Scouring Black Flame and Frozen Lightning Spear getting some love nice! I feel like Flame of Frenzy deserves alot of love too, people don’t give credit to these spells because Madness doesn’t work in PvE but they’re fun and function really well!
Ikr. Have you tried using unendurable frenzy on malenia. Even in ng+7 it makes the hardest boss arguably the easiest. And of course WITHOUT spirit summon. I havent tried RoB myself but i highly doubt it is a better strategy against malenia than unendurable frenzy. Why worry about waterfowl dance when you can stunlock her to death before she even gets the chance? And if you want to make sure she does not survive, you can chip at her health first using frenzied burst before going all out with unendurable frenzy
It does work in pve, they’re great spells for when you’re adventuring through the world. It’s not so useful in bossing, but that’s not the only aspect of the game

Burn O Flame is definitely an S tier spell and is deserving to be on the list but it’s just a worse version that ADLS so I didn’t bother. I wanted to highlight different types of spells. Same reason as to why O Flame didn’t make it to the list. They’re good but just outclassed
A month ago I did a run cosplaying as Zeus (lightning incants only) and frozen lightning spear really surprised me. Very versatile, deals humongous damage when you use it at melee range (or fight a large boss) and it's actually pretty safe unlike ancient dragon lightning strike. 10/10 spell on my book after that run (also you can get it literally in the first 20 minutes of a playthrough)
Very solid list, though I think I would put Catch Flame over Ancient Dragon Lightning Strike since ADLS does have some really weird moments where most of the strikes just don't land. But still can totally understand putting it at number 1 because it can be an absolute tactical nuke of a spell when it works. I'm just particular for Catch Flame because it melts most things like butter in a frying pan and I'm also a huge fan of spells that can be used while running and jumping as well as being stationary.
My sunbro str build has 25 faith for golden vow and blessings boon, but even at 15 faith you get fgms, beastial vitality, status cures, elemental def, assassins approach, and rejection. Faith goes from support yourself (15), support others (25), to nuke the dragons (60-80).
Dragon claw is quite literally just gavel of haima for faith. Both of them are really slow, high damage aoe melee spells that do high poise damage and have a single follow up attack
I don’t understand how you get some of these spells to come out so fast and do so much damage. I swear at end game of my first playthrough as a faith build damage was just awful (even with buffs, fully upgraded seal and high faith) and everything was so slow.
Probably missing the appropriate damage buffs/modifiers. They are multiplicative in this game so they can end up making a huge difference if stacked properly.
How? Frenzied burst one shots beastmen and dogs in farum azula, three shots gideon. Dragon lightning strike kills mohg before second phase if you keep spamming charge it behind him as he puts three rings on you, kills placidusax before he teleports, destroys rykard as long as you have 100 poise and approach him in lava so that you dont have to worry about fatrolling his attacks. And with malenia, try unendurable frenzy against her, dont let go of the button until you run out of fp. Choose to cast when she has no hyperpoise. And come back and tell me that that is not the easiest way to kill a boss, and tell me that RoB is stilk the best weapon against her. Most importantly maliketh black blade can empty rennala’s health even while she is inside golden barrier first phase. And with cerulean hidden tear and full fp at 60 mind and some easy buffs can kill greyoll without having to refill your fp in ng+7. I had 97 faith and i still had a leftover fp.

FROMSOFT PLEASE increase the casting speed of ground lighning stab incantations , make it 2 times faster at least It’s outrageous that lighning/Great lighting spear/Sunlight spear/Lighning Stake from dark souls 3 is 3 times fucking faster than Ancient lighting spear/Frozen lighning spear/ Fortissax lighning spear in Elden ring, even so Elden ring gameplay is fucking faster than ds3
Definite agree on this. Things like Lansseax's Glaive and Fortissax's Lightning Spear look so cool and can hit for really solid damage... but they take entirely too long to cast for what they are.
Agreed, I wish bloodflame talons came out quicker or had 2 hits instead of just the exploding part, or if you could jump with it, would make it a top tier contender
I was mad at lightning spears place, however AD Lightning strike it where it belongs. That spell is so overpowered and fun, balanced by how often it whiffs especially the uncharges version. That and you cannot use it under a roof.

Can't recommend using Catch Flame because it takes the fun out of the game, honestly. Just evade a boss' first string of attacks and the moment they let up you'll melt 80% of their health bar.

Well, Greyolls roar is one of the best pvp nukes on a dedicated build. Also works insanely well in pve. Dragonmaw is even better damage wise. Flame fall upon them is really only decent on big bosses. And on big bosses you have much better choices such as pest threads. Not useless in pvp, but much better options there. Breaths - always the greater version unless you just wanna proc frost or rot in pve. Big versions can be cast in the air which is a gamechanger for pvp. Catch flame - yes, catch flame. AD lightning strike - harder to hit in pvp but a nuke anyway. Downside: casting indoors / in tunnels doesnt work.
Is it just me that I have max faith and pretty much every incantation that I use sucks, for example the fat dude he’s fighting with the catch flame spell I have max faith using the same seal and fighting the same dude and I’m only on journey 2 and I did like 500 dmg to him meanwhile he did 1500 with one hit. Please someone explain why I’m always so much weaker than Any build I see. It’s starting to become very annoying.
With 50 Faith and 50 int with the Golden order seal at 329 incantation scaling my lightning spear does 700 something damage. I'm not sure whats up with your lightning spear but all your spells seem to bo doing a lot more then standard damage
I think the way scouring black flame works is similar to radagons single cock ring where theres like 16 projectiles but they can only hit a target once, i think scouring has 2 or 3 hits before the dmg caps from diff projectile parts of the whole incantation
They needed to give faith a way to proc frostbite. Similar to magma sorcerers to give int a way to do fire damage. So no it should stay an incantation. If anything they need to make more frost lightning spells since this is the only one.

These "named Dragon Breaths" are dogshit. +25% mana consumption and being wide open in the air for a measly +17% of damage? You've got to be kidding me. I'd understand a small damage increase if you were invincible during these slow animations, but hell no, every butterfly touching you will interrupt your incantation. Total bulltshit.
Catch flame has a bigger hit box that O Flame, the catch flame hit box is basically the same size as Carian slicer. Agheel’s Flame is absolutely superior to dragon fire. The scouring black flame hit box consists of 2 bullets that actually conjoin toward the end of the animation, so if it is a bigger boss it will take the two hits. Flame Fall Upon Them consists of around 4 bullets, but the fireballs within trigger the bullet itself, so you might notice basically the same DPS against the godskin duo shown in the footage as you would throwing them all into Placidusax or Elden Beast’s side.
Please don't show boss fights on background, i personally don't like to get spoiled in any game and i now know the names of bases and 1 move of all of them.
Honestly this entire list could have been the Dragon Breath Incantations (haven’t watched yet). But as I am typing I see that SBF is number 10 and honestly I think BF is also pretty close.

burn o flame should be up there, the pillars launch all human sized enemies and have very good tracking and it goes out relatively quickly
And it melts so well. More consistent than ADLS in some ways.
Discus of Light is also very useful. I always go to 13 in int in order to use it.

Could be your talisman setup, try sacred scorpion charm or lightning, Godfrey icon faithful canvas talisman & rotten wing or Millicent

he's using a dragon communion seal with 40 fth and 70 arcane which is 350 spell scaling and the gravel stone seal in his off hand for extra 15% dmg
