    I have recently fitted the base RaceChip 'S' to my 2015 KIA Proceed GT. £159.00 shipped from/made in Germany. What a difference. +33HP/77NM torque (claimed). The more expensive versions are RS/GTS but they don't offer much more 'bang for your buck' so I went for the 'S'. More lower end pull and it has transformed the car. Same engine as the vehicle on this video. Really pleased. And fuel economy better. All it does it kick the turbo in quicker with more boost and alters the fuel injection pressure and timing but all within manufacturers tolerences. The 'S' has to be manually set from within the bonnet (hood) with ignition on but engine not running. I have no warning lights or issues and my KIA GT is now on a par with Golf GTI Performance for £159.00. 👍🙂

      Ur never c one on a dyno 🤣 if u get one may as well put ur money in the bin all independently dyno'd cars with boxes on get removed by lawyers or thay say the car is faulty 🤣 iv even had a reply the atmospheric conditions must of change the results if want 5hp and realistically that is about what ur get a bit more on a vag some of the time depending on what sensors r fighting against it if u want 30/40hp get it mapped, racechip say 50hp extra 🤣 not possible form that engine without changing parts 🤣 all these videos r the same all numbers nothing to back it up 🤷 save ur money get a quicker car if u want one if u love it and want to keep it map it a leave it at that as everything else in 2/3 hp for lots of money

    I was hesitant at first thinking maybe this just be placebo power, but I got one for my 2015 veloster turbo and it's noticeable! Makes the car a lot more peppy. If you're on the fence, just pull the trigger, you won't be disappointed. I will say my mpg went from 27 to 20, but whatever... numbers...

    • @THM1997

      Is your car stock? I have a 15 turbo too and I put an aftermarket exhaust on and now my car runs supper rich . Would this help my air/fuel ratio ? Or let me tweak it.?

    • @CherryTuningPerformance
      @CherryTuningPerformance  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Running an exhaust on a Veloster Turbo should not affect how rich the car runs, unless a sensor was damaged.
      They run wideband oxygen sensors in the exhaust and the ECU has a Lambda target for fueling. A different exhaust would cause more airflow, but the ECU has +/- 25% fuel correction to correct back to it's lambda targets, so it would correct it back to being the right fuel for the extra air flow.
      If you're using more fuel and no sensors are damaged, it's because you're driving it harder because it sounds better, if you're covering the back of your car with black soot, then I'm going to suggest that you've gone up to a 3" exhaust which is too big for a 200HP 1.6T and you're lowering flow velocity too much causing the soot from fuel to build up a bit easier. It shouldn't actually be running any richer, just appears that way.

    Yes...they give the guarantee for the motor itself but not for the gearbox (or the whole powerline) which will be limiting sometimes and you brake it with extra torque. In my case even the S model overlaps 20 Nm the max torque of my automatic gearbox and if I install it I do not know which setting I can adjust just to the limit.

    So I know that this video is old but I had my RaceChip in my 2019 Hyundai Veloster Turbo. They promise it won’t do anything to the cars stock plugs but unfortunately they do. The chip works but with stock oem plugs, it will damage them and make the car misfire.
    Right now I’m gonna give the chip one last chance however I will be adding some HKS spark plugs this time. Overall the chip does what it says but it’s not a big noticeable difference from my experience. Plus I highly recommend to not use stock plugs when running it.

      RaceChip and Cherry Tuning both recommend replacing the plugs if you're planning on using the RS or GTS chip.
      The higher boost pressures and more aggressive timing that are targeted by the RaceChip will add additional heat and stress to the engine, running colder spark plugs is an easy and cost effective way to help keep things a little more under control.

    • @Blaeven
      @Blaeven 3 ปีที่แล้ว +7

      Manufacturers are building cars that have to work with lower quality fuel, and run with standard servicing, driven sedately for hundreds of thousands of miles and over 20+ years
      If you're happy to run your car on premium fuels and actually look after them properly with servicing, you can usually get a lot more power out of them safely and reliably

      While it's unfortunate that this happened on your 5 year old car, you're asking a car to make more boost than factory. This always comes with inherent risk factors. Generally if a car is well maintained and looked after properly, a RaceChip will not drastically decrease it's service life.

    He's like just remove the race chip and there's no left over evidence it was ever there but earlier also said it uses short and long term fuel trim to trick the engine into making more power. So unless you ran the car for a while or reset the computer the fuel trims would be way off for no obvious reason.

    • @CherryTuningPerformance

      You're correct to a point, the short term trims will correct as soon as the car is started and run, and the long term trims only take a day or so to correct. Yes, if you remove it and have it towed to a dealership, they would see the trims are off, however if you remove it and drive it for a day or so, the trims should be back down to something close to "normal"

They are selling to folks desperate to do something to their cars , akin to drugs use or opioid, this is exactly similar to a car. Just come out of this foolish and costly addiction, ask for a manufacturer approved ECU tune if available. For example while it was a rip off, got the Polestar upgrade for $700 (50% discounted by a dealer in Michigan) for my XC90, that in real world had some relevant and nice difference to the driving and shifting characteristics of the car along with increased power. FE was not impacted good or bad.

      There are always risks and downsides to installing any modification to your car. If you're concerned about your warranty, you're best to speak with your manufacturer regarding said modifications and perhaps leave your car stock.
      Not everyone is as concerned, and most people are happy to take the Chip off for a trip to the dealership and risk being found out. That's the risk every owner takes and generally people are happy to do it. We aren't tricking or deceiving anyone. If anyone asks, we will always tell people that if Hyundai/Kia found out about the chip, the drivetrain warranty would be made void.

    • @kurts9085
      @kurts9085 3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@CherryTuningPerformance and therein lies the rub. You say you aren't tricking or deceiving anyone, yet you are omitting data on your website that any Kia or Hyundai owner needs to be made aware of prior to installing i.e. bye bye engine and probably transmission warranty if you blow your engine up or are caught by the dealer.
      Another 25kw at the engine isn't worth losing a 7 year warranty over and making your car unsellable on the used market, unless the owner in turn fails to disclose this fact to the chump that buys the vehicle from them.
      The ethical thing to do is at least state on your website that all Racechip products will void your engine warranty upon install and let owners make an informed decision, rather than throwing the responsibility onto the customer to ask you.

    • @CherryTuningPerformance
      @CherryTuningPerformance  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Kurt, we could easily put a blanket warning across our whole website that states that any modification will void some part of the vehicles warranty. Hyundai and Kia both state on their respective websites that modifications to their vehicles are allowed, however the warranty of any parts directly changed or affected by any installed modifications has it's warranty made void. This would mean that any and all changes made to a car affect the warranty in some way or another. Anyone who is that concerned about their warranty isn't going to be modifying their car in the first instance, in which case they would have no need for a company like ours.

    • @kurts9085
      @kurts9085 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@CherryTuningPerformance "Anyone who is that concerned about their warranty isn't going to be modifying their car in the first instance, in which case they would have no need for a company like ours."
      Disagree again. There is a substantial difference in warranty impact and risk between let's say, tinting windows, installing LED bulbs, doing a res delete, even installing a cat back exhaust versus installing one of these. You can offer aftermarket parts but the warranty impact of some versus others really needs to be made clear to the customer. You are essentially throwing your hands in the air and are saying 'caveat emptor' - which I get on a LED bulb - on a flash tune that is a totally different story as the warranty impacts are radically different in size and scope.

    • @CherryTuningPerformance
      @CherryTuningPerformance  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@kurts9085 as mentioned, Kia and Hyundai warranty is pretty clear cut on their respective websites, stating that any parts installed on the car will void anything that is directly affected by the installed parts. This means that there are warranty impacts of any and all parts installed aftermarket parts installed on a car. All of them will theoretically affect the warranty in some way. Even installing LED headlights could be argued to affect your wiring loom warranty, or electronic system warranty. Yes, installing an interceptor chip (which is different to a reflash tune), does modify sensor data to the ECU and hence will make the warranty void on the ECU and subsequently the whole drivetrain, but that's assuming that the dealership knows that it's been installed. Like a lot of modifications that affect major parts of the warranty, the majority of people will remove them and play dumb to the dealer regarding them being installed in the first place. We are neither advocating nor approving of this approach and will actually recommend reflash tuning a car if asked for our opinion. You'll generally get much better and safer results from retuning the computer instead of spoofing sensor data, but these kinds of tunes aren't removable, so people don't bother.
      But... we appreciate your point and your opinion, we aren't going out of our way to advertise that these parts will affect engine warranty any more than we are trying to hide the fact. Perhaps, for concerned consumers such as yourself, we should put a note on our product page stating that warranty implications of installing modifications, such as an interceptor chip.
