When Robin Williams is the most underplayed character in a scene you know you’re in for a performance.
100% you knows it. but unfortunately we lost him so soon but we still have all the funny and comedy movies he did. but no longer have With Our Amazing And Wonderfully Lord's Help, Through Our Amazing And Wonderfully Lord have Robin Williams but he will always be inside of our hearts always RIP Robin Williams Died August 11, 2014 😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭
unlike his stand up and talk show routines robin actually played some very subtle and dry characters; he was a very good dramatic actor too.
In a movie
Nathan should have won an Oscar for this. No idea why he wasn’t nominated.
I agree.💖👍😎
I also love Hank Azaria is this. This was an amazing cast all around.
theres another YT video that shows all of albert's screams... he even managed to scream just like the car horn... he is so good in this
@@kimmyfreak200 can you please post the link?
For real.
Hank Azaria in Daisy Dukes and crop-top gets me every time… seriously under-rated performance!
He's such an amazing actor 😂
He has amazing femboy energy.
You can't handle my Guatelmelones
Why doesn’t he get the praise he deserves?
@@Douglas-yf6nb I rewatched it again the other day, and rewinded that part, and also "I feel like I'm insane" (Senator K) like 420 times 😂☠️🤣
Nathan Lanes scream after, "I made you short?" Always makes me laugh
Everybody is acting amazingly
yes and also what makes me laugh is when he screams like a girl and when he curses and I never Nathan Lane curse before it's hilarious
@@234dream_bigmy favorite part is when Nathan Lane screams like a girl and when he curses which makes me laugh because I never heard Nathan Lane curse before
It’s so funny! 😂
they're a good couple, one is witty enough to come up with insults and the other is witty enough to instantly realize it
I believe this was Azaria's 1st major role. It most certainly put him on the map. He really blasted it out of the park.
Rest in Peace, Robin, and thank you for everything.
He left us so much joy and laughter. I go to one of his films when I'm feeling down.
@@peg202xo7 yes, me too. Take care
There will never ever be another Robin Williams he's just one in a Million...
Sadly missed 😞...
We,truly, never had a friend like him. And it’s doubtful we ever will again.
I adore Robin Williams ❤💔 he will never be forgotten- he was and is a gift to this world. Rest easy and in peace ❤
This is one of the funniest scenes ever. Nathan Lane even upstaged Robin Williams. He steals every scene. Why no Oscar???
Because when it comes to the Oscars, comedy never wins
Nathan Lane's emotional meltdown screams...priceless!
I know and when was a kid his name was Joseph Lane and then I guess when he turned 18 he changed it to Nathan
That man is no ordinary drag queen, he is a queen in a male’s body, and he’s PROUD of it!
"I bought them for Armand, but that's all over now." "Ohhhkay."
Like Agadore is thinking, "I see we're going extreme Drama Queen for this one."
I made you short?!
@@T--xk3hf screamed
it would be interesting to see what a normal day for them was like
So sweet how Albert shows concern for Agador's well being.
So that’s where Hank Azaria got the idea for Julio
Watch how nice I'm gonna put it for jou
Albert is sweet and loving. And everyone dumps on him. Val is trash.
"It's just aspirin with the "A" and "S" scraped off"
🤣🤣🤣
My God, what a brilliant idea.
I know.
Hank Azaria was genius in this film.
ABSOLUTELY!!
The Pirin tablet’s!
Albert is hilarious too!
Total genius!!! Agreed!!
He was hilarious. He stole every scene he was in.
Him dancing in a thong while cleaning the pool gets me every time
him trying not to laugh when robin accidentally slips in the shrimp scene kills me
"I made you short? 🤨"
"AAAAGH!!!" 😭"
Nathan Lane was perfectly cast for this film.
Funnier still, originally Robin Williams was cast to play Albert and Lane was going to play Armand. They were wise to switch roles.
He can play anybody. Such a gem
@@stevencramsie9172 i heard robin didn't feel like playing another female like character since this was right after doubtfire
Somehow, I believe this scene happens IN EVERY RELATIONSHIP! Every, single one!
😂😂😂😂😂 yeah that’s definitely true
Oh yeah
CAM from modern family was HIM! I swear he was!!! 😂
In my house, it’s always:
“Pirin Tablets” for Aspirin
“Yes, it’s sludge!” for coffee
“I made it up! I made it up!” for soup
“Come on, Gloria.” for leaving the room (bonus points for it being done in a huffy manner)
“Your money’s on the dresser, Chocolate.” for informing (again, bonus for putting some huff into it) each other where we’ve left something
“…And I just love her.” when commenting on someone/something that both confuses and endears us
“Treat me right, eeh eeh eh eh, she works hard for the money…” any time we get the urge to sillily sing
“How do you think I felt!? Betrayed, bewildered.” When expressing our feelings about stuff, etc.
So many great scenes in this movie!
How about a few “When the Checkins beckons?” for trying samples? Guilty of that one as well
"The monster...the FREAK...is leaving."
@funkenstien1155 that one is my favorite line to exit dramatically with 😂
To the cemetery with a toothbrush? How Egyptian! 😂
This comment makes me so happy 😂
I would love to see a director's cut of this movie. They cut out Albert's drag performance. Just his entrance is in the movie but he did perform an actual number.
I just love the difference between his entrance costume and what he's wearing when he comes back upstairs!
Seriously?? Wow
It's take a great actor and man to step back a little and let somebody else shine. That's what Robin Williams did here. And it turn out great. Nathan Lanes performance is so hysterical and funny and they both made this movie so great.
Originally Mike Nichols wanted Steve Martin as Armand and Robin as Albert. When Martin dropped out, Robin asked to switch to Armand. Nathan Lane auditioned and won the role of Albert.
Nathan Lane and Robin Williams are the ABSOLUTE best dynamic in this movie. But Hank Azaria is pretty awesome too.
Nathan should have won an Oscar for not only Best Actor but also for just being absolutely FLAWLESS with his performance in The Birdcage
It's not often you see someone steal a scene from Robin Williams. Only once did you see someone steal every scene from Robin Williams.
If it wasn't for the pirin tablets, I don't think I could go on
I'm saying this, every day.
@@slochinwahs333 i see what you mean.
Aspirin with the A & S scraped off.
My friends and I all say “pirin” tabs….we are all nurses and we all find it hilarious.
@@gailwebb9619 My friends and I switched to "lenol" tabs. Not as funny.
The fact that this is the opening scene of the film is just incredible.
"I know you want to hit me! Go on! Do it! Hit me!"
*lightly touches his face*
"AAAAAUUUAARGH!"
My sides xD
It's hilarious she just wants to be battered a little
This scene and the "I pierced the toast" scene are absolutely hysterical.
Nathan Lane is the funniest man in the world. I love this movie and I can't believe I laugh just as hard everytime I see it. Albert loved his "pirin" tablets. 😂😂😂😂
I love his appearances in Modern Family as Pepper Saltzmann, he's hilarious!
I love how he wrenches his arm away and says "nothing" like he's hiding his stash from Armand 😂 epitome of dramatisism.
Obviously you have not seen the Original French movie. When you do , you will realize how bad this one is.
@@cjordan1161 Sorry you don't like it. I love it.
he was good in mouse hunt too
As good a comedian as Robin Williams was, I almost like him better as the straight man. The timing in his setups is flawless.
Being a good straight man is a pivotal part of comedy
Robin Williams gets plenty of praise for the genius that he was.... and he certainly played an important supporting role here, but this was really Nathan Lane's movie. I don't know anyone that could have played his part any better.
@@PowerDiva Nathan was fantastic in this movie but he and Robin had great chemisty as well
Originally, he was cast to play Albert and Lane was going to play Armand. They were wise to switch roles.
agree, so glad they made Robin Williams the straight man so Nathan could do his stuff -
his screams of terror are hilarious
Everything about thise movie is amazing. Classic, witty, funny, and a pioneer.
Agree.
Pioneer? Promoting ancient stereotypes of butch and femme, I agree, they're traveling across the screen by covered wagon.
@@akrenwinkle it's a movie!!!
No pioneer here. THAT TITLE belongs to the FRENCH Movie in which this one was based. The French movie is a masterpiece.
"What do you do while I'm onstage??"
"Nothing, I lie here." XD
Never noticed that one.
"i will go on - the people have come to see Starina" love the drama in his voice
Nathan Lane should have got an award for his excellent acting in this movie. He was so believable in this character role.
So was Robin Williams we lost an incredible actor
@@MA-rn2xp YOU didn't lose him, his family and friends did, and not an actor but a PERSON
@@yevgeniyaleshchenko849he's both a person and a legendary actor
Nathan lane as a drag queen is everything! I just want her in my life 😂
This movie is an under rated master piece. I loved watching this movie was and is comedic genius.
I love their relationship. Armand allows Albert to be her thrilling, dramatic self.
I have watched this movie more times than I can remember.
I AM constantly laughing, and yes, laughing until tears stream down my face.
The all-star cast, the comedic timing, the costumes, the storyline, the everything.
Me too!
Can we talk about Hank Azaria's legs???!!! I love this movie...
Robin and Nathan had amazing chemistry together.
I never say this-but I wish they had done a sequel, because the chemistry was just that good.
"I made you short?' 😂😂😂
"What do you do when I'm on stage?!"
"Nothing; I just lie here"
LOL
"Pirin tablets". It just kills me!
If I just listen to the audio it sounds like Timon and Genie have couples spat😂
Someone has to animate that
@@Wander1508 Agreed
I knew that voice sounded familiar!
@@Wander1508Someone made a little animatic of the scene where Albert breaks the toast. It’s not the whole scene but it’s something. Just look for “birdcage Timon Genie”
I’m 24 years old and my mom made me watch this and I’m so glad she did it’s hilarious!
Your mom is awesome
This is one of THE best movies I've seen in a long time!!! Just BRILLIANT acting!!
I watch this every time it comes on whatever channel it’s on. I just never get tired of it
One of my favorite movies of all time! Never thought anyone could outshine Robin Williams, but Nathan Lane was fantastic!
“I’m trying, but isso craysee.”
“I made you short?” 😂😂😂
OMG such a great movie. So sassy and witty and I love Nathan Lane and Robin Williams 💕
Pirin tablets have saved my life, yes they’re expensive and highly addictive but I cannot live without them.
One of my favorite scenes from this movie.
When I watch this movie. All I can see is, Genie from Aladdin and Timon from The Lion King. Robin and Nathan really hit this out of the park. Great performance from these two.
Don’t forget Hank Azaria and Robin Williams did Night at The Museum 💙
I can really relate to this I've been a Pirin addict since I was 72 😊
Some days you’re Armand, some days you’re Albert. Other days you’re Agador.
Agador's ability to stay absolutely calm, unruffled, and empathetic between the extremes of Armand and Albert is so adorable.
-"...Im a woman"
- "You re not a woman"😂😂
Hank Azaria low key gives my favorite performance in the movie. HE should have been in the Oscar conversation.
Nathan Lane is the only one in history to ever upstage Robin Williams. 💅Robin was definitely the "straight" man of this film. 🤣
I adore the way he settles and shaves everything!
Can we all just admit that Hank Azaria was the hotness in this movie?
Hank is a HUNK 🦾 No matter what he's doing ❤
Nathan stole the move from 3 genius like Robin, Gene and Diane. Incredible
Victoria Page will not dance the dance of the red shoes tonight. 🤣🤣🤣🤣. I 💕 everything about this movie but I think I love Agador the most.
Nathan Lane and Hank Azaria are hilarious.😂
They're iconic
Basically, I’m seeing Timon, the Genie and Bartok in this film, lol! 😂😂😂
Timon (The Lion King)
Genie (Aladdin)
Bartok (Anastasia)
Nathan Lanes was absolutely Phenomenal 💯🔥💯🔥 in this role!! This cast was absolutely magnificent!! I love this movie!!💙🖤💎🖤💙
That scream 🤣
Here in 2024, my teenage years loved this movie in the early 2000s, still know every line....
Absolutely hysterical!! So unfortunate nobody under the age of 30 would appreciate this cinematic masterpiece...
It's a copy. Not original. The cinematic masterpiece is the French original film
Azaria should have gotten a nomination for Best Supporting Actor.
All 3 such talented stars so well cast x
😂😂😂 “I made you short?” 😂😂 “Agadora I need some pirrin tablets, Ok?”
Not often you see Williams play the straight man, but he does it well.
Falling out is the worst part of any relationship.
Nathan is such an amazing actor !
There is so much to love and laugh about in this movie ... everyone.. brilliant .. just brilliant
Such great performances from everyone..a great movie!!
It's like watching a very close relative in another realm🤣
Genius at work here! Everyone was incredibly funny and so exceptional great at what they do!!
I can watch this movie again and again. And I always laugh out loud when Albert slaps his hands away @ 3:11.
They’re both just so used to Albert’s drama. 😂
Albert is an artist. The great Starina. ☆
Albert's screams are 🤩
One of my favorite comedies. I love them all in this. Gene Hackman in drag is hilarious. And "Pirin ....with the a, and the s scraped off."
From Wiest to Baranski to Azaria… everyone brought it
Im the only one wjo thought that starina needed like more 1 hour?
Robin Williams, absolute genius and your gorgeous voice, intoxicating ☺️ , I hope you found happiness and peace ❤
One of my favorite movies 😂❤😂❤😂😂
from the writing to the AMAZING actors , Love this movie !!!!
In times of strife,
this gives me life…
Nathan was absolutely fabulous in this movie
A great, great funny movie! If you haven't seen it... you're truly missing out.
They’re so overdramatic, Such divas, and I LOVE IT! 😹😹 This is how you make a movie with seemingly unrelatable characters, having such relatable problems!
Every scene in this film is pure perfection.
Brilliant movie!! Amazing actors.
Timon and the Genie?? Oh no!! Someone call Disney!!
Retroactive Oscar for Nathan Lane !!! 🙌🏻🙌🏻🙌🏻
Hank Azaria was amazing in this movie. Love those legs too
“If it wasn’t for the pirin tablets…” 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣☠️☠️☠️☠️☠️

My God ….. how we all loved Robin…. And seeing this again makes me miss him more …. What a genius!! RIP!!
The BEST movie! In my top 5!
