Major note to this....when you buy another ball joint MAKE SURE it comes with a flange nut instead of a regular castle nut because it is very possible that the ball joint could come loose from the control arm (with the control arm sleeve on the ball joint). Or use the old flange nut if it's not damaged. The castle nut that comes with the ball joint that you get from most auto parts stores is not wide enough to cover the bottom of the control arm. I just learned this the hard way. After replacing my ball joint and got on my way to get an alignment my ball joint separated from the control arm on the freeway and I almost ran off the road. Broke my driver side axle and destroyed my front driver side fender and bottom molding under the driver side door.
Yea i followed this, and both of mine came out with the LCA sleeve so now i need to buy 2 LCA’s along with this because i cant get this sleeve off the ball joints
This makes no sense. Why are we disconnecting the battery for a ball joint? Why destroy the wheel bearing just to do the ball joint unless it was bad to begin with? I just did all of this without removing the hub and wheel bearing. I just came here to see if the one I'm working on is missing something bc none of the ball joints we can find fit properly so in fairness I guess I could have missed something just skipping through. But for just the ball joint replacement none of that is necessary.

No mf way that ball joint popped out that easy I’ve been beating on this damn ball joint like my life depends on it
Can you show how to take the ball joint sleeve off the old ball joint? Also I don't think you need to take the hub out
Hub doesnt need to come out (at least on my 07 type s) just remove the round retaining clip on the back that sits behind the abs sensor

Good video, you just forgot to show bolting the the strut back on, you can see it not attached in part of the vid.
Why wouldn't you show how to remove the sleeve that came off with the balljoint....
You don’t have to take out the hub for the ball joint… that was just extra work.
+Jaleer Stiger We appreciate the feedback. Sometimes there are multiple ways to accomplish the same repair. 1aau.to/m/Shop-TRQ
You show nothing about the lower ball joint sleeve...
That’s what I’m sayin.. he completely skipped the most important part.. how tf did he get the sleeve off the ball joint to re use it?
What’s the upper ball joint torque ?
Homie left the forks off

Trq parts don't interchange.
