This is a genuine question not planning and insult, but what was happening with the bo-staff to me what I saw were people treating the staff as if it was a long ass sword. Is this a type of martial arts I'm missing out on or were the people using it were shitty wielders
Elvin Koay Long staff generates more power when wielded that way. Twirling it like in the Kung Fu movies however won't even have enough force to knock back someone. Try it yourself.

Guy with the 3-part nunchuk killed it, long distance -> opponent gets a paddlin, close distance -> supreme grappling skills. Nice to watch!
