I’ve had some success repairing plastic fairing panels from the back side by melting across the crack with a soldering iron. There are a load of videos on TH-cam on how to do it, might be worth a go? Fab deal by the way 👍
Thanks, yeah I think I'm gunna have a go at a bit of plastic welding and maybe some filler and paint on the fairings I think it will be a good chance to do a bit of learning on this 🤟
What a great swap cheers for making all these videos and sharing them with us cant wait to see this channel grow you do decent content so im sure it with take off take care buddy
That's a bit of a result in my book. Made a bit of money. Plus the bandit is a great project bike. Loads of second hand parts available, as these bikes were everywhere.
Yeah I think I came out alright on this one🤟 yes the mechanical parts seem to be cheap but doesn't seem to be a suitable replacement fairings out there so think I'll be trying to fix them myself 😅
You did well out of that deal. Even if the frame is bent on the Bandit you could break it for parts. Those engines are popular if its a good one. Good stuff!
Holy shit!!! 😮 fair play you saved them bikes from scrap cleaned them up and made a little profit. I’m breaking a Bandit mk1 at the moment the footpeg is yours for the cost of postage and maybe a Chanel mention 😂
Thanks, not a bad outcome i think 🤟 I literally just bought one on Ebay but if you message me on my channels facebook page i many need some other bits once i start gwtting into it 😅😅
Thats not a bad prince on the yamaha. To be honest you might get Lucky with the bandit i found that bandit parts can be pricey. But i must admit as much as my bandit frustrates me i wouldn't want to swap for a lex moto unless i knew something is wrong with it. I hope its a genuine clean one as thay are good bikes! Keep the vids coming bud, really enjoying it and good luck 👍
@user-hs4zj2ut7n thanks!🤟 Yeah I think I've come out alright and worst case scenario if the bandit turns out bad then it would make potentially a good engine for my offroad buggy project 😅🤣
If someone swaps a Bandit 600 for a crusty Lexmoto 125 there are some hidden junk that isn't visible, like it being stolen or that the frame is damaged through that accident.
I think you got a good deal. Bandits are usually a good bike. It sounds good, but what else is wrong is the big question. Shame about the yamaha, but you have to do what is best for you. Keep up the good work.
Common issue where people buy a big bike before passing their test, it's so hard to get a full licence now. Bandits are great, rode mine from South Wales around the Isle of man and back! Smiles for Miles
@gregleeman6209 yeah that seemed to be the case with the lad I swapped with he said he wanted something he could ride legally so I didn't ask too many questions 😅🤣
Loving your channel. Nothing wrong with an 'up-swap'! I swapped a Triumph Daytona 900 for a Yamaha Virago 535. I simply couldn't maintain the Daytona, but the Vig was perfect for my workshop. Maybe the Bandit owner is the same - needs an 'easier' bike to work on. Looking forward to the next episode.
Thanks! 🤟 yeah I guess sometimes it's down to suiting your circumstances when you arrange a swap, makes me optimistic about potential future swaps out that that's for sure 😅
Hi Sam,really enjoy your videos.I must admit I thought you were mad buying those two……they did look terrible when you first got them,But,hats off to you……..the Yamaha made a great price and that swap is a no brainer! Your positivity is great and has really paid off……..can’t wait to see the next instalments, and what you do with the Bandit.👍
Sam, nice surprise with that bandit. may need a carb clean but it sound really ok. Just hoping the gear box is ok? should be able to get a good price for that if your good to sell on.
Yes I thought soo too, I imagine the carbs will need a good clean and returned as them getting out of sync from each other is quite common so hopefully a good result at the end of this one 🤟
Yes I thought that was a pretty good outcome too, the bandit is worth at least twice what the lexmoto was worth so very surprising I managed to get this trade🤟😅
What an absolute result. People slag off the Bandits but for what they are they’re a solid reliable and decently fast machine. I’ve ridden a couple and enjoyed it. Love the videos but one small bit of feedback; would it be possible to stop mirroring the image when you use your selfie camera? It does my head in a bit. 😆 On an iPhone its Settings > Camera > Mirror Front Camera, not sure about Android.
Yeah in quite impressed with the result, I'll see whether or not I like the bike later down the road I guess as I've never ridden one before 😅 I'll take a look into that I thought I had sorted the issue but it could be down to the way I hold the phone sometimes I'll try keep the selfie camera at the same side every time 😅😅
thats a winner , use the money of the yam to get that sorted , mot etc , and flip it , see what you can work up to , plough the money you make into next project
Bit of plastic weld or replacement chinese fairings and touch up and new rear tyre at least from what i could see, maybe a little more to do but a great swap.36k is nowt for a bandit!!!
Yeah I think I'll have a go at fixing up the fairings and stuff, not something I've done before and could make for a decent before and after type of video 🤟
Money in the bank from the other two allows for some unforseen issues with the suzuki. A salvage footpeg hanger and then get in for an MOT. If you are lucky you could just be into aesthetics - a cheap controllable soldering iron, some cable ties and staples and you are into a world of plastic welding repairs, plastic primer, body filler and rattlecan spray jobs.
That is the plan as there don't seem to be alot of fairings out there that aren't already damaged so I'm thinking of having a go at repairing them myself so that should make for some interesting content as I've never done that before 😅😅
Body filler in the frame/swingarm is just bonkers, never seen that! Buying a bike sight unseen is obviously a risk, but there's no way you could reasonably expect that. You always say you are learning, and I guess that's a school day, but a weird one. For me, I stumbled across your channel, and I'm in. Don't worry too much about finishing this, or changing direction to that... do what you need to do, and we will follow along. If you don't flip for a profit, you won't upload.... Oh, and if you are ever considering picking a bike up from Plymouth again, shoot me a message, I live there!
Thanks for that I appreciate you saying all that 🤟 every day is a school day on this channel for me sometimes I make a few quid and sometimes I don't but it's not about the money ultimately it's about the experince so I'll keep going and keep posting no matter what happens 🤟 no doubt I'll be down there again soon enough reach out to me on my Facebook so I know how to get hold of you 🙏
Bandits a great bike, it's a no brainer. I'd trade a 125 all day long for one. I have one here and I'm very happy with it. Theyr a popular bike too and don't depreciate much these days.

I could maybe understand if it was a good 125 like a honda or ktm or something along those lines but never thought ide get to swap a cheap Chinese bike for a big cc bike 😅🤣
@SamsAutoAssortium Yes, it is a little weird as to why he would swap for a chinese bike, especially an early lexmoto. I do hope it works out for you, though, and you can make it a good bike and get a decent profit from it
Good deal mate, just the tyres on the bandit are worth more than the lexmoto 😂 if I was you I’d slap an mot on the bandit and put straight back on marketplace for £1200 Ono and use the money to buy a project bike that really want to get stuck in to and worth sinking abit of money in
