I'm fairly convinced that these are the weirdest speakers I've ever featured on Unbox Therapy. Why do they have water in them? Why is that compelling? ... I have no idea, but there's something about these that seems special.

They have been out way longer, because I use to work for Dollar General, and we were selling some cheap no name Chinese made speakers that did this back during the holiday season of 08.

i sold a pair of these the other day.. theyre cool for an hour, and they came out years ago... terrible sound, and the sound of the water pumps is louder then the music.. and if you leave them on to loud, they sa=tart buzzing, no matter what the sound..theyre a waste of money people, dont bother...

idk about that i've had mine for like a year with no problems, but I did order my friend a pair and on of the speakers didn't work at all and I think the plastic cracked from being shipped in the cold winter
The same, they started out very well with nice bright LEDs, powerful and quite water pumps and great audio but after just a few days they started to suck like the LEDs started to fail, the pumps just threw a little water and the pumps got louder and louder so i had to increase the audio of the sound to cancel it out but then buzzing from the speakers appeared out of nowhere so it isn't worth it.
I have these speakers. They are not meant for u to start a party. U just gotta stay in ur room, lights off, and just fucking relax.
And for some, smoke some weed (this does not apply to me tho)

+Mediazzzzzz nah I bought these exact ones on amazon. When I said they're crap I meant they're not worth it. The audio quality is crap and they lose the wow factor very quickly. Given they aren't that much but honestly I wouldn't recommend getting them.

You can get a Etekcity Roverbeats T12 for $26 USD on Amazon! They retailed at $70 and kicked the UE Megaboom's ass. Sounds like a large stereo in my living room, awesome build quality and better battery life then our Bose Soundlink Color.

I lost the water one of the speakers within 2 years. Accidentally knocked it over and it started to leak very slowly from the seams.
These are very good sound quality, it just depends on the different brands

These "Water" speakers were already available here in South Africa, Cape Town over a decade ago. I had a set of these back in 2007 on my Acer Aspire laptop. Sound quality is "OK-ish" for listening to music from a laptop instead of using the internal laptop speakers. Mostly bought for its visual appearance. Not a bad combination.

ikr, my dad got these for Christmas and within the first week one of them broke. Eventually the other one broke and he had to buy new speakers.
Nice but sadly warranty starts on the day you get the product, therefore you could have sent it back. It would be very retarded for any company to start a warranty on a product that you ordered on the day you ordered it as it is not your product until it arrives.

I have the exact same ones made by ATake. Grandparents brought them over at Christmas, was a 10/10 gift. Really handy for Skype on my iPad as long as you have a USB to wall adapter.

DO NOT get these speakers. I had them for about a month and then they got scratchy, then at 2 months one completely stopped working. They are "cool" and interesting but a shitty product. Put your $50 to something else.
And you can't listen to them quietly cause the water going up then coming down masks the sound

I had ones like these, but they broke on me after some time (they start to leak slowly if you accidentally tip them over) - the water (which is probably oil) leaked out and the water sometimes puffs suddenly when there's faint hissing or distortion in the background.
There's a lot of brands with this - either knockoffs or rebrands from the same OEM. You can buy a no-name one at The Source in Canada

Those things suck balls. Cheap speakers, its cool. but if they could only make them with better sounding speakers it would be worth it. Literally just worth it for the show and its really not even worth 20$ in my eyes. had them used for like 2 days. Doesnt even have an off button, so you have to unplug them everytime, or you get buzzes and etc. Zero bass with these fyi.
There are versions under different names, so some could be knockoffs. I'm not sure who sells the original version and if it sounds better or worse. The one I had was from ATake, they now have a 2.1 audio channel version with a sub-woofer.
What really sucks is if you accidentally tip them over, they will start to leak from the seam between the casings. You can tape it up to slow down but after two years the broken side lost all its water/oil.
