I love Sparks, on a moot point, that must be a wig and not Russells real hair.

He probably prefers it. His choice. Anyway slagdonna likely has one, it's been bleaching its skank roots for so long. Pity it wasn't as hazardous to her as SHE is to us!

Looks like his real hair to me....maybe had the straighteners on it though to banish the curl. Loved his curls.
It's a bit Davy Jones of the Monkees here.

Yes, a massive inspiration on shit acts like Kaisers Chefs & Franz Ferdidandies who would be lucky to sound ANYTHING like them!

God yeah Franz Ferdinand, hope they don't collaborate or something.

@@christianlesurfmusic Ha! Wouldn't that be terrible! As it happens, though I doubt I'd ever want to anything by them under their own name, the "FFS" album, including the B-side they didn't put on it, I do like, and it was far less a worrying result once I got to hear it, which was about a month or so after the first comment I made above. There are far worse collaborator ideas out there (yes I'm looking at YOU Elton John and Stevie Nicks for whom you pick, for instance), but on the whole yes, though I reckon 'Dictator's Sun' woulda made better single than 'Police Encounters'.

@DorisDay-lw4xs Not they'd never admit it. But OMD, Erasure, Duran, New Order, and others have all come forward to say so about their 1979 synth-rebirth. Depeche Mode, too, but they won't admit it too.

That bit about kids hiding behind sofas is just nonsense. Most likely one or two kids said he looked a bit scary, then the tabloids of the day did what tabloids do... 1 + 1 = 3684992.

As a kid growing up in the UK in the 70s, the two must watch shows were Doctor Who and Top of the Pops. The scariest things that appeared on Doctor Who were the Daleks and the scariest thing that ever appeared on TOTP was Ron Mael (well maybe Jimmy Savile in hindsight).
