You may or may not make a bit of money on them but you will certainly enjoy working on them and then have two bikes that could really help people who need some cheap transport. A great benefit to the environment is the bikes not being scrapped and instead going on to be used again. All in all what's not to like??

@NorthDevonModelSociety your right theres certainly a better market for a 125 vs a 250 although the 250 is a nice bike 😅 I guess we will see as the videos go on, untill I get into them and see exactly what's needs doing I have no idea really how much needs spending, thanks for watching 🤟
The yamaha dragstar 250 is becoming very desirable, more people will pay for a older Japanese 250 over a Chinese bike. Also the fact not many Japanese small cruiser bike's are not made anymore, is pushing us the value as people do want them now,
Where the hell are you from, really like the accent. I am from the states CA. I am an old bastard,76 years old And I have never seen that twin , is. it Chinese? I think I saw one on a video from Australia. His was a barn find., same condition as your bike.
@Kordziel I'm from swansea in Wales I'm surprised to hear someone say they like the accent 🤣 it's a yamaha 250 dragstar so from what I can gather it's just a smaller version of their V Twin that they use in that bike they make it as small as a 125cc
@@SamsAutoAssortium I apologize for my ignorance, the Welch were a major addition to the forming of this country. They were miners when they came to the US.. They had , and I think it's continued, is the choirs they used to sing in the mines in the Mother lode of CA . It was gold mining. That Yamaha is not available here in the states,it may be in Canada though. I have seen a Chinese clone of the engine in a chopper ,. What keeps it out of the states is the fact that it probably won't pass emissions. Air cooled bikes have a hard time with emissions, do to not being able to get a constant temperature in the engine, that is why many bikes are water-cooled. Glad to meet you. Pete .
Thanks, the locket seems pretty cheap but the rust on the swing arms and stuff is more concerning for me not sure if it just surface or not yet, I'll most likely change the lock set and see if I can get it to run

i would,nt bother with the lexmoto .i,ve had experience with these zsb ,it is a complete bag of shite .and not worth spending on parts ,that,s if you can find any ,as they dont make the zsb anymore . we used to have 2 of these lexmoto,s zsb for doing cbt,s . and as soon as 3 years of not needing a mot ran out ,we got rid . one of the worst bikes ,we ever used ,proper boneshakers . as for the yammi ,that has a chance .
It's a yamaha 250 dragstar it's which is a virago witch a bit of different styling from what I've read online worth over a grand running with an MOT so not bad if I can fix it for a couple hundred pound 🤞 but this isn't all about profit it's just fun working on bikes and helps if I get them cheap to start with 😅
@SamsAutoAssortium indeed, my brother does the same and has worked upto some nice bikes, keep doing what you love, personally I'd love to see more bikes but I'm a bike guy😊
The dragstars have been getting over 4 grand with high mileage now, he's done very well on that bike. Yamaha dragstar is a thousand time's better made bike than the virago and a better ride with a massive after market sale's on part's. Highway hawk make custom part's just for this bike.

Why have you flopped the video left to right? The number plate is a mirror image at 2:20 Looking at them, the lex will cost more to scrap than it cost, and the Honda will cost more to restore than it will sell for. They do not even look worth stripping and selling on eBay for the parts. .

@TringmotionCoUk that's never an ideal position to be in, I'm currently in a dilemma with the ignition for the yamaha as a genuine one is £500 for a new one and the knock off ones are all american spec so they don't come with the correct wiring for the bike 😅
@@SamsAutoAssortium it would be worth going to an auto keys specialist at that price. @NorthDevonModelSociety yeah they aren't super desirable bikes but I think I'll do a bit better than break even but it's not really about the profit though it's just a bit of fun and some new bikes to work on 🤟
@@SamsAutoAssortium I can only agree with you, up to a point. I've bought basket cases and restored them to roadworthy condition. I've never made a profit on any of the bikes I've done. The pleasure comes from saving a bike from the scrapyard and then riding it for a couple of years. That's how I got my monies worth out of them.
The 125 is more saleable than the 250, but the Yamaha has more kudos than the Lexmoto. Both are going to cost money to put back on the road. The question is: Not how much profit I'll make, but how much of a loss am I prepared to accept?
@NorthDevonModelSociety your right theres certainly a better market for a 125 vs a 250 although the 250 is a nice bike 😅 I guess we will see as the videos go on, untill I get into them and see exactly what's needs doing I have no idea really how much needs spending, thanks for watching 🤟
The yamaha dragstar 250 is becoming very desirable, more people will pay for a older Japanese 250 over a Chinese bike. Also the fact not many Japanese small cruiser bike's are not made anymore, is pushing us the value as people do want them now,
Which auction were they from?
I think it was the one where Del Boy got rid of those broken lawn mower parts😂.
🤣🤣🤣
Where the hell are you from, really like the accent. I am from the states CA. I am an old bastard,76 years old
And I have never seen that twin , is.
Pete
.
I think they were a good buy even in parts alone worth decent money
I agree, especially the yamaha im looking forward to getting it running 🤟
There's a strong reason nobody else bid
A lesson I've learned the hard way time and time again 😅
Full lock set for the lexmoto is less than 30
Thanks, the locket seems pretty cheap but the rust on the swing arms and stuff is more concerning for me not sure if it just surface or not yet, I'll most likely change the lock set and see if I can get it to run
@@SamsAutoAssortium they are selling everything very cheap bud, I was shocked how cheap if your looking to sort it up a bit
I'll take a look I've been trying to sort the locks on the yamaha first to see if the bike is a runner so I'll turn my attention the the lexmoto in the next couple of days 🤟
I have absolutely no idea.
Neither do I and I think they will only get worse before they get better 😅
Spent £500 on the Lexmoto and you should get a fiver for it.
I don't plan to spend anything on the lexmoto if I can avoid it. That can be someone else's project 😅
£184 damn dude you ripped yourself off
Maybe on the lexmoto I did but I still think the yamaha is a good buy for that price 😅
They're really not in bad shape lolololololol 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 they look like they have just been dragged out the canal hahahahaha..
Guess I was being a bit on the optimistic side... they turned out to be much worse than they look if you watch the later videos 😅😅
@@SamsAutoAssortium there's normally a reason why no bids were made.. lol, I'm guessing you are learning this now..
I can see why no one else bid but they were still a solid investment 😅😅
How much was the fuel to go get these.
Not sure exactly but my van ran at just over 40mpg there and back so I was pretty impressed with that 👍
No wonder no one else bid 😂😂
🤣
Think you was robbed mate
That's one way to look at it I suppose 😅
If they paid you they wouldn't be cheap
But has gained in he’s channel blowing up and hitting 1k subscribers. That’s priceless for someone who is doing TH-cam 🎉🎉🎉
Thanks, I couldn't have said it better myself even if I make nothing fixing and selling the bikes this was still a solid investment for my channel 🤟🤟
Not trash talking your chanel and wish you all the best with it.but with all your energy and enthusiasm put it to a better use and get better projects with a monetary reward aswell as satisfaction of just getting it running.you know the saying about polishing a turd.@SamsAutoAssortium
Sort your mullet out 😂
@simonwhite1965 it has gotten a bit out of controll 😅🤣
i would,nt bother with the lexmoto .i,ve had experience with these zsb ,it is a complete bag of shite .and not worth spending on parts ,that,s if you can find any ,as they dont make the zsb anymore . we used to have 2 of these lexmoto,s zsb for doing cbt,s . and as soon as 3 years of not needing a mot ran out ,we got rid . one of the worst bikes ,we ever used ,proper boneshakers . as for the yammi ,that has a chance .
Yeah the lexmoto won't be an ongoing thing I'll be doing some basics to see if I can get it to run and then it can be someone else's project 😅
Lexmoto shite poor YBR copy ok as cheap bike for learner if running the twin is that virago 250 copy? get em running but dont expact much of profit
This vids had some views mate
It done alot better than I ever imagined it would it's pushed my channel to a place I thought it would take me a couple of years to get to so Thanks for taking the time to watch :)
You was robbed mate ! Add the cost of collecting and you have well and truly done your nutts 😂
Even with the cost of fuel I still say they were a bargain 😅
@@SamsAutoAssortium want to bet ?
@DMDyoutube123 well seeing as this was over a month ago and I already know the outcome I fancy my odds 😅🤣
@@SamsAutoAssortium did you turn them around for a profit ??
That lexmoto is a copy of the ybr
Thanks should make it easy to get parts for then if I do anything with it 👍
@@SamsAutoAssortium on the Yamaha make sure the battery is charged up
then find the block connecter on the back of the ignition & unconnected it see if you get anything from there
& some do have a code for the key on them too at the back
Sadly no key code but I've got the battery out and on a reconditioning charger so hopefully I get some life into it and get this thing running 🤟
You couldn't pay me to take them....dude. Walk away
Bit late to walk away I already bought them 😅
You don't know much about the Dragstar then. Well worth saving.
@@SteveBlues87😂
The Dragster is worth up to 4k+ and they are selling for that. Maybe you need to know more about the bike market a bit more.
@@chriscollins550Ok mate.
You can't polish a turd, never mind two.
I can try 😅
Hi, not a bad deal, but lexmotto, to be honest, is pretty rubbish, yamaha could be good if nothing much needs doing, and I'd probably keep that for myself. Get rid of lexmotto ASAP as rubbish.
Not a bad deal at all It's most likely I sell the lex to fix the yam and then I'll probably sell the yam and get a new project 😅
Why have you flopped the video left to right? The number plate is a mirror image at 2:20
Looking at them, the lex will cost more to scrap than it cost, and the Honda will cost more to restore than it will sell for.
They do not even look worth stripping and selling on eBay for the parts. .
That'll be due to my lack of expertise in filming and editing it's all a learning curve right now 😅
We hope you find the honda while your doing it as I see a yam and a bag shite dump the lex not worth your time the yam is OK dam still can't see the honda
Lexmoto's are made of chocolate !!
Chocolate is probably more durable that whatever the lex is made from😅
no mate, they are actually made of cheese 😀
I wouldn't argue with that. When buying a motorcycle or scooter if you want reliability and quality you've got to go Japanese. @@SamsAutoAssortium

No problem 👍
Why do you always Look Off Camera?
I do it when I talk to people aswell im told its a sign of ADHD 😅
So I have no issue with Lexmoto rebuilds ( th-cam.com/users/shorts9QiXbLx6QT4 is me 🤣), but the question is are you doing it for content or profit? You dont need the keys to start it ( I won't write how obviously here), but it could also be the reason whty it was abandoned...
I'll check yours out! I haven't totally ruled out doing the lexmoto it's just I've recently done a 125 so wanted to focus more on the yamaha, it's not all about the profit I want to make content but the profit helps to keep the channel going 🤟
@@SamsAutoAssortium good stuff, I am currently in the lack of parts department 😞
I am a bit out of the loop, but some barrels will have key numbers stamped on, elsewise a specialist can dismantle the lock and make a key from the mechanism. I used to use motor keys in kensworth, but that's a long way from you!
@TringmotionCoUk unfortunately the lock barrels were damaged so getting a key made was a no go and there were no lock codes on them either 👎 I've contacted a few breakers to see if I can get my hands on one so hopefully I can get a replacement 🤞
looks like fun
It was good fun, a few challenges along the way which you can see in my other videos and worked out well in the end too 🤟

Chinese, will fall apart within 12 months.. Yamaha, only problem. front cylinder head , seizing calipers, standard stuff.
Luckily I didn't keep either of them long enough to find out those problems.... although on the yamaha what i found was much worse 😅
Lexmoto are rubbish
They are the better version of all the Chinese copy bikes but yes they are pretty rubbish for a bike to rust like that in just 7 years 😅
😭😭
I had slight tears too when I saw all the rust on the lexmoto😅
Your buying problems it's not worth your time.
Any time I spend tinkering with motorbikes is time we'll spent in my opinion 🤟

@Chickendave344 maybe but they are my junk now 🤣
One mans junk is another mans treasurez
The Dragstar has a massive following and worth up to 4 grand depending on mileage, even the 125 Dragstars bring good money. Yes the lexmoto not worth it but that will pay for the offset on the dragster meaning when both bike's are done he's made good money.
