For those wondering if Trump can still vote as a Florida resident-yes, he is still legally allowed to vote. Florida law states that if the felonies were committed out-of-state, they defer to said state's voting laws. Trump was convicted in New York, where the convicted are allowed to vote as long as they aren't physically incarcerated, ergo Trump is still legally allowed to vote

Oh and you’ve never made a mistake? A non violent conviction shouldn’t bar an individual from ever voting again. It’s obviously a political move to stop Florida turning blue
If making one bad decision should prevent people from ever voting again then we should probably ban all the people that voted for Trump in 2020.
Voting for him in 2016 sure, that's just low-info voters who fell for his faux populist rhetoric (and who liked his racist exclamations).
But doing it in 2020 after we had >200 weeks of 'biggest scandal ever' after 'biggest scandal ever'? Nah man, those people have shown they can't handle the responsibility of voting.
If you knew the parasitic nature of some communities...
First, people who have served their sentence should not be punished twice.
Second, anyone who is affected by politics should be able to vote on it. Here in France, losing your rights (including voting rights) is not automatic, and many people in prison are allowed to vote. And they should be, if only to ensure that prison living conditions are humane.
In Sweden, as long as you're a citizen, you get to vote in parliamentary elections even if you're a convicted felin currently serving a sentence, and you get to vote in municipal/regional elections even if you're not a citizen. This includes violent and sex offenders.
