Part of the issue is that Pierce’s skill set doesn’t really mesh with The Boss’s style. It says a lot about how The Boss operates that their most trusted lieutenant is Johnny Gat. Pierce’s skill set is more aligned with influence and planning, that would mesh much better with Ben King’s style
@Skeletor I'm excited for the new Saints Row, and this is coming from someone who played all of the previous games. I'm glad they're doing something different and the fact that it's college students needing to pay off their loans and they started gang in order to steal the money, I think that's hilarious. Now it's not off the rails crazy like the previous two Saints Row games, but still crazy enough. I will miss Johnny Gat though.

Agreed I'd love to see a saint's row animated series, especially if they get Anthony Burch working on the script. Now's kinda the perfect time to do it too with the success of more mature rated series like Rick & Morty and the Harley Quinn series.

The saints don’t exist anymore, the gangs of Stillwater became allies under pierce, it’s not confirmed, but my head canon is that Persephone is this worlds incarnation of the boss. The idea is that yeah, the saints got back together, but they’re not the people we knew. I believe that Gat was in a police force, but ended up going into a coma coincidentally when the world shifted into this one.

The Saints would probably be the only ones to remember what once was before the reboot. Basically, earth might take the Zinyak threat seriously and prepare accordingly. This way, earth actually manages to win and Zin tech gets spread around tge planet. That'd explain all the advanced tech they have.
Actually, it isn't, because in Saints Row IV, when Shaundi was telling the Boss that they might be attacked by aliens, she also mentioned that Kinzie had been saying it for a while before Matt and Asha mentioned it to Shaundi. (spoilers for sr4) I don't know why they even went to hell in the first place in the true ending for saints row 4 you find out that zinyak had a time machine so why didn't they just go blow up zinyak before johnny was captured and then earth would not be destroyed and the people for sr4 would disappear due to pardox reasons (or what ever the makers of the game say) and boom no more need of reconning the saints
I'm sad we never got a spinoff about Pierce being in a syndicate against Legion. Sorta like SR3 but your only against STAG fighting to liberate Stilwater.

Even that looks very cartoony and like a copy of Overwatch for single player. That "restore" ending in GOAH was a bang, it had a perfect dark tone to reboot whole series without losing it's core and characters at the same time.
I’ve never played agents of Mayham or really look into it until now but seems like they took saints row characters and basically turn them in overwatch characters

I genuinely dislike Saints Row 1 very much, but i love 2 and 3. 4 was alright, Gat Out Of Hell was just bizarre and Agents Of Mayhem had some decent comedy but it had a very unfocused story, i don't even remember any character except Yeti.

I honestly feel like the canon ending is where they find a new planet also I heard in Saints Row 4 there was an ending where they got a time machine and went back before the destruction of earth to stop Zinyak. I'm hoping for Saints Row 5 we learn more on the Zin Empire and I hope the canon ending is the saints finding a new planet and something big happens again.
I think Volition have already stated that they've made 4 non-canon, but haven't given any details on how that will happen in game. SR5 should see the return of Killbane so we can finally get our revenge on him without sacrificing Shaundi.

For anyone confused this was a game that was made in an attempt to make a multiverse due to gat out of hell and saints row 4s dlc and endings. So it would stand to reason this universe has both the male and female boss character we play as normally under the guise of percephine and Hollywood. The Saints never formed as a gang. Pierce seems to be the only one that seems to still carry out his role in the saints with the other main gangs from Saints row 1 and 2 (and probably 3) while Johnny became a cop and Kinzie decided to stay with the fbi ie. think back to saints row 3 she was fbi whom we kidnap but she ends up preferring gang warfare to the fbi. Shaundai is assumed to be still a stoner and whatever else the other characters we know in saints row reverted to roles that they were somewhat in or are given new roles say like Johnny gat being a cop. (Just a point to make I didn’t play the game so I don’t know the actual storyline they are in but I understand the premise they were going for).

Nope, the universe was reset from the ground up. Its an alternate universe just like Red Faction and the newest game. Its possible Julius died some times after leaving the vice kings since he started that along side King. So the saints were never formed, on top of that Johnny ended up working for the Newark police before leaving to work in Seoul. Its possible the boss died, never existed or was doomed to an average life in Stilwater.
Finally!!!! someone understand what happening to the franchise right now.... most of people started playing saints row since the third so they didn't try the original and real saints row 1&2 and that's why they're okay with the sniv and sn gat out of hell and aom.
I feel if this game got more love and attention the DLC character Mimic would have seen the light of day and allowed us to bring back the build a boss mechanic

@@saint- I want to say I hope for the best, but even though I unironically like the idea of AoM. I like it because it's it's own thing that doesn't have the Saints Row name on it. Yes it has the characters, but it's not a Saints Row game per say. People like GTA because of it's story the older games were genuinely fun, but since GTA IV they just aren't fun to play. You're there for the characters at that point. What made the SR1 and SR2 so good was because they were both fun and had good stories. They were able to balance both. By choosing one direction over the other they alienated the fans and also split the fanbases into the ones that liked the fun, and the ones that liked the story. I really really really want to hope they can pull it together for 5, but if they can't get that balance right then the same thing that happened last time will happen. The game will get a good dedicated bunch of die hard fans and that's it. Which isn't sustainable, considering the direction the last game ended on, they'd have to pull a Halloween remake and then just cut out everything Saints Row 3 and later introduced. BUUUT then if they do that they will have successfully alienated both sides of the fanbase, because the people that liked 3 and 4 more will feel like it's not the Saints Row they knew. Which is why it kind've seems like a lose lose situation here

Just makes me wonder since we do know Saints Row 5 is in the works, I wonder how the lore of saints row continues from here

For anyone confused this was a game that was made in an attempt to make a multiverse due to gat out of hell and saints row 4s dlc and endings. So it would stand to reason this universe has both the male and female boss character we play as normally under the guise of percephine and Hollywood.
The Saints never formed as a gang. Pierce seems to be the only one that seems to still carry out his role in the saints with the other main gangs from Saints row 1 and 2 (and probably 3) while Johnny became a cop and Kinzie decided to stay with the fbi ie. think back to saints row 3 she was fbi whom we kidnap but she ends up preferring gang warfare to the fbi.
Shaundai is assumed to be still a stoner and whatever else the other characters we know in saints row reverted to roles that they were somewhat in or are given new roles say like Johnny gat being a cop.
(Just a point to make I didn’t play the game so I don’t know the actual storyline they are in but I understand the premise they were going for).

Nope, the universe was reset from the ground up. Its an alternate universe just like Red Faction and the newest game.
Its possible Julius died some times after leaving the vice kings since he started that along side King. So the saints were never formed, on top of that Johnny ended up working for the Newark police before leaving to work in Seoul.
Its possible the boss died, never existed or was doomed to an average life in Stilwater.

This is an unpopular but I want saints row 5 to continue the way they did sr3 and sr4 just less grindy challenges and make a tad bit better story don’t get me wrong I love SR3 and 4’s story but 5 could be the greatest

That's just how the gaming Industy is, gamers that don't know any better call EVERY open world game in the city a GTA clone. Now it's dead, and I'm sad.
@@saint- I want to say I hope for the best, but even though I unironically like the idea of AoM. I like it because it's it's own thing that doesn't have the Saints Row name on it. Yes it has the characters, but it's not a Saints Row game per say.
People like GTA because of it's story the older games were genuinely fun, but since GTA IV they just aren't fun to play. You're there for the characters at that point. What made the SR1 and SR2 so good was because they were both fun and had good stories. They were able to balance both. By choosing one direction over the other they alienated the fans and also split the fanbases into the ones that liked the fun, and the ones that liked the story.
I really really really want to hope they can pull it together for 5, but if they can't get that balance right then the same thing that happened last time will happen. The game will get a good dedicated bunch of die hard fans and that's it. Which isn't sustainable, considering the direction the last game ended on, they'd have to pull a Halloween remake and then just cut out everything Saints Row 3 and later introduced.
BUUUT then if they do that they will have successfully alienated both sides of the fanbase, because the people that liked 3 and 4 more will feel like it's not the Saints Row they knew. Which is why it kind've seems like a lose lose situation here
