I’ve owned the 2020 Limited for 2 weeks and its my first Hyundai. Prior vehicle Infiniti M35 which is a great vehicle. The Hyundai Stormy Sea exterior with black leather interior is well laid out. The handling is well balanced. In the Sport mode there is no lag. The low 1500 RPM tork is fine for daily driving. Breaking in this vehicle is, in a word...fun. The tech features on this car are a step above its immediate competition. Nice review.
Great Review, my friend! Got my 2021 Hyundai Sonata limited last week! Love it! It has Better pickup than I imagined! That torque really gets it to move! Very impressed! Love it!
I might look into this vechile, and see what's the best trim level to purchase because the Elantra is good on gass, but this has better room for space.
Great review. Got this in white with same interior on Saturday. Looks amazing in person and I love it. This has features that cars costing thousands more would have. People comment on how sporty it looks. Interestingly, one of the things that wows them the most is the size of the trunk. And of course the parking assist.
I like this interior very much but do you find you have any problem with the tan or camel portions of the dash reflecting way too much in the windshield?
I usually find Hyundai's designs to be overstyled (Lookin' at you, Palisade.) as if once a design is completed it goes through one more review that adds a few creases, bulges, and chrome do-dads. The chrome/led combo "lasso" is unique but I have a feeling it's a bit over the top after awhile. Nevertheless, the overall design works well (imo). It's a handsome car. One area where Hyundai does extremely well is pioneering useful features. The camera views of blind spots when changing lanes is one example. The alert if a child or pet is left in the car is another. In fact, I think it should be a mandated safety feature. The automated fore/aft parking feature is still another. Though I'd prefer explosive sledge hammers that emerge from the doors and move humungous SUV's parked in "compact only" spaces out of the way. As far as performance is concerned the current model is easily adequate but I'm looking forward to the N-Line version to be introduced later this year. That will include a turbo version of the engine and hopefully other improvements for more spirited handling. P.S. You're right about the adaptive cruise control, the same system used in KIA products. It's the best I've encountered on my Sorento. As far as headroom is concerned, get used to it. It's the price one pays for the coupe-like design of sedans these days. Besides, at over 6' tall you're a freak. :)

hyundai provides more features than other car brands in its class and its reliability rating is equivalent to toyota and honda these days. i don't know why people still hesitate to accept hyundai as a great car manufacturer.
Very fair, balanced review. The interior design of this car is wonderful. Clean and that door sounded like an Audi when you shut it. I wish the sloping back trend would slow down or at least build the car tall enough to not compromise rear headroom for taller people.

This car basically has everything those cars have, and then some, but for way less money. Too bad it's not rear wheel drive, but I suppose I could at least test drive one before making my decision. Nice video!

Another review that mentions an issue with headroom. I bought one of these a couple weeks ago and am 6'2" and have at least a few inches of headroom. Granted the seat is at its lowest setting but the back also isn't laid back very far. All in all I love this car.
I used to buy a new Honda Accord V-6 with every model change. When they dropped the V-6 in favor of the 2.0 Turbo I decided not to buy. Honda's warranty is 60K miles. If the turbo blows the engine goes with it. I decided it wasn't worth the risk. I bought a 2018 Turbo Sonata, I love the car. Great handling and good power. I would not buy the 2020 turbo as it is underpowered. My next vehicle will likely be a Toyota as long as I can get the 6 cylinder. I can't stand underpowered cars.
If I was in the market for a sedan.. Hyundai would be on my list. They are leap frogging other brands these days for value and performance. But nah I’ll be getting Mx-5 cuz I just want some impractical fun.
@@Daniel-rw2gy it is actually this trim level. I've already been to the dealership and test drove. Offered it to me at 27k. Just wanting on a lil more for a down payment
I was already sold on getting one when I saw it in person. I'm waiting for more info on their supposed n-line variant. This will be my car for a loooooooong time.
Have 2018 sonata premium 2L turbo comfortable daily runner, but when I really push it to the limit the turbo really works well, just gotta watch out for the talk steer, can catch you out, rewarding comfortable car to drive, like the new model just needs the 2L motor.
@Hovscorpion12 Smart Park: Tight garage or leaving a parking space when your squeezed by new parkers is fine but using it to get into a parking space is asking for trouble. I've read where the braking is a bit grabby on the hybrid due to regen and mechanical brakes having to work together. Simpler to go with the 1.6 Turbo as 31 mpg average is good enough for me.
The back seating must have a less room than the previous generation. I'm about 6 foot and in a 2015 Sonata with the seat all the way back I still have severl inches of room, it's super spacious!
I actually sat in a 2020 Sonata limited last night. After hearing all the reviews, I was extremely disappointed in finding no real soft touch materials anywhere on the dashboard. The lower tier and especially the center console use of materials was extremely cheap feeling. The drive mode selector for example was a very cheap feeling plastic switch. Also disappointed to find no softer padding for the drivers knee on the outside of the console. Everything did appear to be solidly built though. I guess after sitting in the Mazda 6 and Accord, (which I also like better for their sportier dynamics and more engaging feel) I just expected more from the newest model in the class. Oh well.
WB Wayne Long time no comment Wayne! Good to hear from you! So to your points, the materials are not of the highest quality but are good for the class. Where this car shines the most is in the technology, features, and styling within the given price point. The Sonata N-Line should deliver on the performance aspect and the upcoming Kia Optima will deliver on the quality of materials you failed to find in this car. At least that’s what I assume from looking at the current line-up of Hyundai & Kia vehicles.
Great review Forrest. Dang, now I want one, I really want one! Those pricey European cars don't seem any more appealing at two to three times the price.
This car has built in RGB... There's a lot of tacky after market things that offer rgb, but looks tacky. The ambient rgb in this car looks sooo clean. I hope future cars will have this feature built in.
I was thinking about getting the new 2021 Tesla Model 3 but I am only 15 years old so I need to look at the bigger picture I need this car when I'm older OF course I see it has most features I want that the Tesla has but it still doesn't have gamin :(
The lighter colored interior part is a no on color. Nice improvements if they follow through on the more powerful engines; Beats the one I had for 20 years.
Hyundai makes good cars now. I prefer my Kona over my Honda CRV. Hyundai is strong like Toyota was back in the 1980s and 90s. They are well made and a tremendous value.
Thanks for your review. The parking brake switch should be located on the console near the transmission selector buttons and not on the left bottom corner of the instrument panel. Is this Sonata made in Alabama?
I know Hyundai monitors these videos. I have a suggestion, did you ever think of putting those back up cameras on the inside? Mine on my Elantra Limited gets so dirty, I can’t see anything when backing up. I do wipe it clean, then it works fine. The problem is to remember to wipe it before you need it. Maybe it would be better mounted above the 3 rd break light in side the car. Just a suggestion. Love my Hyundai, can’t wait for the Sonata N to come out to replace the Elantra. 😘
Can’t wait to turn in my leased Tucson in June - I was going to trade in for the 2019 last year but I am SO glad I waited. 2020 Sonata Limited here I come :)

Another review that mentions an issue with headroom. I bought one of these a couple weeks ago and am 6'2" and have at least a few inches of headroom. Granted the seat is at its lowest setting but the back also isn't laid back very far. All in all I love this car.
well done - love the look... I'm still up in the air about the nose... love the BSM system with the camera view to change lanes.
Been driving 2months and this vehicle is a leap forward. 2.5 is good also. Look always gets better by days:)
Jae Kim how often do you fill your tank? Is it really a hybrid?
I have the 2019 Elantra GT-N. It's breathtaking.
It's also very fast.
To create more headroom, just get a haircut. 😉
Very comprehensive review! The best review I found! Thank You! 👏
That sounds of nature feature is gonna be crucial for those car naps haha
Keep up the good work man. Production on point, and you have your own style which is hard with this genre which is nearly full of creators now.
Nice review of the Sonata. At the top of my list at this point and I've done some research on similar vehicles.
⛔ Love this review, very detail oriented 👌👍💯
Thank you so much!
If u get the turbo get the paddle shifters it will definitely improve your excelleration and bring the turbo out
I'm literally a month away from buying a 2020 Accord Hybrid... i'm reconsidering now that i'm seeing this is coming as a hybrid soon.
If I was in the market for a sedan.. Hyundai would be on my list. They are leap frogging other brands these days for value and performance.
But nah I’ll be getting Mx-5 cuz I just want some impractical fun.
Dealers are selling this car for 27 to 28k right now... That's an absolute steal. Will be getting mine in a month or so
Probably not at this trim level..
@@Daniel-rw2gy it is actually this trim level. I've already been to the dealership and test drove. Offered it to me at 27k. Just wanting on a lil more for a down payment
@@CommunionCups thats pretty crazy.. can't believe you can get it that cheap
@@dan428 Hyundai was down in sales last year and sedans are hard to sell in general. Big discounts cause of those two reasons I believe
There’s so much to like about this car 🥰
Rainy day sound is same like when i peeing in bathroom from above.
Just watched you talk about the Fisker Ocean on Ride Tech News! 👍🏻
AWESOME!!
Car looks good in person.
This was a great video review. I was sold, until GDI injection. Good luck with the car man, it’s beautiful
that is my dream car 😥
I was thinking about getting the new 2021 Tesla Model 3 but I am only 15 years old so I need to look at the bigger picture I need this car when I'm older OF course I see it has most features I want that the Tesla has but it still doesn't have gamin :(
You're only 15 and you want a Tesla?
The lighter colored interior part is a no on color. Nice improvements if they follow through on the more powerful engines; Beats the one I had for 20 years.
Hyundai/KIA are killing the game. Great job!
2021 mazda 3 premium plus or the 2020 Hyundai Sonata limited?? 🤔🤔
I got a 2014 I need this right now.
da african420 don’t feel bad, I still have a 2009! I’m getting the 2020 though.
Great Review I haven’t saw one yet on the road(2020 Hyundai Sonata)
Hyundai makes good cars now. I prefer my Kona over my Honda CRV. Hyundai is strong like Toyota was back in the 1980s and 90s. They are well made and a tremendous value.
Thanks for your review. The parking brake switch should be located on the console near the transmission selector buttons and not on the left bottom corner of the instrument panel. Is this Sonata made in Alabama?
Great review! Beautiful car.
Can't wait to see the Kia Optima review
Can’t wait to turn in my leased Tucson in June - I was going to trade in for the 2019 last year but I am SO glad I waited. 2020 Sonata Limited here I come :)
Do you recommend the 10 year warranty and the paint protection
I dont understand peope hating front
I think its unique

It's the giant grill. I look at it and just think B O I what is that air grill
