- It starts off with Mark meeting the woman who helped Petey reintegrate his Outtie and his Innie. He also finds out that while it seemed as though the procedure was actually quite dangerous, the woman tells him that it was really just the fact that Petey didn't do things the right way after the operation. Of course, it turns out that if Petey hadn't done exactly what he did, Lumon might not be on the brink of collapse.
For the first time since Severance began, things took a real and violent turn and not in a non-specific way. In doing so, a couple of different times, the audience is getting a real look into what's at stake when it comes to the procedure and the people that order such a thing to happen. Of course, it's still not entirely clear why things are apparently as high risk as they are, but the show does a marvelous job in this episode and really throughout the series in making the audience believe that it's not remotely out of the realm of possibility that what happens, needed to happen.
That was intense, great acting and cinematography
I like how the interior of the company is all 2001: A Space Odyssey, wide open sterile interiors, and it's contrasted with the messy, chaotic outside world, which feels more claustrophobic
I fucking loved this scene. It could have been straight out of Mr Robot or Utopia. Did NOT expect it to turn out the way it did!
Utopia mention
i love when shows start with a light theme to end up slowly showing the true face 🙏 part of the reason mr robot is my alltime favorite
I like Grayners dirty grin when he's like "Hello Mr. Scout, we work together."
His British accent slipped through on "Mr. Scout" lol
I hope she comes back with a much larger role. Very interesting and I wanna see if she can help the others.
Yes, we need to understand how she went from a loyal Lumon surgeon to its most serious opposition.
She's the only one who can let them be free
She's confirmed to be back for season 2!
Seems she is
The fact he ended up throwing up is going to come back to haunt him in the second season I reckon
He ended up not throwing up though...
@@powerhour5823 He threw up outside didn’t he? Just before the opening credits of the episode. 4:12
I'm longing for the second season
@@18155456 outside in another alley bro. There probably tons of other nasty stuff
@DanielMcRae-x7j hope you're enjoying it! :]
And now she's back in S2 Ep3
About time they bring her back
I think this was the first (of many) true WTF moments in this show. I didn’t know how it was going to go but definitely not straight up murder
This is the inevitable result when you try and suppress the human spirit. I can’t wait to see how much darker the second season gets. Lumon is pure evil.
I love 3:17, “he’ll know what to do” “..Who?” “…You.”
I dont remember any of this, I need to rewatch season one again
3:55 - now GEDDAFUGOUTTAHERE
Always think of the captain of the police department where babylegs works from that Rick and Morty episode
Graner is going to come back in season 2 with a chip that reghabi puts in him and uses to control him. I mean he already kinda looks like Frankenstein...
Reghabi didn’t come to play.
Graner in this scene reminded me of Philip Seymour Hoffman in Talented Mr. Ripley. "Tommy Tommy Tommy Tommy Tommy..."
Reghabi's eyes freak me out. Intense stare.
1:42 iykyk
accessory after the fact
From the trailer it looks as though he may have the chip removed when he enters the severed floor
2:21
This scene is probably the weakest one in the show. Everyone is brought in to the world without their permission. Focusing on what might be behind Lumon's motivations, instead of the supposition about his "innie", would have been more interesting. The way she offed Doug was also pretty weak.
Everyone is brought into the world without their permission, but not everyone is brought into the world by a cult corporation that wants to enslave all of humanity with implanted brain chips.
she's actually an anti-natalist
If the innie was free to do whatever they please then sure, everyone is brought into the world without permission. The difference is the innie exists only in a purgatory that they can't leave short of death (retirement). That's monstrous, regardless of whatever else Lumon is up to
not even close to the same lmao. The innie is trapped and has no freedom.
Fair. But the bit about bringing his innie into the world without his permission is pretty clever and fun when you realise its the antinatalist position, ie the argument that having children is selfish and unethical.
