  • The rising gasoline prices have jeopardized the appeal of thirsty pickups. Some would say, buy an electric model, but lets be honest, those remain too expensive, impractical and impossible to come by. So for many people a proper Internal combustion model has no alternative. Therefore, in this episode we see the need to explore the most fuel-efficient trucks on today’s market that will do the job but at the same time won’t deliver a fatal blow to your family or business budget at the gas pump.
Join #AutomotiveTerritoryDailyNews and lets dive into the Miles per gallon ratings! We start the engines now!
    #1 2022 Hyundai Santa Cruz
2022 Hyundai Santa Cruz is on sale across American in 4 trim and 2 engine choices. If you are looking to save money on gas, we recommend going for the base 2.5l direct injected cylinder rated for 191 hps, 181 lb-ft, 21 MPG city and 26/27 highway. It is offered on the lower, SE and SEL trims.
    #2 2022 Ford Maverick
With seating for 5 people, a unique Flexbed system, and a 20k price tag, the new Ford Maverick should become a true hit among buyers. Another advantage of the model is its standard hybrid drivetrain rated for 191 hps and 38 MPG combined.
    #3 2022 Toyota Tundra Hybrid
2022 Toyota Tundra Hybrid relies on a 3.5-liter twin-turbocharged V6 aided by an electric motor-generator between the engine and the 10-speed gearbox. The setup adds 48 hps and 104 lb-ft, compared to the V6 alone, and returns improved fuel economy at 22 MPG combined.
    #4 2023 Ford Ranger
The 2023 Ford Ranger is evolving into a new generation which implies a 2 inches increase in all dimensions, new F-150 inspired design and a new engine.
    #5 2022 Chevrolet Colorado
GM’s Chevrolet Colorado and GMC Canyon are rather unexciting truck models, but the availability of a 4-cylinder engine and a diesel allow them to remain attractive buys when it comes to fuel economy.
    #6 2022 Ford F-150 Hybrid
2022 Ford F-150 Hybrid finally joins the iconic truck range, offering 430 horses, 12700-pound towing capability, and 25 MPG efficiency. The hybrid is available even on the entry level F-150 XL.
    #7 2022 RAM 1500
As usual, 2022 RAM 1500 offers a plethora of engine choices, among which the most efficient ones are the 3.6L Pentastar V6 with mild hybrid technology, dubbed eTorque, as well as the 3.0L EcoDiesel.
    #8 Toyota Hilux
The 2022 Toyota Hilux remains an indestructible machine we are so used, but also it gets an all-new economical 2.8L inline 4 Turbo diesel engine that makes 201 horsepower and 369 pound feet of torque.

I wish they would make hilux hybrid 4x4 that broke into that 40mpg range here in the US. That would be the perfect ride.
