Do you all wish as much as I do that movies like this were still being made today. This movie was made before my time but they are so much better than the ones being made these days. The 70s and eight's and really most of the 60s movies and even TV series were just so much better. Thank you for the upload CF. New subscriber here by the way.

Sooooo I’m not getting this whole let’s attack and whine about movies today and how godawful they are, that I see on EVERY even half ways decent horror movie videos of the past…..now whilst I adore old horror movies the best we’re talking Hammer and all that type….AWESOME ones that is….there’s also A TON of trash old horror movies that aren’t worth 5mins….and as IN ALL TIMES the crap movies are way more in abundance than the awesome ones….you can’t seriously be claiming that EVERY SINGLE horror movie in the past was THE BEST? Well just like now…..as always…..in the past there was plenty of CRAP movies that sucked….just like now. Horror has always been like that …..most of them are crap ….but a few are sublime joy and horror.
But seriously people……you NEED to admit that there are still being made some of the VERY BEST horror I’ve ever seen. But you all are wah wah wah and whining alll over the place….”it’s all teenagers screaming and swearing” Christ you SERIOUS? Some of these new folk horrors have been MIND BLOWING….and you’re missing out? Sure ok. Just unbelievable ignorance, stupidity and blindness.
To act like NOTHING but awesome gold was made back then but only absolute dreck is made now. Sickening ignorance …..and trust me….I’m 51…..and have loved horror my whole life….& there’s been the best horror ever done in the last 15yrs….maybe you all need to ya know branch out a bit….cuz you do KNOW that the WORST horror ever made was ALSO made during the 70s and 80s….ya know slasher flicks? Yea you know. Like the movie right now…..it’s MEH ok. It’s not some masterpiece like The Haunting or The Changeling. It’s entertaining sure but please, let’s stop acting like it’s the best of the best that’s every been. 😂🙄🤡 I see these silly ignorant posts ON EVERY OLDER MOVIE ON TH-cam…..
You’re all missing out let me tell you. Beyond gorgeous masterpieces still being made….and yea no constant swearing or sex or naked women like ya kno THOSE 70s/80s horror crap movies being made back then? The decades you’re all claiming only had AWESOME ones? Yea I’m making my point that’s there’s 💩 movies being made then AND now. The idea you need to ignorantly whine about modern horror to somehow pay praise or homage to an older movie….is ….well plain stooopid. Period. Rant over.

I saw this film when it originally aired on ABC as their Movie of the Week, and I have a clear memory of attending school the next day and it being the predominant topic of discussion among my classmates. Some years later, I taped it, a VHS copy I retain to this day. The House That Would Not Die has become a part of my yearly Halloween ritual, watched at 3:30 in the afternoon as if I've just come home from school. It helps if it's a cool, crisp autumn afternoon, and I have a decent assortment of Fun Size bars in the holiday bowl! Thank you so much for resurrecting this old movie and sharing it, so I need not explain myself to the generations following my own. As for the "stupid interruptions", for those of your selections I remember and don't need to see again I find myself skating along the progress bar at the bottom of the screen and watching only the content you work so hard to put together for our entertainment. I'm an independent filmmaker myself, so I can fully appreciate the lengths you go to for your art. And yes, Tangella is lovely to look at. I only wish she was geographically closer to where I'm living now, as I have a working M1928A1 Thompson submachinegun I think she might enjoy... I like bad girls, which explains why I'm still single...

The painting on the wall is Princess Borgia that hangs in the Metropolitan Museum of Art at the top of the Grand Staircase. A masterpiece of Great Beauty.,like your lovely Bride. Keep up the great features. Thanks so much

Another commenter said that Barbara Stanwyck's mother sadly died after having a miscarriage and her father took a job digging on the Panama Canal 2 weeks later and somehow vanished never to be found. Very interesting. Have you heard interesting stories about Richard Egan? I enjoy far out trivia about famous folks when it's true.

I remember these ABC Movie Specials, too. We had a lot more interesting stuff on regular network TV back then. There wasn't the choice of what to watch like now. The three big networks ABC, NBC and CBS were all we got with the exception of a few local independent channels sprinkled in. KBHK TV Channel 44 and KOFY TV 20 and PBS KQED Channel 9, was pretty much it. So movie productions that were "made for TV" was EVERYTHING. Yaaassss!

Very good. Unusual to see a tv film from the early 70s in such perfect HD, but not only that - it is in its original 4:3. So many early films are spoilt by having 25% of their picture stripped away for showing in 16:9. This one hasn’t had that misfortune. More tv films from the 70s would be wonderful!
