Star Trek Medical ASMR | Vulcan Mind Meld Roleplay

- So, I last did a public Star Trek video around four years ago 😳. I did publish an exclusive Spock roleplay for my wonderful Patrons last year too, which was actually filmed a year before that, but never saw the light of YT. I also waned to make a video called 'Dr. Spock gives you a cranial nerve exam on the millennium falcon', but realised that title might be quite contentious...
Anyway, that information isn't exactly required 😅. The upshot is that this video is a combination of the original STTNG medical bay roleplay video and the Spock & chill roleplay. I'm The Next Generation to the warpcore, so my Star Trek videos will always been in that era (I was born at some point in the 80s. The 1880s, of course).
I think this is because TNG will always be linked to ASMR for me - especially the 'ship in a bottle' episodes, where the main ambient sounds were the ship itself and the occasional pink noise of incidental string surges to transition scenes. Otherwise, the episodes were nearly always reliably chill, safe, and relaxing - a very friendly future where people just try to do holistic good. That's not to say I don't enjoy DS9; oh no! I love DS9, and how it was a precursor for shows like BSG... And of course, Voyager was revelatory following that. But I have to admit, I haven't watched much in the way of contemporary Star Trek, but yeah I guess it's okay or whatever.
F--king hell I'm going on. In this video, an awkward 'tin man' Vulcan will conduct a cranial nerve examination and general health check, before even-more-awkwardly initiating a mind meld in order to become even-more-even-more-awkwardly friends with you. There are lots of relaxing sounds, follow the light of the tricorder beepy doodad thing, and positive affirmations mixed with very Vulcan personal attention. All of this is cushioned with the engine and computer sounds you'd expect from a galaxy class starship in order to help you rest and relax. Sooooo, enjoy!

🎙 What is ASMR? 🎧
ASMR (autonomous sensory meridian response) is synaesthesia of the soul. It’s a relaxing feeling, it’s a tingling down the spine, or it’s simply a sleep aid. Whether it’s being ‘held’ by someone you have confidence in, or ‘looked after’ by someone with authority, or just feeling ‘safe’ with someone you trust, it uses audio-visual triggers to enable you to let go of your worries and stresses - even just for a bit.
📽 What is FPC? 🎞
FPC (first person cinema) takes all the relaxing elements of ASMR but has much more of a focus on immersion and the suspension of disbelief. It’s kinda like being the main character in your own short movie, with popular figures you know and love, or entirely created worlds - just for you. There won’t be any visible mics or traditional triggers in these videos, and they will seem more unintentional than the usual ASMR videos - but they are unique and relaxing experiences designed to transport you to different places, worlds, and times.

I was so caught up in the obvious not flirting flirting that the longing and powerlessness caught me so off guard and was weirdly on brand. This felt like a genuine mini-therapy session, I got more caught up in it than most roleplays. Thank you for that, needed a vulcan to tell me to be kind to myself
this was excellent. it is clear that he is an amazing actor, but also his script is both well-written and demonstrates familiarity with the series beyond someone who vaguely knows about star trek. it all combines to be an excellent piece of work. laudations.

I love his understated sass, and deadpan delivery gives a great edge to his comments about our tardiness and disregard of starship protocol. His spa day prescription feels all the more sweet and imbued with an emotional depth that wins out over his Vulcan detachment. It’s really affecting and I think I have a big crush on this character now, along with many, many others in Jim’s repertoire. Sorry if that’s an inappropriate comment, and makes anyone feel uncomfortable! Much Agape to all!
Ok, but I started sobbing at the part where he talks about giving so much to others and not enough to yourself. I've been pouring from a near empty cup for so long now, it feels nice to have someone acknowledge that, even if it's just a role play.
He is beautiful to me I’m in love with him. :’) I have the softest spot for Pure hearted/kind characters that are awkward as hell like this. 10/10 will watch this every night before bed for the foreseeable future.

Allow me to share my delusional? (Idk man after finishing the video I don't think it's that delusional) take on this particular character because this was extremely immersive and I could NOT help but imagine a storyline as the video went along because I've had a thing for Vulcans for over a decade now:
We are actually dating him, but we're keeping it a secret because people will gossip if they find out a Vulcan is dating a human and we want to avoid it for now. However, we had an argument of some sort with him recently, maybe over him accidentally dismissing our feelings about something that happened to us that maybe wasn't "that big of a deal" but made us upset, and maybe we needed some time to cool down before coming back to him and talking things through with him and making up. However, because although Vulcans are very rational they also feel things very intensely as well, it is likely he thought about the argument a lot and feels that he needs to apologize for it, in his own way. But, since we are working and Vulcans are VERY professional, this is his way to show us he cares while making sure to stay professional the entire time. We are late because we're still a bit angry, and in his way he tells us that (maybe) it hurt him that we were late this time. Then as the video progresses, we understand what he's trying to do so we start to soften up, and he also notices. And by the time we ask him if he's flirting, we're already back in a playful mood because we completely understood what he's doing with this checkup.
Now, once the mind meld happens, we see how he feels about what happened and he sees how we feel, and we probably even think that we love him, which makes him go "oh" because it means we still want him. Then he asks us on a date while acting professional the whole time, and keeps calling us "friend" only cause we're keepig the relationship a secret.

Do Vulcans ever have romantic relationships?
@@jkhartley1260 I certainly think it's possible! Vulcans do _have_ emotions after all but they suppress those emotions through meditation. I think a vulcan with strong enough emotions could very well have a romantic relationship! Also, there are some vulcans who are theorized to have been in romantic relationships (Spocks father for one, but I think that one is cannon actually) so it's definitely not unheard of.
I have to say that the ambient sounds in this are my favourite. I always quite liked your Star Trek videos Jim so this is a treat.

but Stargate is the only franchine that use Star Trek and Star Wars references as in-universe jokes which makes it the only canon reality HEHEHE.
This type of communication is so comforting to me. I feel overwhelmed and uncomfortable with strong emotional displays. My ex always told me I was robotic, cold, and unfeeling because I would stay pragmatic and level when he would get heated. It always hurt me that he didn't understand that if I got emotional it wouldn't help, it would just escalate things. I'd be calm and controlled because I cared enough to speak thoughtfully instead of irrationally. He never got it. Thank you, Jim, I'd love to see more Vulcan videos, they're very reassuring.

I think Dr. Spock would make an excellent CBT Therapist; pointing out all of our cognitive distortions and self defeating coping strategies that make no sense, and helps to have someone point them out. His logic and level headed perspective would probably be very therapeutic. He’s also quite compassionate and sensitive towards us, so I would definitely sign up if he branched out into mental health care. Also, are we going to see a follow up to this video, enjoying a spa day together? I think a few of us are just a little bit eager to see that happen, judging by the comments here! My father was in love with Star Trek, and would show me TNG as a child in the early 00s. I started to share his love for the show. I keep coming back to TNG, the creativity of the show is fantastic, and the crew is wonderful. Sadly my father passed away from cancer two years ago.
This video is very special to me, as it makes me feel like a part of the crew on board the enterprise. Thank you. My father would not understand ASMR, but I would like to think I would want to share this video with him.
