    the statement about male pattern baldness only being a concern if it's in the family history is incorrect. men can, and do, go bald even if no one in their immediate family is bald. men can have thick hair in their 20s, then suddenly find themselves balding in their 30s, or even younger. baldness is just a fact of life for men, and there is no question that both me and you are at risk.

      hair loss can be preventable if you start treating early on, but if you're genetically predisposed to male pattern baldness, there's not a whole lot you can do to stop it entirely, just lessen/slow the effects.

    you’re the first trans guy i see saying his hairline preT was already high ; im pre-T and my hairline is also already naturally high ( really ) and my hair is thin.
    a lot of people say their hair thins down on T, their hairline recedes etc but they are usually people who had a rather nice hairline and thick hair.
    but with my hairline, receding a little would just be me going bald in a week, and my hair thinning out more would be my hair disappearing into oblivion.
    so not everyone experiences hairline receding / hair thinning ?

    • @user-fn7et4tm4u
      @user-fn7et4tm4u หลายเดือนก่อน

      i have this slight hope that the highest your hairline is preT the less its gonna recede haha

    • @aktdoa
      @aktdoa  หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      I would definitely say that my hairline has more or less stayed the same since starting T (as that's something I continuously obsess over). One of my biggest fears is going bald, so I take preventative measures pretty seriously (rosemary oil, scalp massages, caffeine or mint shampoo, etc.) and those have absolutely made a difference, both in regrowing the parts of my hairline I decimated from years of tight ass buns/braids and from preventing any thinning out from testosterone. There are lots of ways to prevent hair loss!

    I am a 58 year old Christian woman and I don’t understand any of this. I was a tomboy growing up and absolutely HATED puberty. The day my mim explained about oeriods, I thiught, No way! I don’t want that to ever happen to me! And later, on the day I actually got my first period I cried for hours. But eventually those feelings went away and I embraced my body and was ok again. Why is this happening? Why are so many young people rejecting the body they were born with?

    • @maxmanuelstraubinger9196
      @maxmanuelstraubinger9196 2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Think the number of us only „increases“ because we feel more comfortable and receive more educated about certain topics to finally understand what’s going on with and in us and what we want or not want. Starts with little things but can lead to big ones. I think nowadays people are more brave as the acceptance grows (even if it’s slow). Diversity is now a „more common“ term than it was 50 years ago. It’s not that there exist more e.g. transgender people than back then in my opinion nowadays people are just more open and aren’t afraid / don’t want to hide themselves. Think it’s just a different time and so peoples behaviour is different.

    • @aktdoa
      @aktdoa  2 หลายเดือนก่อน +3

      I appreciate your comment, but I think there’s a big difference between a cisgender person being uncomfortable with puberty and a transgender person’s experience with gender dysphoria.
      You’re right that lots of people like yourself hate their experience with puberty, but eventually “get over it” or are able to live and accept their body after a period of time. Unfortunately for transgender people, it’s not that simple. While we also hate puberty, we don’t hate it for the same reasons you probably did - it was a reminder for us that we were born “in the wrong body”. I cannot be comfortable embracing a body that, in my mind, I was never meant to have. Experiencing gender dysphoria is a constant battle for us, and it typically doesn’t just “go away”, unless we take action against it (such as beginning HRT, or undergoing gender affirming surgeries, etc).

There are many nuances to this movement that I frankly cannot understand. @@maxmanuelstraubinger9196 I have been thinking deeply about your remark for nine days now. It made me feel good, to be thanked for trying to understand. But it also made me feel awful, because other Christians should have already tried to understand. Sometimes it feels like the world is full of desperate people drowning in an icy, black ocean, only to have someone in a boat row up to them and kick them in the face. Jesus wants us to help people not hurt them. He wants us to show people how good He is not drive them away from Him. He knew that not everybody was going to be into Him or believe in Him. And He got criticized plenty for hanging around with people that religious type people didn't think were good enough. He called the religious leaders of His day hypocrites, because they were. It isn't right to only try to understand people that you like or that you agree with already. It takes more effort and it's more righteous to try to understand the people that you wouldn't naturally fall in with. I don't think I'll ever be able to fully understand the struggles of a transgender person any more than I'll ever be able to fully understand the struggles of an autistic person. But if God asks me to try, then I'm gonna try. And I'm gonna be good to every person that I engage with in this world. And I hope that you find many, many people to understand you. Because, even though I don't know you, I sense in just this one little remark from you a need to be understood. I hope good things for you.
