Did anybody else realize that the knight before Christmas is just the first Thor movie? Guy is about to become a higher rank of something (whether it be a knight or a king) but gets sent through space or time to modern day, gets run over by the love interest driving a car, everyone thinks he’s crazy because he’s talking about where he’s from, they go to a cafe to get breakfast where the guy is impressed by the new food he’s eating, asks for “another” but acts improperly. If he were really from the 14th century, he would speak Middle English not just modern English with a British accent. They’d probably be able to eventually understand each other.
Old Crone: sends knight 700 years into the future to find love Knight: Dies immediately from 700 years of evolving diseases he had no previous exposure to with an immune system weakened by malnourishment.
The romantic chemistry between the old crone and the knight brother at the end is too intense for the sequel to not be about them falling in love in the future
And then the Vanessa with Sir Cole has another twin who tries to steals him. And then those 2 twins meet up with the other 3 twins and there will be a biiiig mix up. Twinception

A lot of people from North Africa and Persia wound up in England due to the crusades, proto-slavery, and some staying behind after the Roman invasions. Cole’s views on Black and Middle Eastern people would depend heavily on where in England he lived, and his class growing up. Though, he probably wouldn’t have ever seen an East Asian person before, and definitely not a Native American or Australian. So his reactions to them are the ones you really have to worry about.
@@FinalFantasyIXIIII yeah, that's about what i meant. i tagged you more to agree with you than anything, just to say that even if he had met black and middle eastern people he wouldn't have encountered a ton of non-white people. his reactions would probably be a little alienating to people he met, but he wouldn't have all the implicit biases and stereotypes that we do today, so i think he'd just be super hit or miss

...the most unrealistic thing about that movie would be that cole survived more than five minutes in 2019 without dying of every modern disease, and then him returning back and killing the entire village.
@@dyamondwomack549 it's not a point about toughness or not being able to take the pain, it's the fact every modern day human has ancestors with immunities to diseases that caught and overcome, therefore protecting the modern day humans and causing the disease to "die out". cole has none of this protection, making his immune system incredibly weak to most modern day diseases. when he returned ti his village he would also spread those diseases to equally vulnerable people too, likely killing them.

I think in this case, 'old' is used to emphasize her age. Similar to calling someone an 'evil villain.' The words have similar meanings, so the adjective is used as a way to indicate that the knight is referring to more to her age than her gender. So, at least in my interpretation, it is more like her is calling her an *_old_* woman. This is just my guess tho lol.

I'd love to see the Hallmark map of Europe; it'd probably have more little kingdoms and principalities than the Holy Roman Empire. And yes, of course all the royals and nobles have British accents. If American cinema teaches us anything, it's that all Europeans have had British accents (and have looked British) since the days of ancient Greece and Rome.

I live in the Canadian prairies most of the time, and they make LOADS of hallmark Christmas movies shot here. like at any point in the year there is probably a hallmark shoot happening. it's surreal watching someone use buckets of fake snow in CANADA because they chose to shoot a kocue set in Christmas in the middle of our hot summer. I love how the movie ignores how blatantly sexist/racist Sir Cole would have been if this actually happened.
@@FinalFantasyIXIIII it’d depend on where he’s from, London in the medieval period was actually fairly multicultural.

Were there actually that many new contagious diseases between Middle Ages Europe and pre-COVID America?
@@pseudonymous9153 the flu would probably fuck him up

@@dyamondwomack549 it's not a point about toughness or not being able to take the pain, it's the fact every modern day human has ancestors with immunities to diseases that caught and overcome, therefore protecting the modern day humans and causing the disease to "die out". cole has none of this protection, making his immune system incredibly weak to most modern day diseases. when he returned ti his village he would also spread those diseases to equally vulnerable people too, likely killing them.

this was the first thought i had lmao
“MAN! I’m not a woman. I’m a man…and I’m not old. I’m 37.”

This is just my guess tho lol.
not really, it's similar to saying "little baby", the "little" (or "old") doesn't reiterate the characteristic that the noun implies, but rather emphasizes it
