to grade from where im from. I'll just keep buying sealed and cards I like 😊
Thanks for giving back and helping the Phan Clan community!
FYI, CGC eliminated the “Perfect 10” from their old holder and replaced with the “Pristine 10” in the new slab
Another s-tier market video, it helped me to understand cgc collectors better and their grading system… only Fanny could teach me this. The Best!
I use sgc i like the cases and they will have continued growth. I like having my cards back in 3 days instead of 30
I like the blue on the CGC but prefer the PSA. Just classic and original look. Looks better for me.
Started collecting psa slabs this year, good to be back in the hobby since 151 came out
Just got a sub back from PSA where i sent back a psa 6 charizard vmax from Darkness Ablaze that i broke out. It came back a 10 this time😂
Love your insight bro
Extremely admirable for your help for unfortunate people. Bless you
