You are timeless Mr. Oliver. Thank you for the reminder of Better Bundo Book. Just purchased a hard copy for my local Little Free Library and the audio version for myself. I mean, Jim Parsons, John Lithgow and Ru Paul ... how can I not?

It's genuinely awesome that you were able to take an implicitly petty act, releasing a parody of Pence's book, and somehow make it wholesome by supporting the disenfranchised people he oppresses, WHILE doubling down on the pettyness with your marketing strategy. The cherry on top is how you donate the book's proceeds. You're a fucking legend John Oliver, you're the best goddamn troll there ever was, and that's coming from a cartoon horse, so you know it means something.

That's awesome because that means it pissed off a bunch of Evangelicals. Also, since a banned book usually becomes a must-read for many, it gained popularity.
This was the first episode of LWT I had ever watched, what a beautiful work of protest and solidarity.
This is especially sad to see after what happened to Navalny.
This is legitimately the first time I ever heard about Pence's book, and I have a copy of A Day In The Life of Marlin Bundo. Pence lost this battle hard

Thank you so much for re-posting the season five episodes. The Marlon Bundo book was a brilliant idea! How many were ultimately sold, and how much did it raise for the two charities?
i haven't taken the time to deeply investigate this so i don't know how many copies were ultimately sold, but it sold around 180,000 copies in the first couple of days and an article published ten days after the book came out said that 400,000 copies of the book were in print at that point. using the list price on the amazon page for the book ($18.99, though i can't confirm if this was the price of the book when it first came out), it could've raised about $3.4 million within the first couple days alone, and around $7.6 million if all copies in print ten days later were sold! (though again, take this with a grain of salt)
So Trump started talking about Pence and hanging pretty early. 14:00

It is governments that seem to create conflict where none should exist. In 1989, I was aboard a Russian fishing vessel when the announcement that the Berlin Wall was being brought down was made. The Russians and I drank together in celebration. I toasted to the great Russian people and they toasted to the great American people.
Conflicts are created for one reason and one reason only...making money.
@@jspres86 Also, I was in Montreal when the end of the Vietnam War was announced. A friend was just outside the room where the international movement leadership met. People were celebrating in the street but the room was quiet. When the door opened, he asked someone that was leaving about that. The response was essentially: "The Military Industrial Complex will not be affected and the celebrants in the street will remain unaware."
When I had a copy of the book, I immediately showed it to my mom, who loved that it pissed off Mike Pence and it went to a good cause. I also read the other book at the library and it wasn't too bad.
John and Co. forever engaged in Anarchy for good.

She posted on Twitter a picture of herself and the real-life Marlon Bundo wearing a bow tie identical to the one in Jill Twiss' book[27][40] and said in a television interview: "His book is contributing to charities that I think we can all get behind... I'm all for it".[41][42]
If I may say something positive about Pence, his actions both before and during the Jan 6 attack were incredibly admirable. If you didn’t know, the riot was really the final, last-ditch effort in a long series of ploys by Trump to maintain power, and arguably the only reason Jan 6 happened was because Pence refused to go along with Trump’s false electors scheme.
During the riot, Pence came within 40 feet of the mob that was chanting for his hanging, and when his security escorted him to a car outside the capitol, Pence refused to get inside because he knew they would drive off and he didn’t want to leave. After the capitol was cleared out and the mob had dispersed, many senators and representatives wanted to just delay the vote until the next day, but Pence called everyone back in at 8pm (after bomb squads were done sweeping the building) and the vote was certified at 3am.
