Finally !!, a decent engine on this channel. Im a ex Saab Master Tech as well. Did all my training on 9000's. The quality on this build is superb, and is what i would expect from a Saab man. These engines go on forever and dont break, my high power 9000 has 220,000 miles and still going strong. A few points......
Saab B2xx engines really dont like revving high. Yes you can get them to 7000 with Volvo T5 valve springs, but the cranks are not balanced for that kind of rpm.
Also, really wish you had kept Trionic 5. We are doing some amazing things with T5 these days on the UKSaabs forum. Well over 500bhp is easy.
Cant wait til you do the Calibra. Please dont scrap a saab 9000, get a 2000 saab 9-3 2.0T HOT or something. You need the entire engine wiring loom complete with the T5 ECU. You also need the Dash cluster as the speedo generates a pulse that Trionic 5 uses. Im on UKSAABS if you need help and on IG and Twitter too. Same name as here.

@@MannyDelReal Yeah, funny he mentions a decent engine, meanwhile says the Saab cranks arent balanced very well... You can turn stock K-series cranks to 10K+ rpm, even the 99mm cranks from CR-Vs and Accords are great.
The K-series head is vastly superior too.
While the Saab build is interesting, If I was doing a FR setup in an EG, it would be either an LSx or 2JZ

@@harrymcough5545 I would guess under £1k on a B204 or B234. Just add a bigger turbo & injectors. Trionic 5 is opensource now, and a top remap is less than the cost of a tank of fuel from the Legend "Jules HT".

@@MannyDelReal Really. Honestly when people make statements and dont have a clue what they are talking about. A Saab B234 @ 500 or 600bhp, will run at that for 200,000 miles or more. And never fail. Where as the honda lump will destroy itself in no time. As they do....

When I saw RWD Honda first thought it would be s2000 running gear but wow what a mash up all engineered into a mad hatch.

I remember back in 2007 seeing an EG coupe at a car meet spot. It looked odd because the rear sat a little higher than the front. It also had an aluminum drag wing hanging off the trunk which was usually only seem on RWD drag cars. As I got closer, I saw a solid axle rear end tucked under the car. It also had a mini tub to run a small drag radial in the back. When I got to the front of the Civic, a 302ci Ford V8 with a large turbocharger was under the hood. I talked to the owner and had to know why he used the Civic. He told me that surprisingly, the Civic had more structural rigidity than the Mustang which used to run the setup. I never got to see it perform because the owner was only interested in grudge races and no other drag cars were at the meet up.

B235 engines are rubbish sorry. GM built and much weaker than the older B2x4 series Saab designed engines. The 235 cannot go beyond 310bhp stock. Even then they occasionally blow up at that power level.
