    People keep saying that Adrienne was desperate for marriage,but if that was the case she would've just went through with her first engagement. Instead she chose to call if off. Better to call off an engagement, then to be filing for divorce down the road.

      Im sorry but I don't agree, it's clear Lenny was pressured into proposing and did not really want to commit I think he probably wanted a long engagement or was not really showing that he wanted to be married, so Adrienne breaking it off and jumping into another relationship that has some serious history shows to me that she is in a rush to get married and from all the times that she said she really wants to be married by 30 I agree with Prisma Gonzalez it's all messy

    • @LeilizzleFaShow
      @LeilizzleFaShow 7 ปีที่แล้ว +20

      Eh, I think people say she was desperate for marriage more because she rushed to get married to a freshly-divorced cheater, rather than waiting to find a better catch..

    I love how real they're getting in these segments. Adrienne was speaking for a lot of people out there. Just because you spent years dating doesn't mean you have to say yes just for the sake of being married. Those types of marriages don't last.

      But who in their right mind spends years dating anyway? Most people know within the first few months if the person they're with is a suitable life partner. In my opinion, you are wasting precious time if the end goal isn't marriage within two years. Ridiculous the time and resources people waste playing house from buying cars, property, swapping DNA, having babies, and etc. that married people do but don't got the legal papers and tax credit to show for it.

    6 years is a long time to invest in someone. That's a gamble waiting that long. Because if the relationship doesn't work out then your 6 years older and you can't get that time back!

    • @watermelonislife4857
      @watermelonislife4857 7 ปีที่แล้ว +36

      Ms. Beautiful But when it comes down to spending your time with someone that you love, there's no counting. Whether or not that relationship results in a marriage, those two individuals still got to enjoy and learn from each other. Sounds corny but there's no countdown. If you really believe that you are going to spend the rest of your life with someone then there's no risk in waiting 5-6 years before legally binding yourselves together.

    • @Gossiptgirl
      @Gossiptgirl 7 ปีที่แล้ว +8

      Ms. Beautiful I agree, there's no guarantee that you'll get married and end up together so I would never date anyone for that length of time. I think it's a big waste of time especially for women who want children.

    • @anisaantoinette6381
      @anisaantoinette6381 7 ปีที่แล้ว +12

      Ms. Beautiful but if you're going to marry someone you should be sure. So if they wait six years and then get married at least they know for sure they want to marry this person instead of doing two years and then getting married and going trough a divorce

    • @osimeon00
      @osimeon00 7 ปีที่แล้ว +9

      Adrienne and women like her don't like to admit the real reason they stay in a purposeless relationship so long is because of the sex or that they just need somebody to be with and hate being alone. Or combo of both. Case in point - J.Lo.

    I was in a situation similar to Adrienne's, I started dating a guy I didn't like romantically out of pressure he applied to take our friendship to the next level. We dated for about a year and a half. I knew he wanted to marry me, but I wasn't in love with him. It was a very difficult thing for me to have to break up with him. I literally had to go to God for help w/how to do it. Thank God he gave me the words to say, and the strength I needed to have that very hard conversation with him. I broke up w/him before anymore time could pass and his feelings grow any stronger. I broke up with him and never regretted it.

      Bola Obafemi Her artist should use topaz ben nye powder or a translucent one, banana comes off too bright with the lights and on camera. I dont think he makes her highlight and contour natural enough for daytime television. Its comes off sometimes as too heavy like going to the club makeup.

    i never want to be one of those women that says yes just cause he asks. but my aunt told me a proposal is exactly what the name entails, which means youre not locked into getting married. this is the time when both people really see if they want to get married to one another and to never feel guilty about calling it off. an engagement can always be back on, divorce is not free.

    I feel like a lot of ppl put pressure on couples to get married. Either one of the couple is pressuring the other person or family and friends. And then add on the idea that ppl aren't looking at what marriage really is about. they're just in the moment and want to experience the "wedding magic" That's why divorce has become so rampant. They do it for the wrong reasons. Ppl always say you should follow your heart but I think you have to follow your instincts more.

    Tamera's question to Adrienne was a really awkward (and low key shady) question to ask on the air. That's why Loni made that face.

      Adrienne set herself up by asking if anyone's ever regretted saying yes.

    • @peanutjelly727
      @peanutjelly727 7 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Lola Love Adrienne didn't bring up the specific question Tamera asked her. The Real doesn't mean that they're obligated to disclose EVERY detail of their lives, especially a breakup after a 6-year relationship. That was probably a little painful and personal for Adrienne to talk about, not to mention it might have been personal for Lenny. When one of the co-hosts started laughing, Adrienne got serious and said, "actually, that's not funny." Also, in case you didn't notice, after Tamera realized she put Adrienne on the spot, she backpedaled and asked if it was ok for her to ask that.
      Sometimes I like Tamera's advice, but sometimes she gives off this holier-than-thou attitude and acts like some type of relationship guru, just because she's been happily married for 5 WHOLE years. And, yes, I do think she was being shady with that question, pressuring Adrienne to admit that she knew the relationship was over before accepting the proposal. Tamera was probably secretly judging Adrienne and Lenny's relationship the whole time and thinks that because they're over, it's ok to admit it.

    • @kendraechols9387
      @kendraechols9387 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      peanutjelly Adrienne brought it up and I don’t think Tamera was trying to be shady I think she was asking Adrienne what she felt the proposal and when she knew it wasn’t gonna work that’s a genuine question to ask someone and tbh if Adrienne didn’t want to talk about the topic of that relationship then she shouldn’t have brought it up

  • @sparkle1derful
    @sparkle1derful 7 ปีที่แล้ว +11

    First off, before a guy could even think to ask a girl "the question" he would have to know that she's on the same page. This is why communication is so important. He would know when is a good time to ask as to guarantee himself a yes.
    So i say no.

    I don't think it's over. Sometimes ppl propose thinking it would be a quick fix but the woman (who was proposed to) may be like "nah, we gotta fix our relationship before we get married". Sometimes the proposing may be in the moment and the gf is like um, no this is too rushed. It's better to say no than to say yes, get married, then end up getting divorced.

    • @toyadiinae9800
      @toyadiinae9800 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Y v Well, actually, sort of like in my case, if he proposes and she wants to work on having a future together in the hopes of marriage at the end, but she's not ready to start planning a wedding and setting a date, because she feels that she's not there, YET, then say, Yes (claim her future husband, while letting others know that she is completely unavailable), but just ask for time (an extended engagement) to get on the exact same page, as him or a better look and feel about herself, as a woman, and then set a date; otherwise, say No, knowing that the relationship is over.

    • @toyadiinae9800
      @toyadiinae9800 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      I said, "the relationship is over," because her saying No means that she's not on his future-maturity and mindset, and since women mature quicker than men, she'll never be on his same page, always wanting something else or going in a different direction.

  • @ajrodriguez9811
    @ajrodriguez9811 7 ปีที่แล้ว +3

    I think it depends on the reason why the proposal was rejected. If it was just because the time/timing wasn't right, then I believe a relationship can survive it. The love for your partner might be there, you just might not be personally ready to make that commitment which is understandable. But if it was rejected because the person isn't right (e.g. Adrienne and Lenny) and you don't feel for your partner what your partner feels for you, then it's probably best to just go your separate ways and not waste each other's time.

      Summer Lyric exactly, so you then see that person in a different light. A light you've never seen before once those "rose colored glasses" wear off. Just because I might say no, doesn't mean I have to leave or he has to leave. If I say yes, that doesn't mean I have to get married pronto. I would say yes but stay engaged for a while just to see what direction things start going. And determine whether or not I want to get married to that person from there. It's very simple. But as always people have to complicate life by doing and putting extra stuff on everything, instead of just living.
