I didn't mind the slow start to this video, as the scenery was beautiful. I bet that makes you feel alive. No city smog, just fresh country air; and some odd smells thrown in.
Tungatinah, Tasmania. It is a case of hanging onto your hats, because the West Coast of Tasmania,s roads can dish out tight hairpins, close corners, wet, frosty and snowy conditions. Man oh Man, it is a driving lesson and experience to drive those roads.
Greetings from Berowra Heights That road is like driving from Crows Nest Qld to Esk Qld. Poor brakes on our caravan were smoking when we got to the bottom of the range.
Reminds me of a mate around Cooranbong, Martinsville way. His land looks green as, but not enough growth for the cows. Roads look similar to that Mandalong area.
Hey Shane! love the new format! awesome start to a video showing off really * got 'im! .... no I didn't * the long dark night of the Shane * the blessings of working with nice people * Chook chaser 🤣 * how do exhaust brakes work? * Wattle Flat nr Yankalilla Wild Dog Creek Rd
The road coming down the hills into Adelaide used to be like this, hairpin bends etc, added to that traffic coming towards you and traffic behind. It's a piece of p**s now with the tunnels, although a lot of drivers think the speed limit is just a suggestion. Loved the video.
Hi Shane I spent many years up at Nulla Nulla Creek on the Mid North Coast of NSW and the scenery was very similar to that except it was all dirt this video bought back some great memories thanks mate
Another great video Shane. Hubby and I used to drive from Woodford in Qld heading towards Esk and Toowoomba and it had a sh*t road that bounced everywhere but had a beautiful view with winding roads.
Wow 16:23 and never an F or a C or a dopey C to be heard . Country driving must be therapeutic . Anyone done Frogmore to Reids Flat to Bigga to Crookwell ? Mostly bitumen but about 20km rough dirt ,and great scenery .
Shane, heres a place like that, I first thought you were at one of the dairies at Main Creek, the road is very similar but not quite that narrow, but the closest Ive seen to that road at East Gresford is past Gloucester going to Nowendoc on The Thunderbolts Way. Ive been on that road at East Gresford, a few years back when some of it wasnt sealed, it was bloody terrible at night when something was coming the other way, btw that one lane bridge is pretty recent, last time I was on that road it was an awfully rickety one lane old timber bridge
I can remember a few roads & areas like that near a monastery in W.A., located in an area called New Norcia, which is 132km north of Perth, near the Great Northern Highway. Driving them (especially at night) was literally “playing with fire” because 1 wrong move either way would’ve f**ked up your day big time, mainly because of the lack of street lights in the area.
Nice veiw Shane, i would rather drive on roads like that rather than the city, so green considering it's as dry as a cat's bum here...i moved to the bush 43 yrs ago when gympie Qld was still a small township, the backroads are still goat tracks... it's not as good as the road u were on, but have travelled between Widgee and Kilkivan along one of the first tracks build in Qld called the national trail...it does go onto dirt up threw there, but u just putt along, amazing country, no good for a truck, 400metres about sea level, oldest black boys i know of and back in 1860's there were 4000 chinamen worked up there extracting gold and copper mainly...besides that i have been shown evidence of bigfoot prints and there is spose to be a black panther getting around as well...its awesome when there is no street lights or many house lights as the stars just poke u in the eyes...hope u enjoyed my story, take care on them goat tracks Shane
Mate I'm to crook to remember all the names of the little towns but the whole of the north east corner of northern NSW. As an example we lived near Tyalgum little town outside of Murwillumbah and we would ride the chook chasers through the forest to go to the pub at Uki. The dirt roads in the forest were better kept than the bitumen lol
Yeh mate, video time 9:26 I did same thing years ago , with a 10ft wide Donga from Wacol going to Sydney, camped at Bulga until 1am and got going down the Putty Road , easy to see what's coming around the 35Kph corners , then stop again at Colo until daylight.
Just up the road (I'm in Maitland), I thought it might have been off the Lostock Dam road. Lots of roads like that in the snowy mountains region where i was born, and in Tassy. Keep up the vids mate I watch then all.
my grandparents used to own a property at Jarrahmond, right on the Snowy River, it literally flowed through their land. The roads around there were very similar to this. and some of them werent sealed
Get em to send u a google maps sat view. We did that when we had a big tank delivered . BTW, we are still in drought. Windy road? Dairy Flat Road between Beaudesert and Kyogle.
Good thing about those kind of roads is the only people that use them are farmers or people that live out there, so they know what to do when a truck comes the other way.
Mate we travel the roads less travelled all the time,We're retired now after 20 odd yrs running interstate and now towing a van give me the country roads anytime.
My Aunt, Uncle and cousins used to live up near Barrinton Tops. It was the same sort of road but gravel and one side was the edge of a mountain. Always fun passing a logging truck. Also Dungog, had relatives there and very similar countryside and roads.
I live in Dungog and IMO our shire has the worse roads in the state. Is the area you are thinking of on The Thunderbolts Way? I remember when it wasnt sealed at the top of the range
@@davidewhite69 Yeah i think it was the name but i cant remember, way too long ago. but some of the little roads around Dungog are exactly like the one Shane was driving on. :)
When working at a fire station in the lower hunter, we got called to a truck off the road up past Gresford. We were called in our hazmat capability. The truck had rolled off the road at some road works and was perched above the river. Craning it back on the road was not going to be easy.
Worked on lamination national Park road to rebuild it after big rains from ex cyclone . Had my 5t excavator combo up there, the best bit of that road looks like the worst bit on yours
Shane… I saw the short you filmed for this & I reckon it would be a lot better waking up to a herd of cattle walking past than finding out you parked in a cemetery overnight ☝️😁🐄🐄🐄
@@shanehastattoos … Being a country boy from way back, I’m more used to cattle than cemeteries, which I’ve always found creepy AF, no matter what time of day you’re in or around them 🪦😳🪦
Shane, you did a good job backing out of the farm mate. I was told it's easier to back a semi than a caravan because the trailer is longer, so you have more control. Do you think that is correct? Looks similar to many back roads in Tasmania. I also love your videos, I watch them to the end.
Appreciated mate, and backing anything is easy once you get use to it, but a twin axle (or in my case tri axle) is easier than a single axle as you need to push it around more than it going where it wants to
Hi Shane. Which road were you on? My mate and I ride our motorbikes up in that area regularly but I don't recognise the road. From Edgy we go via Mt Sugarloaf, Kurri, Greta, Branxton to Gresford. Home via Vacy and Paterson.
I didn't mind the slow start to this video, as the scenery was beautiful. I bet that makes you feel alive. No city smog, just fresh country air; and some odd smells thrown in.
Thanks for your efforts Shane, love the vids, keep up the good work, just like a podcast but in a truck watching you drive. Love it 10/10
Mount Larcom to Bracewell, QLD. Back roads to a lot of dairy farms. Love the vid, just driving along looking at the scenery. Thanks Shane. 💖

To let you know Shane - I watch all of your videos all the way through to the end. I enjoy

Greatly appreciated Will

Great video and the farm shots were great. At one stage I was a dairyfarmer around that area.
Very Enjoyable Thank you :)

Hi Shane, you’ve been hanging out near my place 😊 beautiful part of the country ❤
Enjoyed your trip mate in a great part of the valley. Mt George.
Thanks for sharing 👍

Back Nubba Road, Wallendbeen. Road to the inlaws farm. A mix of sealed and unsealed and open and tree lined.
I've ridden down a few farm roads like that in Tassie

Glad to see you were slow and sensible, using the jakes. I dont do the backward thing would have burnt out the brakes.....
Reesville Rd, Corks Pocket Rd, Reesville, Qld.

Yeh a Donga up to Mt Fox near Near Ingham North Qld, dirt, narrow steep and windy.
Sounds nice under jacs 😎😎
Nerriga was like that years ago but most recent was Murrays Run, not far from this location. Can tell you're enjoying yourself, no course language.
Bungendore Spur road is a bit gnarly. Amazed at your reversing skill. Would like to have a tenth of that.
