I know everybody knocks on Animax, but I love K-on so much that I can forgive it... I like to think that K-on original Japanese is canon. the Animax is a low budget reinterpretation while Sentai is a faithful remake.

Im always subs first, but the sentai dub of k-on is great, as far as dubs go. English language dubbing has come a long way since i started watching anime in the early 90s. A lot of them were downright cringeworthy...although there are some older ones that I absolutely prefer the dubbed version. Dominion Tank Police, Cyber City Oedo 808, Bubblegum Crisis come to mind. The first time i watched those 3, i watched the dub. This was in the days of VHS and the internet was barely a thing. Dubs were the only choice for most Americans. The subbed versions are great too, but i lose the nostalgia factor. Nowadays i have a choice...so I generally prefer to watch shows in whatever language they were originally recorded in.
I'm hearing Puella Magi Madoka Magica's Homura Akemi in her "Moemura" days, minus the crippling loving obsession with Madoka Kaname (whose English VA, Christine Marie Cabanos, is also Azusa Nakano in K-On!) and other soul-crushing stuff in the show.
The japanese seiyuus sound natural and fit the scenes so good, while the english dub voice actresses sound forced. The quality level of Japan's seiyuus is clearly too high for other countries, still, Sentai dub ain't bad.

The 2nd one is from an anime broadcasting service in Southeast Asia called Animax. They would take their hand in dubbing anime at the time when it was probably hard to get ahold of dubs from bigger companies like bangzoom, sentai or funimation
