The little beast did a great job. I can easily see why it is a must for every street photographer. The shots came out awesome. My favorite one is no. 12. Warm weather, a good coffee and a well deserved waffle 😉. Great job 👏👏👏
Many thanks Mauro ! I will go to Rome in April and I am so excited ! My next video was shot at the Belgian coastline in Ostend and that's such a rich place to photograph street. I definitely recommend it. I would say it's even richer than Brussels and Antwerp :) Grazie !
Always enjoy your contributions, I recently bought a used Fuji x70, like you say, to be able to slip a camera into your pocket is far better than having to carry a bag to accommodate something larger, especially in warmer weather. Pics 1 and 3 really stood ahead of the others i thought.
Quality post and pics, Octavian. Mix of your standard style and a few new ones, like 3 (something different). Fav is 11 for perspective and long shadows. Agree w/your Ricoh comments. Batteries are small and light enough to make it easy to carry a few extras. Cam form factor makes it easy to carry, but buttons are small enough to pose a challenge. Nice waffle. Too small a napkin - bet it was messy😁. Say hi to Tibo. Hope recent events haven’t made things difficult or more expensive.
Thank you Paul ! :) Buttons are small and a bit annoying as well but I guess it's just take time to get used with if you don't have XXL hands :D. The waffle was nasty and messy but very good ! :). I will see Tibo in two weeks or so and will say hi. Btw next video is with Tibo at Belgian coast :). Thanks !
Once again, amazing pictures. Good to see the sun out. The Ricoh (and the Fuji X100) is a great option for those who can not afford or are unwilling to spend on a Q2. I think the gap in quality between the Q2 and other cameras is substantial.
If you had to pick 1 and only 1… would you pick the gr iii or the gr iiix ? Looking to buy one or the other myself. I already have a Sony a7iii just looking for something to carry around everyday .
Personally I would go for the GR III because I am more used with this the focal length . It's really up to you what you prefer in terms of focal length :)
Hi Alain :) It really depends on YOUR needs. With the Fuji XE4 you can change the lens so if you are not comfortable shooting at 40 mm you can always swithc. Fuji it's a little better built but also bigger. Batter lasts longer and it has an optical EVF which is not great. Finally I got the Fuji because I love the simulations and I got an 18mm f2 as well :) It really depends on your needs and on your style of shooting :)

Hi Jon ! Hahah no actually I was teasing my friend Tibo, he shoots a lot there close to the station and it became his spot, so I when I shoot there I need to ask his permission :)) more of a joke between us
I too just purchased the GR3X .... Interesting to see what others shoot with this camera...I agree with you about the battery issue..it's not good but at least your shots turn out pretty good 👍 I noticed that alot of other people compare it to the Leica brand...this is interesting because there is so many other camera brands that get singled out here... Like many others, the same Jess is the battery life and like so many others, but he best way to get ars this problem is to purchase a second (or third) battery for the camera.
Hello Will ! I hope you are njoying your GR3X :) It's such a fun camera to shoot with and somehow it has it's individuality and can't be compared to a Leica or a Fuji, it has it's place there. You probably need more than 2-3 batteries :) Thanks for your feedback !
@@OctavianCarare yes, I think Ricoh had "size" in mind when they developed their digital GR series. I think they could have been a bit more generous in overall size of the camera and therefore gone bigger in the battery size. I compared the battery side by side of two AAA batteries and they came pretty close to size. Before I close my comment/reply here, there's one really peculiar issue I also noticed with the battery...if you charge it fully and don't turn on the camera for several days, the battery stays fully charged. I know that's the same as saying that if you fill your gas tank up and don't drive your car, of course the gas tank will remain full...I get that but usually batteries for most techy stuff - be it camera's, cellular phones... usually drop in charge if not used anyways over time. The battery life of the Ricoh strangely enough has a very low depletion when not in use. You would assume that the battery life would drop dead after 1-2 days sitting on the shelf unused closely in relation to using the camera.
I just got my Gr3x as well ! As you said the battery isn’t that good enough….but still I love it so much , still finding some filter recipe , may I know which filter are you using or your own recipe ? It all looks amazing!
Hi there Lakis ! I made a video with my settings on Leica Q2, a year ago or so :) nothing has changed meanwhile. Shooting mostly at f9 - f11, iso 800, shutter speed min 1/200 .
Alors.

Hello Octavian, nice images and #3 is my favorite. Belgium looks like a wonderful set for street photography. Ciao!

@@OctavianCarare tiny and truly pocketable. They made them for 1 year only 2016. Held their value a quality x70 around £530
Nice set-up. This is getting serious! 😉

Thanks for watching :) x70 is slightly bigger right?

Thanks a lot for your answer! I’m a huge fan of the GR “philosophy” , so I think I’ll take the 3X.
Another good set. Do you set exposure for the brightest part of the scene? Glad to see you had a waffle. Tell us how we can help to get you to 10000.
