Hi guys!
I got a new foot! The first foot I tried was a College Park Trustep, and I didn't like it very much. The second foot I'm trying is the Freedom Innovations Renegade LP, and I like it a lot better.
This video shows me walking outside, up and down stairs and grassy inclines, ten days after getting my first check socket. How can see how much my walking has improved in such a short time #amputee #amputation #rehabilitation #occupationaltherapy #prosthetics #akamputee #bkamputee #disability #disabled #amputeewoman
Your video is brilliant! I just have my surgery and going through healing and watching your video gives me hope!
I am getting my btk prothectic in a few days! Her videos helped to answer a lot questions and concerns I had that no one could seem to be able answer. Thanks!
I recently became an amputee and I got to walk on my mock prosthetic it seemed alright but when I step on my tipy toes It hurts. I had my amputation 7/20/2022 looked up living as an amputee and your videos came up I have been watching your videos all day.
you walking like you still have your foot this is great! happy to see you better :)
So inspiring! I am hoping to video tape my journey, before and after the operation as well. It definitely helps those who are awaiting surgery, look forward to brighter days,. Thank you so much for sharing such informative videos! You RoCk!
To me it looks like hope when you walk! God bless! Thank you!
i think it's amazing how you help people by sharing your stories and making videos :)
I am so happy for you. This one looks like a natural fit.
I actually have a slightly sprained right ankle... I sprained it while on crutches before I got my amputation and it still hurts a little.
I walk like a duck because I have tight hip flexors... I'm working on that. I don't have any back or hip pain though.
I enjoy being able to help people by sharing my story!
Are u below or above the knee..
this is just totally awesome!! Very happy to see you walking around like a free spirit!! God bless you!!
I still have nerve pain. I don't know which would have resulted in less nerve pain.
I still take pain meds.
All of the nerves from the leg travel down to the foot, so there are less nerves in terms of sheer numbers, but the nerves are bigger because they all eventually branch out into the nerves of the foot. Hope that helps.
Congratulations! You are walking so well! Do you notice, that you have a little rotation of your prosthetic foot inside? Does your stump still hurts somertimes? How does your stump feel with your prosthesis on? Please can you make a video about your new socket? Do you still use your crutches sometimes?
You rock. I just became a trauma induced right BK and am about to be fitted with my first leg. Your videos are great and very helpful.
It's really incredible to watch how fast your progress is! Hope you'll find the perfect foot soon and everything continues to heal well and behave the way you want it to :)
If I didn't know you were an amputee, just by watching you walk down the street or climb that hill, I would never have noticed. Seriously. You are one talented lady.
It is awesome to see that you are able to walk again! - Sorry I am very curious: How does it feel to have this prosthesis on? Is there a simmilarity, to a special kind of shoe or something? How could you know where your prosthetic foot "is" at the moment when you walk?
Honestly you cant really tell, you walk really good. Thanks for the video.
Looks like it works nice. Is way cooler than the bad foot.
Hi Congrats OT,I have told u this before, but once again THANKS for the video's! DO still have all the nerve&phantom pain?Is the pain worse with the BK amputation or better then if you would of kept some little bit of the foot?Do you still take pain meds or is that all done? The foot has so many nerves, does the below knee have less nerves? THANKS !
Looks like Christine is enjoying herself immensely she certainly wouldn't have been able to do any of the above had she tried to keep her foot or any part of it.
I’m glad you did so well, it wasn’t like that for me...had my leg 6 months and still going physio
Nice to see how great you are doing.Morris
Also I started out with a Freedom Innovations Renegade MX now I have a regular Renegade. I was wondering why you need a Low profile Renegade. I'm guessing that your residual limb is really long. My residual limb is 8 inches below my knee cap but I'm 6'1" so mine is probably huge compared to yours. Keep up the good work. One day you will be able to wear pants and no one with be the wiser that you have a prosthetic.
U seem to get really good on ur prosthesis
It was pretty neat how you had Predator camouflage for a few seconds there.
You're doing great
Your walking really good... It will also get better.
Looking good....keep up the good work
I admire your strenght and positive thoughts, ;)
great work christine a lil limp bit thats normal for 1st week week thats how i was but focus when u walk on not limping i cant wait till i get my prosthesis june 6th ill take a video of my first step in a bk :D
How is your phantom pain/sensation level? Can you include this info in your rapports?
Are you still on pain meds?
I just noticed on your Facebook Page that some of your posts say "near Saint Louis, MO".. so there's my answer :)
Hi, I am very new to this. Just wondering how many hours a day you can walk with your first prosthesis in the first few weeks.
CONGRATULATIONS!!! :D
Stupid question, do they make prosthetic boots for walking on snow and ice?
I recon you could probably just put on snow boots
That's the gait of someone who's stiff from being stuck in a cramped seat for hours.
I've read somewhere that pros. legs don't work well unless the phantom is "awake". Does your phantom ever go away? If so, when it does, is it hard to walk?
Wow your doing great
I am a new ammputee how did u get the good leg strong mine is weak
Hello there I'm Anthony I am a right BK. Your gate looks very good. I have been an amputee for about 2 and a half years and I started out on a pin lock system. I don't know if your prosthetist has talked to you about what a pin lock system does to your residual limb. It kinda milks the distal end and creates excess skin. I now am in a vacuum system and it works great. I would love to give you any advice or answer any questions you may have. Check out my channel and I have a few videos. Take care
Awesome progress!
BTW, not trying to be mean but you walk like you have a sprained ankle, your left "ankle". Like I watch it and I feel phantom feeling of a sprained ankle, like a sympathy pain, and also lower back / hip / thigh pinching pain. But I suppose it's just me with my crazy brain.
wow your sooo cool. I would find it hard to walk in that u look sooooo cool
What time after your surgery did u take ur first steps? Curious. I am facing a BKA soon.
I'm scheduled for prosthesis surgery sometime next year. No kidding. Can anyone tell how much those legs cost?
Klass👍👍👍👍
im still waiting for my prosthetic leg
Is yours a K2 or K3 prosthetic
K3
I understand you want to maintain some privacy, but to relate to you better, what city or state do you live in?
The good go to heaven, the bad go to hell. So with stairs, on a bad day your right foot should go up the stairs first and coming down, the left foot first.
do you enjoy being an amputee and having a prosthetic leg ??
It looks like your foot rolls in.
I've had my Prosthetic leg since Feb. 23. I'm having a hard time learning to walk with it. If I tried half the shit she was doing here, I'd be on my ass so fast it wouldn't be funny. But then of course I'm at least twice as old as this girl is.
Try to walk really really slow, it's one of most difficult think's to do...
If i was a amputee I would pick a cyborg foot/feet.
I guess you just put on boot on the foot, like everybody else. :)
I wanted to see you jump and do back flips
You're wrapping inwards your "living" foot and it's unhealthy, it comes that you are better walking in your artifactal foot than on real one :P
Limping
