    You, are the man, for doing sixth gen Taurus repair.
    It's especially helpful, with of the wait times at the dealership, because of Covid.
    Thanks for including the tips on the crazy nuances of the repair, too.
    And one thing you included that makes, to me, all the difference when searching for specific Taurus repair is this: You included the year and model of the car in your title. One guy had Ford strut replacement, as his title, and that brought up damn near every Ford model, instead of making the title specific to the vehicle.
    Like I said, you da man!

      Thank you very much, it means a lot that someone was helped for making this video. It was a PITA with no free information out there on this year, I decided to change that haha. Once again, thank you for the kind words!

      What are the symptoms when the pump goes out.... My car is just saying power steering fault and I have zero power steering. 2013 Taurus limited 3.5

    • @HungOverSheep
      @HungOverSheep  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@mikedawson3696 The lack of having power steering is a very strong indicator that your pump has stopped pressurizing your power steering rack. Other indicators would be fluid loss around the pump. From what you told me, I would assume your pump is faulty. A pressure test on the high pressure side line would be the only confirmation of that, I'm uncertain if there is a check port on there.

    Great job! Saw you used Prestone Power Steering fluid. My 2010 calls for using Mercon V trans fluid. Did yours? Any difference?

    • @HungOverSheep
      @HungOverSheep  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thank you! The rebuilt pump did call for power steering fluid instead of Mercon V fluid. That could differ for the years I guess though. The replacement pump is still going strong!

    Thanks for posting this video - where did you get the 3/8 by 9/16 adapter?

    Hello. How much do you charge for that work?

    • @HungOverSheep
      @HungOverSheep  2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I don't own a shop unfortunately, just help out friends and family. Only charged about $400 for this job, would have been more if it i knew what to expect.

    I really dont feel like messing with this. The dealership wants $1200 to do it. Looks like i have to do it now

      @HungOverSheep  9 หลายเดือนก่อน

      It's not the worst thing I have ever done, but it isn't fun haha. Just learn from my mistakes and take your time. It's not worth paying $1,200 though!

      @HungOverSheep yes I at least have a better idea what I have to do now. I am very mechanically inclined. I work on cars for a living. I just don't feel like working on cars on my free time. My daughters car so I think imma do a little by little during this week until it's finished.

      @@demarques1911 same here, I work on anything and everything. A lift (which I don't own) would have made this a lot easier for sure.

    What's book time on this job?
    I'll be doing it this weekend.

    • @HungOverSheep
      @HungOverSheep  ปีที่แล้ว

      It took me a lot longer than I would bet the book list as the hours. I made this video because it was such a tight and uncomfortable spot to get that power steering pump out of the car. Definitely use the tips I put in the video if you don't have a bunch of specialized tools handy.

      @jose ramos oh no. Why did they design a pump that hard to remove anyway?!

    • @HungOverSheep
      @HungOverSheep  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @jose ramos that's correct, I had to make a custom tool for the flare nut. It's in my video.
