Otherwise, here’s my bargain-basement Lieutenant Commander Data roleplay, where he has a rather odd request… He would like you to take part in a survey to help him better understand the human experience. It shouldn’t take long, and he’s being his usual sweet and naïve self. So, why not, eh? The ‘tin man’ characters were always my favourites.
This Star Trek the Next Generation Roleplay features soft-spoken questions, tapping sounds, some light triggers, and more. I think I got the look down (ignoring the wig) but couldn’t quite nail the voice… Hopefully the mannerisms and character are there enough for you to enjoy it though! Thank you!

🎙 What is ASMR? 🎧
ASMR (autonomous sensory meridian response) is synaesthesia of the soul. It’s a relaxing feeling, it’s a tingling down the spine, or it’s simply a sleep aid. Whether it’s being ‘held’ by someone you have confidence in, or ‘looked after’ by someone with authority, or just feeling ‘safe’ with someone you trust, it uses audio-visual triggers to enable you to let go of your worries and stresses - even just for a bit.
📽 What is FPC? 🎞
FPC (first person cinema) takes all the relaxing elements of ASMR but has much more of a focus on immersion and the suspension of disbelief. It’s kinda like being the main character in your own short movie, with popular figures you know and love, or entirely created worlds - just for you. There won’t be any visible mics or traditional triggers in these videos, and they will seem more unintentional than the usual ASMR videos - but they are unique and relaxing experiences designed to transport you to different places, worlds, and times.

Data tracking down the one autistic crew member to ask stuff is conceptually pretty funny
i like the idea that Data can interface with the PADD directly and is just loudly tapping on it to simulate pressing the buttons in order to appear more normal

Not to get sentimental in a youtube comment section but as an autistic person, data was a personal godsend as a child. Data always felt like a small piece of myself in a programme that was so far away. Watching this as an adult made me feel the same.
Not only did you manage to imitate his mannerisms, but you also didn't forget about such a detail as Data's characteristic head movement...

So. My mom just had surgery for pancreatic cancer. I just found out I need a hip replacement. My stepdad has a brain tumor and needs surgery to restore his hearing. It’s been a ROUGH few weeks. I literally just got home from the hospital where I was taking care of my mom, and this was the first ASMR video I saw when I opened up my feed. TNG has been a comfort show for me since I was a child. This is perfect for right now. Thank you for always bringing your creativity to the forefront, Jim.
