Super, Harley, as you slowed down your voice over which gave it both gravitas, professional knowledge and enjoyment. You have become even more a professional and trustworthy oney. Well done! Now more revision! Lol! Rob
Excellent video, Harley, and very concise and informative. I think the only time I have ever seen an original 427 Cobra was at the Goodwood Revival a few years ago. Amazing car.
great video Harley. I like this format of short videos but packed with a lot of history and information, hope you do more of these, say the Triumph GT6 would be another one.
Hi 👋 Harley. Well put together video. Short and sweet and informative. Neat looking cars. When I think of Shelby , I think of Ford Mustang cars. But you know what Harley i still think there is nothing like a good old Morris Minor. Ha !. From Carl in NZ
Great story, Harley, well done. Being a "bit" older than you, I was a teenager when the AC Cobra was born and I wanted one right away. That never happened as the price even for rubbish was well beyond my savings account. I guess I was bit with the AC bug when at the age of about 12, my older brother's friend from college arrived at our house in a very used looking AC Ace. Dirty white with black interior and rusty/black wire wheels, he took me for a ride and I was hooked. Even with just the AC six cylinder, riding with no top was exciting and noisy! Maybe you could do a piece on the birth of the AC Ace, Bristol and Aceca up to where this story starts?
Very good, concise video on one of my favourite US V8s. Prompted by your video I Googled Caroll Shelby and found that despite his heart condition he lived to the good age of 89, being married seven times, six of the marriages ending in divorce!
An interesting aside is that we here in Australia had a car called the Buchanan Cobra and well before the Shelby Cobra. If you google Buchanan Cobra and click on images you will see a picture of my own car, the red one with the white soft top. Mine was built in 1957, with a body design based closely on the AC and was chassis number 6 of 7 made and was originally fitted with Standard Ten mechanicals. Mine was later fitted with a 1500 Cortina GT engine and an MGA front end but sadly it still sported a Standard Ten rear end with pencils for axle shafts. There was also Aston Martin styled versions made. So, Australia had Cobras well before the Americans which they continue to deny of course :). From memory the Cobra I had only weighed 6 hundred weight according to the rego at the time.
I like this format the best of all your formats.

A very well structured and informative video Harley. Shelby was and still is a legend in the motoring world.

I've already uploaded my take on that one, deserves a search of the channel homepage... 😉

That's great, every time I see an AC Ace or Acece I always bang on a while about them anyway haha, they're one of my favourite cars

Interesting, just looked at that - it reminds me of various Ford-based specials of a similar era that we see over here
