One of Dimash's idols is Lara Fabian. She also loves Dimash and has sung with him. I'm a huge francophile, and Lara is yet another reason to add to my love of all things French (I majored in French).! By the way, you can always try to auto-translate the CC from French to English. Serge Lama is a french singer and composer, the song was written from his life experience. Lara sent him the soundtrac she prepared and then he asked her to meet him Paris. From that moment she was allowed to sing its own version. Both became good friends.

If you haven’t already, would love to see what you think of her song Broken Vow which is in English. The lyrics for Je suis malade are well worth checking with such lines as ‘you’ve deprived me of all my songs, you’ve drained me of all my words’ evoking the pain and emotion so accurately. ❤️🇬🇧
I found Lara before Dimash through “Broken Vow”. I still can’t listen to that one, years later, without sobbing.
It made me love them even more when I discovered Dimash and realized he and Lara are colleagues (thank you, Igor!).

Also as another poster has already mentioned Lara Fabian has been an idol of democracy since he was a young child. If you really pay attention I'm sure you can hear her influence on his performances in the way that they both completely embody the song and express the emotions of the song through their performances.

Btw, Fil, I don't if you know this, But you can change any language CC into English if you're watching on a PC by going to the Settings > Subtitles > there is supposed to be an auto-translate option there. If not try clicking on any language available in that setting > subtitles menu, usually, if you check again, the auto-translate will be there after that.
Beware, the auto-translation is horrible if the original CC itself is auto-generated ... But it's usually fine if it's a CC that they actually put there.

I love this and totally get why people are asking for English subtitles but there are people of many nations in the Fable sphere and Fil can't please everyone, does he have time to look for each particular video ? I'm thankful that we have such an awesome reaction channel here, I'm a Dimash addict ( love lara too) and happily listen to him singing native kazakh every day. I may not get the exact story of a song but I can certainly feel the emotional impact delivered by the singer, be it Dimash, Lara, So hyang etc, great music doesn't need words ... thanks again Fil, you are the best ...

I consider Lara Fabian one of the greatest European singers. Unfortunately, she is underestimated. Absolutely undeserved. But that's how life is. She is not only insanely beautiful and artistic. She is also a very decent person. Of course, it would be nice if you made English subtitles. The words of this song are very strong. But you were able to feel this song through the music. Bravo. une belle voix bien sùr mais ce que nous avons retenu de cette chanteuse en France c'était son coté expressif.....ses émotions étaient visibles....
Maybe what you prefere in Lara is the intonation, all the different colour and atmosphere and the warmer voice than Celine that is very noisy and perhaps more focused by the technique. Celine Dion when you hear her you think: What a voice, what a technique, such power ! And Lara, you have all of this, but is more than that: she's a story teller, every word is felt and you feel them too.
Rewatch this with English translation on screen and you will put the story together. You will feel the exact pain that this performance puts out!
