    This video helped me pull the trigger and purchase. Probably one of the best videos I've seen show casing a tools ability with a multitude of screws. So thank you

    I used th-cam.com/users/postUgkx4ynqaujg7rZKFapA8s29kTpRszJGa3-K this for the first time today to replace the front wheel bearing on my rwd 98 dodge dakota. This had absolutely no issue removing or reinstalling the lug nuts and it took off the axle nut without any struggle. Sounds like it's got some muscle to it. Time will tell

    I have one of these little guys and it’s a good all around tool. Sure it’s not great at busting bigger tight bolts loose but that’s what my DCF899 impact wrench is made for. This tool is what I go to around the house or working on the car on smaller fasteners and I don’t regret buying it at all. I also bought a 1/4 drill chuck and it can be used as an impact drill. There’s a ton of 1/4 attachments you can get for this tool.

    I already have a DeWalt drill and love it, so I will be looking for the Dewalt brand driver tool also.

    By far the impact driver is the most used tool in construction and this model is great 👍 go with a 2-3AH battery or 5 AH for a long day throw the 1.3/1.5 in the recycle box at the depot. Get a driver set and a impact ready hex conect drill bit index and leave your drill in the trunk. Impact does it all even cut sheetmetal

    Good video. I bought my DCF887 to help speed up my work on brakes and suspension mostly. If it can remove lug nuts, it can probably remove most suspension and brake fasteners.
    Funny that you just go around random cars to remove the lug nuts. Maybe I should do that to people that tick me off ;)

    I'm enjoying watching your videos. I'm looking to upgrade from my crappy good year impact wrench model number 33609. I will mostly use it for auto work. This looks like a good one to have with its different uses. Is this good enough to take off large and rusty bolts. Are do you recommend a different impact wrench.

    • @singlecams
      @singlecams  8 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      hello this is an impact driver , model number DCF887 so it is mainly used for screws it will not handle large rusty car stuff like axle nuts or even very tight lugnuts. This is the one you want Dewalt DCF899 , here is a video for that th-cam.com/video/bmFiFgAtUpM/w-d-xo.html Thanks for watching hope that makes sense.

      DCF899 the op recommended is a good one, but it can be an overkill for most car works. It has 700 ft-lb power.
      I do have DCF899, but it's HEAVY. It's also very expensive if you include a battery and a charger.
      Lowest price I could find was DCF899M1, $296 from Lowe's which includes 1 4Ah battery and a charger. (One that comes with 5Ah battery is $349 and with 2 5Ah batteries, $449 from Home Depot)
      IMO, for most work I think Ryobi or Ridgid impact wrench would be a good choice. They are light, have about 300 ft-lb power, and not that expensive (about $180 for a kit)
      I am thinking to get one of these for junkyard visit. DCF899 is not very convenient to carry around.

      if you intend to work on vehicles I would suggest an air impact wrench, I got my father in law the DWMT70775 it retails for around 70 dollars and you will need an air compressor, but it is much better suited for vehicle use in my opinion although it is still more of a homeowner grade tool than a full on professional mechanics tool.

    No smoking/burning issues like the VCG Construction guys experienced?

    • @singlecams
      @singlecams  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      If you look at the date under the vid it was made in 2016, it was around when the tool came out. The tool did all that with no issues and I still have it and put in like a 1000 screws into sub floors and no smells,smoke or anything. Maybe something changed between then and now...I am not sure what to say. I did watch Vince's videos.

    • @tsizzle
      @tsizzle 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hmm, maybe you have a good working copy. Vince had gone thru 5 bad 887s that all eventually smoked from testing. The switch going from speeds 1,2,3 seems to be sticky. Otherwise, I do like the 3 led lights.

    • @singlecams
      @singlecams  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@tsizzle in this vid it did lags and even crushed that exhaust tube no smoke & still going ...maybe dewalt changed something in the past 3 years since this video. Vince only started getting those in the past year so who knows whats going on. Also no one in past 3 years posted that it lit up so it was news to me watching it.

    • @MrJamesgrate
      @MrJamesgrate 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I agree with (T Sizzle), VCG Constructions must have got a hold of some bad DCF-887's, mine performs very well even after I used it to remove lug nuts on a tire, and I did it with the 2 AH battery. I appreciate you making this video and putting it through these paces, your video helps to maintain dewalts integrity and reputation as a reliable tool!!!!

    • @singlecams
      @singlecams  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@MrJamesgrate when did you buy yours james? Can you tell me what it says on the bottom of the tool what the date is and where it was made?

  • @6548ww
    @6548ww 3 ปีที่แล้ว

    Even though this may take a lug nut or two off it wasn’t designed for that task and would shorten the life of this tool but Wood working is what this tool can do and do very well 👍

  • @swami1

    Great video. Question: my driver is not holding the bits in the chuck. They keep falling out. Is there a trick to locking them in?

    • @singlecams
      @singlecams  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      do you push them all the way in?

    • @swami1
      @swami1 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      singlecams Yes. I just ran a test. It's just one bit that falls out--the smallest "star" bit. All the others lock securely. Naturally I'm using the small star bit now for a project. Is it supposed to be inserted in another piece first? It goes in all the way on its own but I can pull it out without pulling the locking ring.

    • @swami1
      @swami1 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      singlecams Yes, all the way. There is some resistance while pulling them out, but it(just the small star bit) comes out.

    • @singlecams
      @singlecams  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      hi is the back of it different than the others? some short bits dont have the indentation on the back where the tool clamp onto they are supposed to be used in the screwdriver or one of these extensions www.homedepot.com/p/Ryobi-Bit-Holder-Set-3-Piece-AR2019G/205193167 you can still use it but it will pull out or go too deep as you are trying now

    • @swami1
      @swami1 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      The bit (a T15 to be exact) doesn't have any indentations on it, nor does the next size up.

    Can you swap the anvail to 1/2 instead of the 1/4 inch one the comes with?

    • @singlecams
      @singlecams  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      hello they have a new 1/2" version of this which I believ is just the anvil MAYBE. You need to bring up the impact wrench version parts diagram and the impact driver parts diagram and compare the part numbers to see what exactly differnt in the front. On the big dfc899 the only part that was differnt was the anvil but this might have some other parts. But when you look at the diagrams you will see. For example you click this and then click "exploded art" under downloads on the right and you can see the big diagram and part #s below servicenet.dewalt.com/Products/Detail?productNumber=DCF887D2

    • @piercethompson
      @piercethompson 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      singlecams yes when i grab the chuck i can move it up and down left and right slightly. Also when i put a bit in i can wabble it around. And if i let it free run you can tell bt the bit that it is wabbling. Just wondering of thats normal?

    • @singlecams
      @singlecams  8 ปีที่แล้ว

      hi here is video of mine i made for you, i think its normal because its not like a drill chuck th-cam.com/video/eiTelAVj-N4/w-d-xo.html

      +singlecams yes i was, thank you. in your video that's exactly what mine does which is normal I actually took my set back yesterday to swap it for a new one and it does the same thing

    • @justind6039
      @justind6039 8 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      +Pierce Thompson It's the collar or "sleeve" that you're grabbing and that you see the slight wobble, not the chuck. The sleeve obviously has to have some play to accept and release bits. 100% normal. That being said the actual chuck on any impact driver will not be perfectly true due to the way it accepts bits. Being quick release you can't ratchet down your bit like you would in a drill.
