  • Welcome to our homebase Tour and what is a Bardominimum? In 2017 we sold our home in the suburbs and decided we wanted to create something that would foster our desire to travel and retire. We will tour our homebase and go over some of the costs as well. So come join us at the "Barndominium".

    Just learned about you guys on the Adventure Bandit’s Glamp Out. You mentioned a Barndo and of course this led to a subscribe and visit to see the tour. I want to do this so much down here in the Carolinas. I’m enjoying your tour as I write this comment. Good place for the black water drainage. We want a single level place like yours because this will be our “rest of our lives” home. We’d even be happy with something a bit smaller but definitely with the two garages. Thanks for the tips and tour. Love the rain chains too. Thanks also for that cost run down at the end…about what I expected. I know you guys are loving it.

      Thank you for your comment. Unfortunately I don’t remember the color but we went to a concrete supply store and purchased a concrete stain in which we sprayed the concrete after the pour. Sorry I couldn’t answer your question.

    Congratulations on the wonderful Home Base that you two have made for yourselves.
    Having a secure and enjoyable home base is essential for every RV’er.
    One of the smartest things that my wife and I did in our 7 years of full-time RV’ing was to purchase our golf course RV LOT in Juniper Ridge RV resort in Show Low, Arizona. It is such a good feeling after a long Rv trip to know that you have a nice home base to return to. ( We would also offset our traveling costs by renting out our lot to fellow rv’ers)

    This is what we want to do in about 5-10 years, heck maybe sooner but the market is out of control. Great size, nicely thought out and sounds like some great help along the way. I like the low maintenance build as that is needed when a long RV trip is in order.

    How did you find the crew that built your barn? Also live in Ohio and want to do a pole barn with apartment.

    • @ThoseWhoGlampTogether
      @ThoseWhoGlampTogether  ปีที่แล้ว

      I believe with most pole barn builders they supply the crew that erects the shell. Our builder had Amish crews bid on putting up our shell and we finished the rest of the build. If you have any more questions let us know! Good luck!

    Very cool. Never heard the term Barndominium before, but I've seen some homes made from metal buildings. I'm originally from northeast Ohio, Wooster in Wayne County, and moved to Florida six years ago. Do not miss all that snow and cold weather. Nice video showing your home.

    • @ThoseWhoGlampTogether
      @ThoseWhoGlampTogether  3 ปีที่แล้ว

    This is exactly what we are wanting to build for our home base in south Alabama! Is there anyway we can purchase the plans? Loved the video! My wife and I are school teachers who took a year leave of absence to travel the country for one year in our RV. We travel with our 8 year old boy. We will have to go back to work in August of 2020, but are working toward retirement in the short future. #changingtheview

    • @ThoseWhoGlampTogether

      Susan Warth thank you! Total square footage of home is 1500 sf, two bedrooms two full bathrooms. Total cost including land 173k/174k. There are many ways we could have saved more but we didn’t want to cut to many corners.

    • @ThoseWhoGlampTogether

      @@ThoseWhoGlampTogether awesome thank you so much. And to add things like plumbing, electricity , and water basically converging it into a house wouldn’t be an arm and a leg extra would it?

    • @ThoseWhoGlampTogether

      @@tr3slech3s it depends how much you want to do or hire out. We did some concrete prep work to help cut a small cost, but still hired it out. Plumbing we didn’t touch, that was hired out. Electrical we did all but the panel work.
