    Really nice to see you both in this video :D For the bi-/pansexual matter, to my mind, to be bi is to be attractive to two or more genders and to be pan is to be attracted to someone regardless of their gender. So, in that case, of course, you don't "need" to be pan to date a trans person. For a pan, it shouldn't matter and for a bi, a trans guy is still a guy (and vice versa with trans girl) so I don't see where the problem is ^^'

    • @aktdoa
      @aktdoa  2 ปีที่แล้ว +9

      that's an interesting way of explaining it, thanks! Personally I would describe my bisexuality as how you described pansexuality - I don't take people's gender identities into account when it comes to whether or not I'm attracted to them. But that's how I've always perceived bisexuality, it was never a "one or the other" type thing for me; I think the sayings "attracted to two or more genders" and "attracted to people regardless of gender" are equivalent.

    • @Lilly_LMS
      @Lilly_LMS 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@aktdoa Indeed, I think many definitions are valid. The difference between Bi and Pan is kind of blurred in a way. The most important thing is to be in alignment with yourself and to be able to communicate about it :)

    It's not transphobic for someone not to want to date someone because they're trans if the reason is that they're not attracted to people of a certain sex or gender. If it's based on negative views about trans people specifically, then it's transphobic.

      Yeah, like we stated in the video, neither of us think that saying you don't want to date someone is transphobic unless your specific reasoning has something to do with the fact that they are trans. Like, if you tell me you don't date redheads, that's weird, but not transphobic. But if you tell me you won't date me because I'm trans, THAT is just transphobia.

    I am in between being a pansexual and bisexual, it's hard to find the difference. But what matters is a personality and a soul

  • @Ash___________
    @Ash___________ 2 ปีที่แล้ว +11

    First off: this is really sweet, y'all are lovely etc.
    Second off: I don't know how this myth got started that being pan means being attracted to trans people. As someone who is both very trans & very pan, I want to be super clear:
    Being pan *does* mean being attracted to people irrespective of sex & gender: women (trans or otherwise), men (trans or otherwise) & all the colours of the nonbinary rainbow from agender to pangender).
    That *does* specifically include nonbinary people. If someone's attracted to masculine men & feminine women but not enbies, that's fine & all, and it's another perfectly valid type of bisexual experience, but it's not pansexuality - not even if some of those masculine men & feminine women happen to be trans.
    Being pan does *not* mean being attracted to women/men who are trans rather than cis. Men are men & women are women; trans-vs-cis status has absolutely nothing whatsoever to do with it. If a straight woman dates a trans dude, that doesn't make her any less straight - dating dudes is a very straight-girl thing to do. If a lesbian is attracted to a trans woman, that does not make her pan.
    It's really frustrating because this myth makes it sound like pansexuals are transphobic & think of binary trans men as not really men - & ditto trans women - when in reality a lot of us (like a lot a lot) are nonbinary trans ourselves.

    • @aktdoa
      @aktdoa  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      This is a great comment, you really broke pansexuality down into something easily understandable - thank you so much for that. I'll admit that I haven't really ever had a clear picture of pansexuality in my head, mainly because my own bisexuality crosses off a lot of the same points your pansexuality does (Like, in my head, I describe me being bisexual as me not being attracted to one or two specific genders, but rather my attraction to someone has nothing to do with their gender at all - like it doesn't even cross my mind, if you're hot you're hot, etc)..
      Not sure if that's the "best" way to go about defining it, but that's just what bisexuality means to me, and I'd only ever heard people equate pansexuality to trans people specifically, so again I really appreciate your comment/explanation!

    I think the difference between a trans guy and a cis guy is that we are more in tune with our feminine side and we understand what women go through such as periods etc. And we know what to do to treat periods we also know about female anatomy more and what women like we also know where the clitoris is unlike cis men who wouldn't even know the first thing about how it works cis men also know nothing about periods so its hard for cis girls to tell a cis guys that she's on her peroid and need help because they find it gross when trans men actually understand that having a period is a normal thing for women to have so they're more comforting and we understand women problems in general such as insecurity and the way women are treated in society
