“Ivory almonds” or “Jordan almonds” are candy coated almonds that you usually have at your wedding. I think it’s typically an Italian or Greek tradition. i LOVE this song! one of my fav songs from lana. it's so fragile and feminine.. fine china, fresh linen, dresses with tags on, white horses and all, it all sounds like a woman's dreams of happily ever after being shattered and she has nothing to do about it.. which is something i think every woman can emphatise with. just beautiful. i feel like ''birth of your baby, birth of your son'' means the man she was planning to get married with had an affair and that resulted with another woman having his baby, and that coincided with her wedding somehow.. she wore diamonds for her wedding, the same day he had his baby and his mother didn't want him marrying another woman who's not the mother of her grandchild. ''one love begins, one comes undone'' means he preferred this other woman and his child, and his love for her is over. same with ''one life begins, one comes undone''.. his son's life began that day and hers' is over..
Lana recorded this song in the same session as Yes To Heaven, Your Girl, and some Ultraviolence tracks back in 2013. i believe she didn't release it simply cause it didn't fit the dark rock theme of the record. it's probably in my top 3 of her unreleased tracks...

Her "mother to be" is her mother in law. So her mother in law hated her, didn't agree to the marriage. Seeing this song on videos made with the movie "Spencer" which is about Princess Diana's Marriage, puts a lot of perspective into the lyrics. Also in the first verse with the "I wore diamonds for the birth of your baby for the birth of your son" and saying how her husband to be packed his things and was gone, sounds like she was supposed to be married to a man, but then had an affair with another which resulted in a kid. So then I think in the second part of the song she's getting married to this man she has a son with, and her mother in law doesn't like the situation cause maybe she doesn't believe the baby is really his. Maybe her mother in law thinks she's just after their money or something. That's one way to look at it.
I think white horses and ivory almonds are referenced to drugs. Also, if chipped, fine china will just continue to crack slowly over time. Probably Lana finding a way to explain the experience of depression following grief.
When I look up to the verse "All of my dresses with the tags still on them", I can imagine a music video with a lot of wedding dresses with the tags, meaning the love that always begins and comes undone for her. I love that verse ❤

When I look up to the verse "All of my dresses with the tags still on them", I can imagine a music video with a lot of wedding dresses with the tags, meaning the love that always begins and comes undone for her. I love that verse ❤
Mere, I recommend to Oktaf Kanis song called 'Starlight' thank you! 👍🏻
lana has hundreds of unreleased songs, i hope you do more!! some of her best work
Hi Mere, I love knowing that you are going to react to Violets Bend Backward Over The Grass. There is a spokenword of this book, where Lana is reading each poem (Lana has a beautiful voice) and there is music in the background. It would be great to see you react to each situation. By the way, today you are really beautiful...well always.
I’m so shocked how this song is not official it is so amazing
you suited this hair so much likeeeeee
Please react to "how to disappear" by Lana next I'm really sure you're gonna love that song sm. Thanks for the wonderful reactions❤
On my way to order your new book ! I think you are very insightful and bright and I really can’t Wait to read your book and see your interpretation of Violet bent backwards over the grass .
You should film in a lawn . Would be iconic -X
Thank you for doing this, it’s my all time favorite from Lana
Thank you so much for reacting to this song! This song hits close to home. I learn so much from you lol you're like my second mom now hahaha thanks!!!! :)))
U got her poetry book!!! U gotta react to her audio of her reading it! Her talking voice + the instruments and music... just takes you in that world
this song could b about her the close friend jamie king and the birth of her son, idk if lana broke off an engagement during this time period- but it’s speculated.
hi Mere❤ i’m a huge Lana fan and your reactions mean so much to me and i’m always looking forward to a new video from you !! i’d recommend the song “is this happiness” by Lana. i heard it for the first time recently and i’m already in love with it. i hope if you listen to it you will love it too. thank you for the amazing videos and keep up the good work!👍❤️
Literally the less important thing about this song but I believe when she says ivory almonds she's talking about her nails being ivory colored and almond shaped for her wedding
so glad to see you back! also loving ur makeup today stunning as always! cant wait to read your book but so glad ur back!!🤍
OMG THANK YOU!!! ❤❤❤❤
Finally ❤ loved it
One of my favorite songs i can sing so purely
I always thought "Mother to Be" is Mother in Law and not a mother about to give birth
you're my fav reactor ever, Thankss
She said "My mother to be" as in "hers" I believe what she meant her future mother-in-law, from the groom that just ran away.
can you react to marina shes a great artist and her music is amazing she also worked with some producers that worked with lana, she used to be called marina and the diamonds, you should check out some of her songs like: the state of dreaming, living dead, immortal, the valley of the dolls and many more i would love to hear your opinion about them love your makeup btw!
Love this!❤
You’re glowing 💛🧡
Lana songs always give me "Sad Melancholy Poetry" vibe.
OMGG I recommend both Fine China and Violet bent backwards over the grass like million times I'm crying literally😭🥹
15:24 - too true. but also, it got leaked and she rarely releases leaked songs (minus the exceptions)
Thank u dear for your reaction! You look beautiful btw 💜💜💜
Mere! I appreciate you so much and hope you’re doing well ❤
if ur looking for some happy/ beautifully poetic music to listen to, Mitski's new song My Love Mine All Mine is a good one :^)
Great reaction 💗
off topic: you’re SO PRETTY!!!!
Lana has so many great unreleased songs it’s crazy 😂
React to “I talk to Jesus” ITS SO SAD 😫 one of Lanas best unreleased
omg i can’t wait for you to react to violet, oh my gosh it’s my favourite that i own
The reason she doesn’t release songs is that like 90% of her songs are written by other people and she doesn’t own the rights. I signed off and we got 4 albums. Never got paid.
This song is soo honeymoon coded
I would suggest listing to Lana read her book. there's just something about the way she reads it
Please react to tired of singing the blues
I can see this song to be too personal to release as she wouldn’t want the public commenting on if it is real 🥺 I lost my mum in 2020 and I cried so much after that I can’t cry now, I get emotional looking at photos or thinking of her but I can’t cry anymore 😞
Mere is beautiful in this video!
