    No better explanation on the internet. Nate is a very calm and knowledgeable person that's easy to learn from. We've disagreed on a couple things and have had extremely calm and productive conversations about it. It was an honor and privilege to donate to his shop and I'd do it again in a heartbeat.
    The edit is to say that if you have a question and email him he WILL get back to you despite how busy he is, and I'm my opinion that shows that he really does care about the archery community

    I’ve been shooting a bow for many years and have been setting up my own bows in most part and I will have to say that you do a lot of stuff differently with your setups. For instance I’ve never set up my bow and just threw on a whisker biscuit to shoot a bunch of arrows to settle the strings or even shoot without a peep to get my pins set first. I like those ideas. It goes to show that archery is always a learning process. This is a really good video. You got in depth with this set up and was really clear with what you done and why. Good job.

    Great video, I just bought a new bow (hopefully gets here tomorrow) and I have been watching loads of videos trying to learn all this stuff so I can set it up myself. Your video is probably the most in depth one I’ve seen and you touched on some things that none of the other ones even thought to mention. Keep up the good work, I’m learning a lot from you.

    Had the bow set up at a pro shop. It performed just fine th-cam.com/users/postUgkxQEKUoxLWwayEDZR0NKB-5limn4MBU-2L . And I would say this is a good starting now that I could pass down to my son when he is older.But the package was missing the release and a nock was missing from one arrow.Dealing with customer support was terrible. They suggested I buy a new release rather than correct their own quality control issue because it’s to expensive for the. to ship it out from China.Update: manufacturer got back to me and resolved the issue. I retract the above statement.

    I use the rubber band to get the peep height too.
    After trying various peep sizes.. I went too small and reamed out to the desired size.
    I also sharpie mark my peep and cam position just so I can tell at an instant if anything has moved.
    I have never had a shop tune or setup my bows. I learned how to do it myself.

    I would like to know why everyone uses half hitches on D loops? I've used clench knots and the only difference seems to be the clench sets easier and lines up with the string better. Am I missing something, does the clench knot get to tight? Just wondering if there is explanation to support using one knot over the other. I've tried both can't tell a difference shooting. I use the half hitch only because everyone else uses it.

    Thank you 🙏🏻 very much Mr. Sellers on taking us to Bow Tech class today. Once my wife and I get out of an apartment and into a house 🏡 with hopefully a garage or a walk in basement that I can use as a shop, I definitely want to be able to set up our bows, build arrows etc… so this is helpful.
    I like the rubber band trick for figuring out the peep placement. My new bow doesn’t have an anchor aid like a kisser button, but I was thinking 🤔 of adding the Bowmar nose 👃 button to make sure that I don’t apply to much face pressure.
    I just put on a two piece quiver from PRIME for my PRIME Black 3, it’s heavy duty stainless steel. So I may have to add a back bar, especially if I want to take it out west.
    Thank you 🙏🏻 again for sharing your wealth of information. 🏹🦌

    IS IT SAFE TO ASSUME...
    When you have a "Binary Cam Sys,"
    The string has been stretched,
    Both Cams are Exactly the same in their rotation when the string is at rest...
    That the Nocking point/D-Loop will be at the center or middle of the string when folded or where the string length is divided by 2?
    For example: if the string length is 50, the nocking point/d-loop will be at 25?

    • @averagejackarchery
      @averagejackarchery  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I have never setup a bow with the "center of the string" mentality. I actually have a video on the topic debunking the myth. Riser geometry has a much bigger role in nocking point location than the string and cam style.

    WRT installing the sight and peep position - I didn't fully get what you were saying about tying in the peep differently for those planning to shoot longer distances or using a slider sight. Should the peep be slightly higher for those people?

    • @averagejackarchery
      @averagejackarchery  3 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      If you scope is set lower (i.e. you're trying to reach further shot distances) you peep will usually be set lower to help accommodate that. Then, when the scope gets move up for those shorter shot, you have to "bear down" into the peep a little bit to fudge the anchor point to see through it. But this is truly for those wanting to push 70-100 yards on the norm. Most guys can setup their bows to shoot 20-60 with a peep set to a 30 yard area with the scope and cover to 60 no problem.
