Saw this video while killing time in a shopping mall is Santiago de Chile 3 weeks ago. Bought the album that night. A week later bought permanent waves, a week later 2112, 2 days ago hemispheres.... finding rush now is like just discovering Seinfeld. I was always aware of rush, but never knew how great their musicianship was. Peart... who knew drumming could be almost lyrical.
Bought it in 1981. Still play it on different modern format. Great album. A lot of heavy metal can be brutal, but these guys make it so everybody can enjoy it.
@@mingfinger I remember the summer of 81 in Los Angeles County the radio was literally saturated with songs from Moving Pictures topping the charts out of all the rock stations in SoCal, and even pop-oriented ones played lots of it, it was as if Rush owned the air. Had never seen anything like that before. And we had to wait weeks to get the album as it flew of the shelves of record shops as soon as they came out of the boxes. One shop owner commented to me he had never had to deal with such a situation since the mid-60's with The Beatles, and that he had to put orders in both the US and Canada just to get by. I still have my vinyl original, and I noticed the Canadian copyrights on it even though \\i had purchased it from Odd Bob's (a record shop) in Orange County. The sound quality on that album (both US and Canadian versions, which were identical) and subsequent ones is just sublime. Dunno who was the sound engineer but he or she did an an outstanding job. It paid off, to use an understatement.

Time is unforgiving. Recently, I've been thinking more and more frequently about a Rushless world, and now we came to this. I simply was born and grown with their guitars, synths, basses, drums and their philosophy and ended up expressing myself through them. Peart passed away and Rush took its rest as all things must end, and each thing will have a final day.
I never listened to this band when I was growing up in the 70/80s as I was in a rock n roll time warp at that time... in one way ime glad I didn’t as I now have the chance to listen with a mature ear and appreciate the awesomeness of them 👍
If I could have so much fun playin music - I guess I could live forever - but I had only a few moments like this - they had that approx. their whole lifetime - but jealousy ain't good - managing a lifetime ;-)

Someone should make a movie based on the lyrics, sort of a modern day Dukes of Hazard, alloy air car and all 😃 Never seen them live but they defined the 1980s for me living in Ontario at the time.

The best rock drummer on Earth , John Bonham and Roger Taylor are pretty good but will never come close to Neil.
