The ring itself doesn't matter - if it's a gumball store ring or a 5000 dollar one. What matters is that he's openly lying to her by saying that it's a real diamond and bragging about it. A 2 ct ideal cut diamond would cost me $15,000, whereas the a 2ct ideal cut moissanite would cost me just $1000. As you can see the savings is huge if consumers go with moissanite.

It really doesn't matter of it's a fake one. The important part is that he loves her. That he's not with someone else. It is a ring. Yes, it is important for the marriage and everything but at the end of the day it is just a piece of jewelery. It would be nicer if it was a real ring for this special ocassion but maybe he can't afford one. The important thing is how the relationship is going to go. For example, a man can give the most precious and expensive ring in the world and end up in a toxic relationship without love and trust. He cheats on her and completely screws up their marriage. Other man can buy a ring made out of candy that probably costs $5. They are together for ever in a sane, lovely relationship and stay together until they die. Did the ring really matter in the end? I think it didn't. The actual issue here is that he told her that it was a real one. A relationship can't be built by lies.
