Ranong is one of five smallest provinces of Thailand but top two with recorded heaviest rainfall. That's why we call Ranong a city of 8-month-rainfall and 4-month-sunlight. You are lucky being there with no rain. 60-70% of land is moutainous. That's why it is one of the smallest province in terms of population. Share border both land and sea with Myanmar. Some fantastic tropical islands but not as famous as those in Phuket and Krabi. Noted for hot spring. When you drive from Ranong to Chumporn, some part of the road will run along the river and you can see the land of Myanmar across that river.
When you were at the repair shop and you were pointing the parts that were being repaired... Don't use your feet next time. My Thai girlfriend hits me everyone I do it. Feet are consider very dirty and you shouldn't point to things out people using your feet in Thailand. I'm not trying to be a gatekeeper, just want to make sure you don't offend anyone in the future 🙂 I love your videos and enjoy your adventure man. Be safe and continue the great journey man.
You stole all my tips ;) I think most Thais know that many visitors are clueless about the foot thing, so they don't get too worked up about it. I know a Thai girl who when she counts on her fingers she starts with the middle one, so she flips me the bird for a second. When I tell her she gets embarrassed and turns red :)
Thank you Paddy for visiting Ranong, the hidden gem in the south of Thailand. It’s a small peaceful town that can make everyone feel relax and recharge. I hope that there will be more people come to visit and enjoy the green scenery like you😄
I loved this video and it showed so many reasons why we love Thailand and will be returning again soon, long term. We will start our long term journey on Koh Samui (with a quick 2 weeks on Phuket) and the plan after 6 months to a year will be to really explore and experience the entire country and hopefully end up living in a more cultural area like you shared today!!! Thank you.!!!
I loved your video, Paddy. I relived most of the places you showed, where I was 6 weeks ago. There are so many beautiful places that you did not cover due to time constraints probably. And I'm going back in October! I recommend you return to Ranong and explore all of it. Prim from Suriname, South America.
Hey Ranong Province is one of my favorite provinces in Thailand. It was an area of tranquility. Friendly people, beautiful nature. And trees that are green all year because of the rain that falls in a year for up to 8 months There is a large fishing port that brings marine resources. It was sold all over the country. With a distance of about 500 kilometers from Bangkok, I like to drive to relax here often. The main road into the city is really cool because it has 120 km to 499 curves. Motorcyclists in Thailand often gather together and set out on a trip here. When I came across this video, I had to prepare to go to Ranong again. Thank you very much for bringing back memories.
Lived in Ranong area for 3 years back in the 1990's no English spoken ! Consevative Locals really friendly! No bar girls! just old fashioned Thailand country town..👍
Another interesting vlog Paddy! Looks like the Yorkshire dales or moors in northern England 😉 The food you were eating…the roti with the curry chicken looks yummy and I hope it was for you….Cannot wait for the next vlog and thanks for sharing:)
Good day. Paddy. You made me wow again with traveling places in Southern of Thailand. Actually I m Thai and live in ESAN(North Eastern) you show the places difference from my home. Travel safe and enjoy it ครับ. And please teaches English for me too.
Hi Paddy, thoroughly enjoying your escapades in Thailand. Impressed with the production levels and creative editing. I spent from 1998 to 2006 living and working in Thailand and to this day still consider it home in a strange way. Love the ‘off the beaten track’ vibe and your ability in showing the other side of this beautiful country, well done. Food is such an important part of the culture and I always thought it would be good to show how these wonderful street chefs create such culinary delights. Not that I don’t enjoy watching you eat them Mate x

The audio sounds good Paddy with that in cam mic and the windsock. The province is as beautiful as you say. Seems very sleepy and laid back there. Glad you found a replacement for the drone locally. As I said I do have one I put your name on and can send it to you if you want to have a backup. I have never used it so I would rather see it in your hands getting a use or at least give you the comfort that you have a backup.
Hiya Paddy, always enjoyable content. Good vibes. Crazy how cheap they fixed. Dreamy. What if that spider jumped on you. Lol. Love your singing. Haha. Great video. Thank you for sharing. Have a great weekend. Safe travels.
I totally get that you should do videos with two budgets etc but these vids where you do random shiiiii are my faves and make me miss bprateet tai so much. What a hidden gem of an area. Beautiful! But you are right, Paddy - it looked like you were riding a meadow in the English countryside. Now just need a pub serving English Ales with Fish & Chips and Oasis in the jukebox.

Yes it is very rude in Thailand.
Yes, using your feet to point things is extremely impolite in Thai culture.
you can get punched i mean you really really can get punched
Yee Its also impolite to point using yr feet in Malay society in Malaysia too.
Shame on you Mr Doyle, living so long in Thailand and still using your feet to point! What would your students say😳
Quick tip: don’t point with your feet. It’s considered extremely rude. Also FYI that leaf they gave you was Kratom.
I Love Kratom hahaha
