FILM DESCRIPTION:
Elite Manhattan drag queens Vida Boheme (Patrick Swayze) and Noxeema Jackson (Wesley Snipes) impress regional judges in competition, securing berths in the Nationals in Los Angeles. When the two meet pathetic drag novice Chi-Chi Rodriguez (John Leguizamo) -- one of the losers that evening -- the charmed Vida and Noxeema agree to take the hopeless youngster under their joined wing. Soon the three set off on a madcap road trip across America and struggle to make it to Los Angeles in time.

The way he sat back in his driving seat elegantly shows how much detail he studied for his character. He understood and loved his role with pure heart❤
Patrick Swayze was such a great actor and from all accounts a wonderful human being. It's such a shame he had to suffer from pancreatic cancer that ultimately took his life.

I know, he died shortly after my dad died from lung cancer which is strange because my father always reminded me of Patrick Swayze, mannerisms, looks and all.

I love how when Noxeema let her her interpretation of a transsexual, Chi Chi responded with "I know that". Basically telling her that might who she be.
I've always been under the impression that this movie is based on Priscilla, Queen of the Desert, and Chi-Chi fills the same role as Bernadette, who is trans. There's a lot of argument to be made for Chi-Chi being a trans character, up to and including her elegant and subdued winning look in the final scene. I love this movie so damn much

I just love John Leguizamo been the naive child they take under their wing... well, Vida takes under her wing, and Noxema wants nothing to do with it. Later on they become not only teachers and student, but family

I watch this movie ever time it is on. It reminds, me as a child, of movie nights when my uncles and aunts would visit my family and looking for a movie to watch. Some of us laughed while i remember some of my uncles wondering why Swayze and Snipes were in this movie. Now as i am in my 30s, to me this movie is enjoyable and heartfelt.

John Leguizamo is a precious treat in this movie. Chichi is nieve but that down't mean she didn't have backbone and pride, she didn't take the hits lying down but she also knew when to take the olive branch to her advantage.
