Upsicron The biggest theory for RWBY is that Ozpin is the wizard who granted the maidens their powers... possibly also the wizard that gifted those with silver eyes, since he knows that legend very well too. He, like Salem, are also incredibly knowledgeable about the world; Salem knows all the natural history whilst Ozpin knows the history of civilizations. I'm thinking perhaps Ozpin also created Salem/the Grimm but doesn't want to admit it due to its tendency to kill humans.
Upsicron Ozpin would most likely be his "magic" if he is the wizard from the tale... if not then perhaps its just extreme speed/strength since he was able to keep up with Cinder. And before anyone says it, its not the bubble shield, watching frame-by-frame shows that he activated that through his cane. As for Jaune, not a clue. They've been trying to find that out in the show since it began but its never been revealed. Possibly something to do with courage, since he knows he is the weakest student there but was still able to take on two (three?) alphas/ultras and was so shamelessly able to walk into the ball with a dress despite everyone laughing.

+The Panda Ushanka Weapons for combat have more uses than to just kill. Besides, a scythe wasn't originally a weapon; it was a tool for reaping grain. Someone came up with the Grim Reaper using a scythe as a tool to reap souls and then some spearmen took that idea and made a fighting style for it, making the idea of a scythe being a weapon popular. Either way, I think a scythe being used as a fishing rod would be as efficient as a scythe being used as a weapon. It would be ineffective at the job, but it would be an art that's fun to master.

I wasn't familiar with Monty... I knew,he did the animations but never knew his name till the day he passed.... Then I watched rwby, just saw it for,the first time last monday, and I've been hooked,and,wat he'd volumes 1 & 2 for the past week I'm HOOKED, but it's maddening and saddening knowing it,won't continue and will slowly fade into internet legend and forever more,be a crowning, achievement for him... Monty oum, you were a genius waiting to bloomand you bloomed to late. Your work with the CGI in RvB and,in RWBY was amazing. Its sad to know that they lost pure talent over at RT and that there's one less creative soul who can flourish in what they loved in the world. I was a little skeptical about this show at first, but after approaching it and discovering it has it's own... unique charm to it. Sure, the episodes in the first season are only like six minutes long so it'll feel like the pacing is oddly off and a little rushed, but it does tell a good story and some of the action is genuinely awesome to experience and get emotionally invested into. And the music is really great, probably the best parts of the show actually. Plus, the characters are all unique and interesting, and watching them develop is a delight so I would definitely recommend this to anybody who just likes anime. Probably definitely gonna buy the DVD volumes when they all come out. I secretly love the nodding reference they make to Red vs. Blue in the opening first episode of season 2

Coming back to this song after volume 6 and seeing how the plot of them being used and fighting for no purpose was hear all along and makes me feel better with the direction of the show knowing that was part of Monty’s vision , also this is probably my favorite of all the intros

People cosplay RWBY at cons, and not just US Cons, but all over the world. It's not SnK, and it's not SAO levels of popularity, but then again, do you really want it to be? It has the recognition, it has the popularity it needs, the viewers.. It doesn't need to be SAO-level popular. The fact it's a bit more niche and not as well known also adds to the fact it's more fun, IMO :P

currently having a breakdown rn. No idea how im feeling exactly, i just know its bad. I havent been caught up with rwby lore for like 5+ years, but ive always loved the ost. I cant believe its been years, I really enjoyed this show for a while, but it felt like it lost its touch around season 4 (I think, whenever the school was destroyed). It felt like the show had been drained, there was too much to take in, its really sad
There's actually a lot of hints in the music foreshadowing what's gonna happen in the later volumes. Here is my evidence: There are loads of references to something evil rising or awakening ("beware as the dark returns";"...as evil just grows closer") so it's possible that there's some kind of Grimm awakening going on. This would also be backed by "our enemies are gathering" if you wanna look at it that way. This could be a plot point in later episodes. Another more obvious foreshadowing would be the fact that a war is coming. If it isn't obvious with their constant mention of being in a time of peace in the show, it's obvious through the music. Here are some notable quotes: "are we weapons pointed at the enemy so someone else can claim a victory" "your world needs a great defender" "your worlds in the way of harm". Then, of course there's the song die. Pretty much the whole song foreshadows a war. Here is a few of many many quotes: "Every heart's not filled with love for mankind" "The machines of war will fuel both sides" And, the most potent quote: "Farewell to days of peace..." So im 99% sure that a war will come at some point. Some smaller notes: "Beware that the light is fading" could foreshadow something happening to yang or Nora, since both represent light Pyyrha or Jaune is going to die at some point. Don't ask me how I know, it's too much to fit in a youtube comment. Basically though, a lot of it's based off the legends they are based off. Jaune is Joan of arc, who burns to death(watch out for cinder, Jaune) and Pyyrha is based off Achilles, who dies from an arrow. (Once again, watch out for cinder)
That's a [retty good possibility. Besides, it's been confirmed through the whole entire show that a war IS coming, and it would be kindof a waste to just not have one with all the bad guys and Grimm we met.

I like to think that this stanza is talking about the internal fight between our moral limits and our greed. Either way both are unpleasant, but sometimes you just have to pretend that the things going on around you are smaller than they really are.

Then I watched rwby, just saw it for,the first time last monday, and I've been hooked,and,wat he'd volumes 1 & 2 for the past week I'm HOOKED, but it's maddening and saddening knowing it,won't continue and will slowly fade into internet legend and forever more,be a crowning, achievement for him... Monty oum, you were a genius waiting to bloomand you bloomed to late. Your work with the CGI in RvB and,in RWBY was amazing.
Its sad to know that they lost pure talent over at RT and that there's one less creative soul who can flourish in what they loved in the world.

I like how fast paced it is, and that nothing is neglected unless there is a reason to be later addressed.
I was a little skeptical about this show at first, but after approaching it and discovering it has it's own... unique charm to it. Sure, the episodes in the first season are only like six minutes long so it'll feel like the pacing is oddly off and a little rushed, but it does tell a good story and some of the action is genuinely awesome to experience and get emotionally invested into. And the music is really great, probably the best parts of the show actually. Plus, the characters are all unique and interesting, and watching them develop is a delight so I would definitely recommend this to anybody who just likes anime. Probably definitely gonna buy the DVD volumes when they all come out.

I never seen the guy much, but he was one of the most amazing and inspirational people I knew and we lost him forever,but even though he's gone, he's still in our heart and he left something amazing down in this world, and that is RWBY, so I wish he could see this to see how much we all miss him.
RWBY should get WAY more attention than shit like Sword art online, or Attack on Titan. Cause the writers of Rwby are absolutely brilliant with tons of symbolism and a huge theory pool in the fanbase

It's not SnK, and it's not SAO levels of popularity, but then again, do you really want it to be? It has the recognition, it has the popularity it needs, the viewers.. It doesn't need to be SAO-level popular. The fact it's a bit more niche and not as well known also adds to the fact it's more fun, IMO :P

I cant believe its been years, I really enjoyed this show for a while, but it felt like it lost its touch around season 4 (I think, whenever the school was destroyed). It felt like the show had been drained, there was too much to take in, its really sad

There's actually a lot of hints in the music foreshadowing what's gonna happen in the later volumes. Here is my evidence:
There are loads of references to something evil rising or awakening ("beware as the dark returns";"...as evil just grows closer") so it's possible that there's some kind of Grimm awakening going on. This would also be backed by "our enemies are gathering" if you wanna look at it that way. This could be a plot point in later episodes. Another more obvious foreshadowing would be the fact that a war is coming. If it isn't obvious with their constant mention of being in a time of peace in the show, it's obvious through the music. Here are some notable quotes: "are we weapons pointed at the enemy so someone else can claim a victory" "your world needs a great defender" "your worlds in the way of harm". Then, of course there's the song die. Pretty much the whole song foreshadows a war. Here is a few of many many quotes:
"Every heart's not filled with love for mankind"
"The machines of war will fuel both sides"
And, the most potent quote:
"Farewell to days of peace..."
So im 99% sure that a war will come at some point. Some smaller notes:
"Beware that the light is fading" could foreshadow something happening to yang or Nora, since both represent light
Pyyrha or Jaune is going to die at some point. Don't ask me how I know, it's too much to fit in a youtube comment. Basically though, a lot of it's based off the legends they are based off. Jaune is Joan of arc, who burns to death(watch out for cinder, Jaune) and Pyyrha is based off Achilles, who dies from an arrow. (Once again, watch out for cinder)
That's a [retty good possibility. Besides, it's been confirmed through the whole entire show that a war IS coming, and it would be kindof a waste to just not have one with all the bad guys and Grimm we met.
War will be coming, but i don't know about the character death part. But i do know a lot of shit is going down in season 3.

Internet is a far superior media and by having quality stuff for free on the internet that's how people will finally understand that television sucks (well we have to wait one or two generation to die of old age before that happens). Television is the realm of propaganda and it's where artistic creations are bent to correspon to the needs of television formats.
Really that would be a bad thing if rwby did end up on TV.
