Intaan Carina it’s not really her character that’s riding the waves..... it’s another person that is actually a surfer who looks similar to her who fills in since she can’t really surf.... in movies they call those people stunt doubles since they do the stunts the actors can’t do.
That's not her stunt double it was actually her. She had to learn somehow to surf for this movie. I remember them making an exclusive about her not knowing how to surf and learning to do so for the movie.

Nothing against anyone who likes these kinds of movies, but these happy-go-lucky surfer musicals where nothing really gets accomplished by the end just aren't my cup of tea. If you want a pretty good satire of movies like this, I would recommend Back to the Beach from 1987, which actually has Frankie Avalon and Annette Funicello as the parents of the surfer kids. It's a very enjoyable film.
This is so big problem with classic Doctor Who... You watch 5 episodes by 20 mins each and then, in last 5 mins, Doctor just come up with idea how to solve it. Rest 90 mins is just for running and chittalk I guess

This movie came out when I was in high school and my friends were NOT interessted but I made them watch it anyway. I feel like it's way better than people expect. The plots not great, but the actors are charming, it's genuinely funny, and the choreography is on point.

So, I know the mad scientist plot seems like it makes no sense but if you watch any of the original Beach Party films from the 1960s, they frequently had bizarre plots. The plot of the movie Pajama Party featured a teenaged-Martian intelligence officer coming to take over the earth but falling in love with Annette Funicello instead.
I remember kinda hating this movie but still having a dream in which I walk into my closet end up at maybe Walmart and buy the cd to this movie. So mixed feelings about it I guess.
Listen, I was an adult when Teen Beach Movie came out and it's slamming. It's pretty much one of the only movies I've seen where the main girl and boy start as a couple and for a Dcom, they spend a whole lot less time floundering around.
This was filmed in my hometown and at the time I did musical theatre,by coincidence they rehearsed the numbers at my local studio. They were super secretive about it so we were so confused with the beach balls in our dance studio 😂
You do know that people say what's on their mind in conversation right, a character doesn't have to respond exactly to what the previous character said, because in real life it doesn't happen always like that. If you read Harry Potter, or reread it since it's probably been twelve years since you've touched the books, you'll notice that this happens from time to time. And once this social distancing is over, maybe you can actually have conversations with people and discover that it happens IRL too.
Everyone talking about how they loved this movie as a kid and I just remember loving it well into adolescence. Daniela Sánchez Exactly! I was 12 when it came out and just fell in love with it. It was so much fun laughing at the ridiculousness of the movie and jamming out the songs within it with my sister. Like you said, some Disney Channel movies often take themselves too seriously so it’s nice to just see something like Teen Beach movie for a change (especially when you’re a edgy 12 year old like I was)
Fun facts Brady and Mac also played in jessie (they were different characters of course) but Bertram was in jessie also so he met them before this movie
@caro I know for a fact that Ross Lynch knew how to surf for a long time before that movie, so he could've made all the surf scenes himself. Maia Mitchell on the other hand had to learn for this movie, so while I do think she did at least SOME of the surfing scenes, she could've had a stunt double

I don't really like this movie myself, but I really love the "Can't Stop Singing" song. Being trapped in a musical and involuntarily singing and performing a dance number is such a good concept, I wish the whole movie had just been that.
If that concept interests you, I would recommend checking out The Guy Who Didn’t Like Musicals, a musical on TH-cam by Starkid. It has great songs and a really clever plot.

This movie came out when I was in high school and my friends were NOT interessted but I made them watch it anyway. I feel like it's way better than people expect.
The plots not great, but the actors are charming, it's genuinely funny, and the choreography is on point.

Daniela Sánchez Exactly! I was 12 when it came out and just fell in love with it. It was so much fun laughing at the ridiculousness of the movie and jamming out the songs within it with my sister. Like you said, some Disney Channel movies often take themselves too seriously so it’s nice to just see something like Teen Beach movie for a change (especially when you’re a edgy 12 year old like I was)

I don't really like this movie myself, but I really love the "Can't Stop Singing" song. Being trapped in a musical and involuntarily singing and performing a dance number is such a good concept, I wish the whole movie had just been that.
If that concept interests you, I would recommend checking out The Guy Who Didn’t Like Musicals, a musical on TH-cam by Starkid. It has great songs and a really clever plot.
