An excellent description of an excellent accessory! I'll drop my useless Tilta cage in the bin and order one of these. Streets ahead of the Titla design.

I wonder if with Ulazi design, can freewell magnetic filter be placed on it.

It’s arrived! Nicely made - just figuring a way to keep the rubber caps in place. As you say, need to double check the DJI accessories lugs lock fully into position. Not sure if it’s my imagination but the magnets in the Ulanzi seem extra strong. Works well on a bike on a Pgytech mount.

In several Shops the description states that it’s also usable with the power combo, can somebody confirm?
How long before the action 2 overheats when used in the cage at 4k30 or 4k60 with the high heat threshold setting turned on?
Depends on your usage scenario. Honestly, I use my camera outside most of the time, in a moving scenario (mounted to a bike for instance) and with some airflow Ive not had any overheating.....

I am not sure if I am doing anything wrong though, but the red clips don' t snap into place, like your demo shows. They are very loose and don't have a reassuring cick when closing, they rattle almost. Any thoughts?
I bought it with the camera used and when packaged, it was ceratinly securely clipped, so I guess I'm doing something wrong?
Should certainly sit secure, otherwise the camera will move around while in use, and you run the risk of it working its way out of the case!
I owned the Ulanzi cage for a while, never used it and never checked the USB functionality. Now I'm trying to change the camera module or connect a mic using the USB port on the cage and it doesn't work. Also looks like the USB cable does not fully inserts inside the port. Tried different cables. I ordered the cage because I thought that it would allow me to have 2 USB ports, but only then I noticed that the screen module doesn't have the connection for the spring pins on the cage.
Can I use ND filters with the case on? I saw your review on the small rig case plastic case as well. For protection from heavy use, which one will u recommend? Ulanzi or Small Rig?
Hold for a moment - I'm currently reviewing the SmallRig metal cage too - video will go live in a couple of days! You may find that works even better?! ;o)
But for small-rig, I need to buy both single and dual separately right? Can I use filter with Ulanzi or Small Rig??
DJI Action2 has overheating issue. Does this cage help with heat dissipation? Or will it get hotter?

Transfer from one module to the other can be quite time consuming.

@@lutzmix someone said if you remove the SD card, then re insert it, then it will immediately take the footage from the camera module , saving you from waiting.

@@spirittravels. no that is not true.you must aktive transfer to sd card, but you can choose storage to sd card .camera modul solo intern storage ad the accu modul change to sd card automatic. You must stop and start iff you ara filming with the camera modul.
Intern you cant select no single file, you can only transfer all files . No otg so you cant use your phone with usbc cable.
horizontal like gopro is possible.
footage is better than with OA3
use a computer or tablet to transfer the files you see the sd card and the intern drive

I believe the first batch sold out quite quickly. They are now out of stock everywhere it seems! Hopefully more are on the way soon!

No
you can't use filters on the single part only on the twain part.
Does this allow for you to then plug in a USB-C to power the main module and a microphone to the attached module?
Also, when the screen/power module is attached and you plug in USB-C power to the Ulanzi cage, does that actually provide power to both the camera module & the attached screen/power module?

USB-C port in the cage is a pass through to the camera module only - the display/power module do not reverse charge via the pins.
how do you attach an external mic while using the cage? do you have to use it in dual mode or does the pass through port on the bottom allow audio?
@@MaxximumAttack External mic would be attached with the USB port on the power/screen module. The USB-C port on the bottom of the cage only works with the camera itself and it is only for passing power through. You can't utilize that as an 'extra port' in any capacity unfortunately. I have not found or heard of anywhere anyone can power and utilize a microphone system with this device at the same time.
Does the cage have a magnet on the top (that works with the new DJI firmware that detects their original protective case) to allow for greater usability when it comes to thermals? (not talking about heat dissipation but the greater thermal threshold that the DJI Action 2 software allows for)
I really like this cage (the USB charging part + the way it handles the second module compared to the original DJI protective case which has had cases where people say it fell out - the bottom case for the extra module stayed on the magnetic mount but the top(main camera) + top case + the second module came off from the bottom case
If it has the top magnet - I'm sold :D
No magnet Im afraid - but you can replicate the same as the DJI Case by adding your own magnet instead ;o)

Its stupid because you need the 2nd module for the memory storage
