Oh man. I am getting hyped now. This is going to lead to possibly the LARGEST battle in STO History! Ships uniting from every universe to defeat the borg Kingdom. And of course our Characters leading the charge because we're the heroes in this MMO. RED ALERT! WEAPONS HOT DEFLECTORS TO FULL!
This is a very good arc I love this idea of the battle to fight the Borg kingdom. The new character looks like an Iconian or at least an alternate version of one.
i love how ANGRY these Mirror Borg sound RIGHT from the start they are NEXT LEVEL and a much more logical evolution of the Prime universe borg who have did not attack when they could have and just decapitate the federation.
The Iconians of the Mirror Universe were wiped out by Admiral Leeta by using the time travel idea. You find this out by doing the reputation system for the Terran Empire, which unlocks logs or transmission of Admiral Leeta that Deep Space Nine somehow intercepts. These Aetherians might be a subspecies of the Iconians that lived elsewhere in the galaxy or another galaxy since the Iconians in the main Star Trek Universe were living in a Dyson Sphere in the Andromeda Galaxy after the attack on their homeworld. Or maybe the Preservers of the Mirror Universe saw what happened to their Iconians and decided to make a powerful replacement species in the Iconians place.
Considering they were foreshadowed at the end of Terran Gambit; makes me think that the terran Empire will be temporarily allies in this conflict, that's if the borg Kingdom haven't crushed them already.

In Discovery Season 4, they tell us that the Terran Empire fell Eons ago.
