It's often due to the person he's with, he's a very charming and engaging person, he just has little patience for bullshit. He gets invited to a lot of talk shows and panels, and it's usually the case they're either lead or guested by people with short-sighted view points.
gotta admit it was really nice to see theo use his talents for something as wholesome and beautiful as to make jordan laugh like this.. he's a pretty tortured soul overall and has saved so many lives with his work so it's great to see him having a good time instead of being on the verge of tears talking deep or in stone faced resolution while being attacked.
I think it stems down to just who hes speaking too. For example Joe's podcast usually dives a lot more in depth because Joe likes to learn and truly discus the minutiae. The rest of his work is either professional or it involves a group trying to discredit him so he has to take those a lot more seriously. With Theo he doesnt go into the small details and break things down his podcasts are more geared toward metaphorical statements about topics which keeps things light and entertaining. When you take large complex issues and make them into funnier metaphors it's effective but yet still on topic in a way where you can learn but not undermine the general conversations or teachings.

It’s like watching someone’s nephew making their uncle laugh. It’s very wholesome.
"When I was a little more aimless in life, I was like 'I want things to be good'.
It wasn't enough.
Because things don't know how to just be good."
Man. That was profound.

6derty9z hahahahaha fuckin hell that made me laugh
Exactly. People hoping and praying ain't gonna do shit. Things get good when you take responsibility.
I was thinking the same
I love when Jordan lets an “eh” slip out
That's exactly what I thought. I've recently been watching TONS of JP. JP is incredibly smart and the mere fact that Theo got him to slip an "eh" was awesome.
"You got some water? Put some bubbles in it, man!" 😂😂😂
“‘Cause we’ll have a real party then!”
the guy who's smart on purpose meets the guy who's dumb on purpose
Archetypally, the Fool and the Wise Man are usually two sides of the same character. You can see that in our boy Theo here.
Haha theo can be equated to a jester/fool and Peterson hermit/wise man
Well Theo certainly is a fool that’s for sure
Matthew Olivera Kermit the Hermit! :'D couldn't help myself
Which is higher in the hierarchy?
@@w_stew8912 in the reality that is,i see them as both lower on the scale, about even actually. So many fools spread their words claiming wisdom when they are possessed by the ideas, while the wise ones words are lost amid the sound of music. Music, created to express, freedom of expression, the fools tool to express words unspoken with the sound that almost remains unbroken (true to weight meaning and inclusion of others in discussion.) The Sound of silence.
Once that oppressive background music is lifted, the wise man shows his face and the fools continue to follow in the suit of wisdom/true connection. In this the fool is almost attaining wisdom, and through the networks of background noise helps to present the idea itself to new audience of which in doing so shows wisdom in guidence and followers. Or foolishness by being possessed of the ideas and not actually contributing to topics. Parots.
Thats how i see it right now anyway.
I really like Jordan. I really don't see why people hate this guy. Hes real, hes been through shit like the rest of us, and hes a nice guy.
People are afraid of real, honest and honourable.
Because he says things as they should be said, he thinks and express the situation logically and makes a reality of it, but people seem to always rather choose to shut their ears or get angry when they get an honest answer.
People don't like that. People like the pleasant lie.
Some people just hate the light.
I prefer the word "Kind". He's not just "nice", he's kind!
Matt dillahunty. Search it you would find it out.
I’ve watched a lot of Jordan Peterson’s videos but this is the first time I’ve really seen him being more human than professor, it is so cool to hear he likes Mitch Hedberg and Louis C.K.!
Seeing Dr Jordan really laugh and enjoying who he’s talking to is so great, even psychologists need someone to open up to once in a while..
It's so nice to see JP laughing. Lord knows he needs it.
Reading "Lord knows" instantly made me switch to JBP's voice. He uses it a lot.
@@goatboy150 haha! I figured he knew that and that's why he used it 😏 but he's also right, this interview HAD to feel so nice after all the other ones he's had to deal with. With people like Kathy Newman lol
ha!
amen
Really cool to see Peterson in this chill format. I feel like he's always lecturing or being picked apart. Just nice to see a convo. Humanizes him.
It's often due to the person he's with, he's a very charming and engaging person, he just has little patience for bullshit. He gets invited to a lot of talk shows and panels, and it's usually the case they're either lead or guested by people with short-sighted view points.
Being picked apart? He picks them apart!
420th like. Feels good
He pick himself apart too
He's a good man, a realist....most people cannot handle the truth. 🤘
so nice to hear peterson laugh, lovely soul
Theo is such a kind and honest guy while still having that comedic relief.
Peterson is from small town Canada, that's why he can relate to Theo Von's way of speech

gotta admit it was really nice to see theo use his talents for something as wholesome and beautiful as to make jordan laugh like this.. he's a pretty tortured soul overall and has saved so many lives with his work so it's great to see him having a good time instead of being on the verge of tears talking deep or in stone faced resolution while being attacked.
Theo's ability to humor anyone is truly insane,it's so natural for him.
Theo is the youngest looking 38 year old in the world.
John Sprunger you know Pharrell Williams age?
Now you know why his dad was 72 and his mom was in her 30s.
John Sprunger so true, he legit looks like if you had skateboard trucks to sell, he’d straight-face try to trade you for two packs of gobstoppers😆
@Dire Gray how would that make u look young
@Dire Gray hahaha great joke.it just sounds like u have a dislike towards theo for whatever reason.sort urself out son.
Never seen him interact like that with anyone
I think it stems down to just who hes speaking too. For example Joe's podcast usually dives a lot more in depth because Joe likes to learn and truly discus the minutiae. The rest of his work is either professional or it involves a group trying to discredit him so he has to take those a lot more seriously. With Theo he doesnt go into the small details and break things down his podcasts are more geared toward metaphorical statements about topics which keeps things light and entertaining. When you take large complex issues and make them into funnier metaphors it's effective but yet still on topic in a way where you can learn but not undermine the general conversations or teachings.
Theo has very unique vibe. Like - I'm really #### up, but without self pity or attention seeking. For JP it must be pretty rare experience to meet such person as an interviewer.
I feel - it sucks to be JP. With his knowledge and intelligence it's hard to find someone not to trigger his "bull#### detector". It makes Theo a very rare case.
@@nolanorvold4442 no joe is a sellout whos not geniune and everyhting he says has been calculated before but Theo is a geniune free soul who is also actually funny so Jordan caught the vibe.

Haha the amount Jordan says "that's a good one"... he definitely doesn't say it without meaning it. Great interview
It’s so nice to see Dr. Peterson just so carefree and happy, enjoying an interview/podcast that isn’t meant to vehemently attack him at every moment.

I love theo and Peterson. Had NO IDEA this interview existed . This is an insane cross over for me and it’s so wholesome watching Jordan just laugh and have a silly conversation
Theo really brings out the best in everybody. Usually when Jordan Peterson is interviewed he seems tense and pragmatic. Refreshing to see him embrace his quick wit and laugh, we don’t see that side too often.
@@ImNotSure1010 hell yea! Even soe comedians have trouble recognizing theos humor in conversation. Jordan seemed to be delighted with it!
Welcome to the internet. You are extremely far behind
@@gamecop2191 Yeah, it was seriously surprising. There were a few points where he was genuinely overjoyed. It's rare to see anyone feel like that, let alone peterson, with how pragmatic he is.

Even though this was years ago, just watching Jordan & Theo both laughing, makes my heart happy. ❤️
it is so pleasant change to see Dr Peterson relaxed and laughing, it is not a side you see of him very often in interviews
“Cool stepdad who showed up that actually cares about our mom” that’s exactly how Peterson feels.

That was the sweetest thing I’ve ever heard Theo say.
Theo might legit be one of the funniest people out there. He doesn't even have to try. The words he uses, his creative perspectives and his delivery. Aces.
His mind is a gem
He's very funny in this kind of setting, where he can riff off of others. Love him doing the podcast - it fits him. I gotta say though that his stand up is not as good. It's still kinda funny but doesn't really suit him as well
@@tylers2889 he’s naturally funny in conversation, stand ups are funny writers and speakers. Key difference, in convo is actually way more witty. Just like how a lot of rappers cannot freestyle at all
I listen to him talk like a child excited for story time because you just never know what is going to come out of his mouth but you do know it’s going to be hilarious when it does 😂😂
Thanks for making dr.Peterson smile and happy. He went through so much personally and emotionally
Jordan deserves to laugh and have joy, he works tirelessly for mental health and common sense. I am glad to see him smile.

I wish it was as common sense as folks seem to think. Free speech is under attack. We have to state the obvious loud and repeatedly. We are already feeling the consequences of the speech police.

Not only is this an incredibly accurate analogy for JP, but I think he was genuinely flattered by it haha these two are an awesome odd pair, that are a lot more similar and of the same energy than most of us could have imagined.
Theo is a low key comedic genius. Really really funny guy, totally unique and just himself. What a treat this interview was!

The funny thing is is that most people don’t realize he isn’t as stupid as he comes off. Most everything he says is a joke however he executes the statements in a way that convinces the audience that he is being sincere. Meanwhile he knows he is joking and the joke is on the audience.
