Imagine being in there for 8 hours, taking a quick walk to the elevator, and then waking up in the elevator to then walk back to the break room for another 8 hours. That is how you aptly named *break* these innies into submission. What we don't see is what happens if innies keep on screwing up. There could be worse torture, whether it be psychological or physical.
It would have to be psychological, or if it were physical it’d have to not leave a mark or any significant lasting pain, otherwise it’d affect the Outtie
In one scene we see Mark head into the break room and it doesn't show us what happens, but it cuts to his outie's knuckles being red and messed up. They definitely hurt them in there but enough to lie to their outie's about it being anything serious.
@@bolococo honestly to me tb at type of torture is somehow worse than just outright getting beat. It seems more prolonged and mentally draining the way they do it….Kinda like work….
After listening to the Severance podcast. It's interesting that behind the scenes, that voice in the background is actually a Vladimir Putin speech, played backwards and muffled.
he does, pretty much all the higher ups know who she is on the outside. That's why he was taking so many pictures of them, at the end when she's walking towards the stage for her speech we see those pics being displayed. Her outie is definitely okay with this being done to the innie, it seems like outie Helly is probably the most evil one in the show
The fact she reads it over 1000 times confirms my theory that time does not run at the same speed on the severed floor as it does in the outside world.
They'll never be let out. Because of the way severance works, they're kept in that room for 8 hours, walked to the elevator, stand in the elevator for like 3 seconds, then are walked back to the room for another 8 hours. It never ends.
@@Crossbones6732 that whole spot has like what? Two guards. They’re gonna have to catch hands the whole 8 hours. If all I know is that job, then all I know is fighting you. Eventually dude would catch an L.
@@morganbrown392 You could probably win one shift, then Lumon has 16 hours to prepare for your next one. Maybe your Outie starts wearing handcuffs or a straitjacket in the elevator. Good luck.
What if Milchick, knowing full well who Helly really is (her outie, I mean), is using this to enact some vengeance of his own for something Lumon did to him? Perhaps he even went through this exact process years earlier and never realised he would have the opportunity to do it to Helena Egan.

@@nechdaught3412 which is done by them when Mark and his team go to see the O&D department, his hand gets bruised pretty ugly
They avoid physical because then outies won't be willing. The corporate facade is the illusion of control
I still feel like this is just the tip of the iceberg for discipline at lumen. They probably do way worse if employees keep acting up

thats the horror of it, you can inflict a ton of pain on someone mentally and physically but not do a lot of damage.
@@bolococoThat was from him punching the dude at petey’s daughter’s concert, you got the memory of a goldfish or something?

As Russian guy it's hilarious 🤣I'd be nervous, too
But like.. why? What’s the reason for it lol
@@louisianimal24 well I guess how he runs russia is like how Lumon is ran
This is genuinely one of the most fked up scenes in the show. My god.

I feel dam. This show how well it was made. The puzzle with the show is puzzling. It harm and self harm and numbness is hard to quit.
wtf
the puzzle is puzzling? 💀
What annoys me is that they're still rigid about the whole 9-5 thing.
They've got to be, Their outie wouldn't accept losing out on their time at home and getting out of the elevator at different hours.
@@ynwajft9612 I mean in the sense that the hours are annoyingly long. Some hellish things about the real world never change.
Anyone out there with experience... Is this what it's like to go through the Church of Scientology Clearing method?
That is what it reminded me of. Seems like all of the structure of the Lumon is inspired by scientology.

How? 1000 times over the course of 2 days doesn't seem unreasonable.

What’s keeping them from just not saying anything? The black dude can’t hurt them right?
