THAT'S what I'm talking about!! You almost never see any FMA guys doing over one minute. Here TD does six minutes with the metal stick and then another 7 minutes with lighter sticks. If you want to be TD-like, then do tha kind of work.
So I went out and bought a 36" steel bar with a 1" diameter. It weighs 7.9lbs. I'm a big strong ex-lifter and I could not swing around an eight pound bar, and couldn't hold it at arm's length for more than 1/2 a second. So, I'm guessing the bar TD has is about 27", typical for a P-T stick. It looks to be 1" diameter. If you do the math you can figure out how much it weighs. I'll be going down to the shop and cutting off about 9" when the weather clears up and let you know.
Working from memory, the bar is 30 inches (which is common in DB circles, mine were 31" btw) and weighed 7.5 pounds. So yes, what he is offhandedly doing there IS that impressive.
@@DBMAVIDS Thanks for the kind reply. If that's the case it's VERY impressive. I still haven't had a chance to cut it down but I'll go for 30" first. I got the length estimate from measuring his palm/fist as 4" and then multiplied that and thought it looked like 28".
What an amazing video, definitely one for the martial arts hall of fame archive.
@22:13 I strongly agree!

Huh. In my experience, with most serious players you have to pry the heavy sticks outta their hands so they dont get tendinitis.

Clearly, sir, you suck.
What´s your problem with it? Believe me, it´s historically interesting for us who are in the Dog Brothers
@@Residentgnome This has prompted me to go buy a steel rod from Amazon, 36", 1" in diameter. 7.9lb. Only $20.
@@Residentgnome I'm just pointing out that it fits with the entire Dog Brothers organization.
