    Hi. Would you recommend racechip? Did it deliver what you expected? I've read a lot of back and forth reactions about it all over the internet.
    In some other video you mentioned that you plan dyno test it. Would be nice to try that and see what each of mod (off, eco, sport, race) adds. Or have you done it already?

    • @cadbane1980
      @cadbane1980  ปีที่แล้ว +4

      Still no dyno, just like no recent uploads. I've just been very busy with work and family.
      Yes though, I would recommend the racechip GTS. It works with supporting mods. People who just slap it on with no supporting mods and 87 octane won't get any real gains. I have heard JB4 is better, but I am just waiting until my warranty is up before I change anything around. I think the Racechip is a blast, but the best upgraded for this car have been suspension... It's a light little whip, and fun in corners

      Get an ecu tune, race chip just fools the stock perameters

    Take your plastic cover off of the engine! Those are notoriously bad for holding in engine heat. If you pop it off and look at the underside of the cover, you’ll see that it’s insulated. Bad for running your engine hard since it’ll contribute to heat soak.
    Take it off. It’s only for show and causes your engine block to heat up faster.

    Did any of these mods shorten the dct farts or made them sound more like pops?

    • @cadbane1980

      Changing the exhaust made a big difference. The dct sound never really goes away though.

    I just picked up a 2024 and was thinking of doing some small mods like this, my question is did any of these mods void any factory warranties on the vehicle?

    • @cadbane1980
      @cadbane1980  2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Nothing technically voids the warranty. However, each Kia dealership is different and many will refuse to touch your car if it has a single mod.

      Kia is easily as reliable as Chrysler. Neither one have Toyota level reliability reputations, but Kias aren't trash like they used to be. GDI engines require a bit more maintenance than standard port injection, and carbon can cause huge problems.

    Could I do just the downpipe and racechip and nothing else? Would it still give a good boost in power or do i need the cold air intake. I feel like if I avoided the air intake it would be impossible to tell if the car was modified (saving warranty)

    • @cadbane1980

      Maybe the Racechip, if they can somehow trace it. It's piggy back and would be hard to tell that it was even in there. Everything else "should not" void the warranty. However, I hear that Hyundai/Kia are asses with honoring their warranties to begin with.

  • @mariosmith8456
    @mariosmith8456 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    I'm far from an expert but I think you definitely need an oil catch can. I put in a jb4 and spark plugs and after only about five hundred miles I had about a half ounce of dirty liquid in my catch can. I just know a lot of people recommended one with any piggyback or tune.

    • @cadbane1980
      @cadbane1980  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      An oil catch can is good, but not needed.
      These cars don't put out enough power. It's a supporting mod for people who are going to eventually go bigger. Just like the HKS plugs are unneeded with JB4 or any other piggy back. I thought the plugs helped, but they fouled up in 10k miles, and caused my motor to throw a code p2097. I argued against colder plugs being a bad idea on just piggy back setups, but I listened to the masses and it was a bad idea.

    • @mariosmith8456
      @mariosmith8456 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@cadbane1980 I don't have a lot of experience I just put my jb4 in like 2 weeks ago and I bought the HKS plugs and GAP them down to like 22-24. So far I've been lucky and all my logs look pretty good. I can run map3 on 93 only and just did a 6.15 0-60 on the dragy. The only thing I have besides plugs and catch can is an after-market k&M high performance air filter that just goes into my stock box. I just couldn't believe after taking an out-of-town trip and some local DrivIng how much dirty liquid was in that
