Yup the opening is awesome! Straight into the action, gives you a taster of what's to come through the visuals, combat, music and story. I did start trying to play FF15 recently and the difference between FF15's intro and FF16's intro is night and day.
This demo forced me to finally jump into FF and jrpgs in general. Going to start with FF 7 remake intergrade then come back to finish Clive’s story. This game looks fantastic
I wasn't going to play the demo but im glad I did, it was a perfect taster that left me craving more in the best way. It was released at just the right moment, not too early so as to have the anticipation sour and late enough that it's not too long to wait for the full release. I am beyond hyped for tomorrow
It's the first game in almost a decade that made me buy it off the demo alone. And it now sits with, ironically, *Insomniac's Spider-Man,* as my 2nd favorite opening to a video game that I've experienced this year. All in all, *_that prologue ABSOLUTELY did what it was supposed to do._*
My whole life i couldn't have cared less for this series. Obviously I've respected its place in gaming simply due to its iconic status, but it's nothing I've ever thought twice to play. Until now, that is. I'm about 8 or 9 hours into 16 and am absolutely blown away, loving every second
Now that you mention it. The eikon battle did feel alot like set piece fights from kingdom hearts 2. I hope these fights get used to the same effect as they were in kh 2. More like cinematic transitions between different phases of the fight. I hope the story sticks the landing. Because this is really promising.
Agreed 1000% yes i know thats not how percentages work. Take note game developers. When you create a masterpiece of a game, THIS is how you get it noticed by the gaming community
Oh I remember a time before the demo, I actually didn't want to buy the game, I had it in the back like... Maybe later... But, a friend that is a game freak convinced me to play it... My god... What a ride, immediately after finishing it, I bought it!!! I had to have it!! And I haven't regreted it for a second, I fuckin adooooooreeee this Game, it made me feel things... And I am still crying...
I like the demo too and I'm going to pick the game up at some point for sure. That being said the stop and start nature of the demo really took me out of it. I don't know why games think it's fun to show a cutscene and then give control back to the player only to have them run in a straight line for a minute and then go back to a cutscene. All the individual elements I thought were cool but I didn't like the pacing. I wanted to actually play the game. The additional mode in the demo I felt was a much better encapsulation of the gameplay.
Then theres idioits like me who genuinely didn't like this demo at all. I've never played a FF game. And I wanted to love this, I really did. I'm watching reviews now from all my favourite creators, ones who's opinions I highly respect just like you and I'm so jealous that I didn't feel this game. I hope in the future I can come back and try this again. Thanks for the video. Always love your thoughtful analysis.
That’d a shame dude, wish it resonated with you. Sometimes things do take time though, I can’t count the amount of stuff I didn’t feel anything for that years later I fell in love with. Fingers crossed 🤞🏻
For a while I’ve heard you calling ur self a critic again and again and that’s just not true, ur not a critic, not a games journalist or anything around that ballpark. Most of your videos are mediocre critique pieces in which you repeat each point atleast 5 times and the humor never lands, ever. Your channel was way way better a few years ago where you had a whole variety of content on the channel coming out frequently, general chats, talking about a new game or whatever in a fun laid back way. Now we see a ‘critique’ that’s far too long a couple times a year. I remember you backpedaled sometime ago and said that contents coming back but ig u went back again, wrong decision in my opinion. Stop forcing us to sub to Patreon’s for fun content and giving utube these vids only.
I'm sorry what I make isn't for you anymore, but I make the stuff I genuinely enjoy, times change. I'm not sure there was need for quite this amount of vitriol but I'm going to continue producing the stuff I like to make as after all, this is my channel and my creative space and there are plenty of people who like the stuff I make. Again I'm sorry you don't anymore, but I can't please everyone. Odds are you don't actually care and left this comment purely to be hurtful and bait me into a response, but I thought I'd reply as cordially as I could. Have a good day!
@@LazerzZhey man trust me I’m not trying to be hurtful. Ive been watching you since around the beginning of 2019. It’s frustrating to see a creator you really enjoy make an almost complete shift in the types of videos he makes and basically leave a lot of the content that a lot of people loved and enjoyed as a memory. You shud know this feeling from the obvious franchise when they start pandering to a complete new audience. All I’m saying is don’t leave some of the older fans in the dark with none of the old content we enjoyed.
I genuinely can't see how you would think that the videos he makes aren't genuine quality critiques, also I'm sorry but making the connection between him and Ubisoft for abandoning old fans is insane and just plain wrong. First of all, he doesn't owe you anything cause you're not a customer, you didn't pay for this video, he put it up on his channel because it's what he felt like making and cause thousands of people want to watch it, if you personally don't then simply don't click on a video that you don't want to watch. And secondly, his true fans don't mind the changes in content, the reason we watched his news videos and such is because of his personality and what he brought to the table, which hasn't changed, in fact it's gotten better due to the fact that essays and long-form content have more room for creativity and self-expression than a 5 minute long news video.
For myself FF isn't FF if combat is not turn based. Since FFXII the series have just become another franchise. It looks far too much like FFXVI for me.
There is a spoiler warning at the start for the events of the demo. All I show in this video are the events of the demo. If you missed the very start of the video that let you know there is a spoiler warning then, I'm sorry but that's not really my fault.
The demo kicked us all right in the feels sack 😂
sure as hell did

I finished the prologue last night and was astounded. Can't wait to continue this journey.

Update. About 14 hours in. This game kicks so much ass!
Started today and it's absolutely amazing👍🏻 - I even stopped playing D4 in Act 3 Lvl 40😂
Haven't been this hyped for Final Fantasy in years!
Looking forward to your Black Flag Retrospective!

Devil may cry 6 i mean FF16 is looking pretty fun
I guess Bayonetta and Nier Automata are just DMC games too
@@proggz39 I mean the founder of Platinum Games is the creator of DMC, so I think it's not far fetched
Bro please please please make videos on older FF games like you did for the GOW games. PLEASE!!!
i'm stupid and i still preorder shit but i played the demo before i preordered, can't wait for midnight.
I love you lazerzz 🫶🏼
I wasn’t hot on the game until I played the demo. My god.

@LazerzZ yea, I already own 7 remake, so I'll start there and hopefully end up loving this sometime soon. Cheers for the reply mate. Keep doing you!
I feel you. I was so disappointed with the demo. It didn't pull me in either.
@gamer2101 I want to love it tho :(
